Thought it would be nice to have a general thread with various notes from training camp. Great to see Trevathan getting practice in (given how rough of an injury he is working back from.

Prospect A. (+)Has all the intangables and leadership qualities. Tough and plays through pain and takes command of the team. Strong arm and can complete all the intermediate routes. Decent mobility and can throw accurate on the run. (-)Doesn't shine at any physical aspect, but not poor at any either. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prospect B. (+)Has it all from a physical standpoint. Perfect height and weight for a QB and can take a hit. Is athletic enough to avoid the rush and buy time in the pocket. Can make all the throws and has great arm strength. 4. Reports are, apparently the 49'ers got into his head on Monday, and today he got a demotion. Supposedly he couldn't handle it and quit the team. Lol. And no I'm not making this up This marks the 2nd player to quit the team this year. Remember Devin Thomas abruptly left in Training camp because he was sick of football. Sean Jensen ‏@seankjensen The 49ers knew how to "get in his head," a source told me about Chilo Rachal, who gave up 1 sack, 1 hurry & committed 2 holding penalties Expand Reply Retweet Favorite And Vaughn says vaughn mcclure ‏@vxmcclure23 According to multiple sources, Chilo Rachal became upset after being demoted for Chris S…

  5. As per the trib http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2279764.story Is that an eye-popping number to anyone else? The 2nd round was only 2.5 million, but the first rounder was 18 million. Hell, lets trade our first rounder every year and spend that coin on a proven veteran. Seriously.

Is there any way trading our second and another round pick isnt a no-brainer. 1st off, past Robiski, i dont see the WR at 49 to be worth much of anything. Boldin has like 4 years left of production and a with a great QB, the rest of our bums will probably be 100x better. I think we take the absolute best player available then at 99 and fill our holes with the late rounds. And for god sakes draft a FB, Sutherland would be my choice....

It appears Rashied Davis has put himself into the lead here to start at one of the slots. Who starts alongside him? I think at this point it will be Hester splitting time with Lloyd. Davis will move to the slot when we go with 3 WR sets. We know Bennett will be on the roster so after tonight IMO that leaves Booker fighting Bradley for the 5th spot. What do you value? Booker's experience in route running and blocking ability or Bradley's athleticism for big plays (not that he made many)? Anybody else notice Bradley on special teams tonight? Neither has impressed me and I'm 50-50 between them.

    Using NFLDraftScout's Prospect Rankings, I filtered it for only CB/DT/ILB/WR/OT/OG/C/TE/QB, then figured out who might be available at our current top 3 picks (20, 50, and 117). For the 1st round, I figured +/-10, 2nd round +/-12, and 4th round +/-20. I was assuming this is how far someone could fall and how far we might reach on a pick. Here are the groups: 20 - (+/-10) 11 - X. Rhodes, CB 12 - J. Cooper, OG 13 - T. Austin, WR 14 - C. Patterson, WR 15 - S. Lotulelei, DT 17 - S. Richardson, DT 18 - S. Williams, DT 19 - T. Eifert, TE - 20 - 22 - D. Fluker, OT 23 - D. Trufant, CB 24 - M. Watson, OT 25 - A. Ogletree, LB 26 - R. Woods, WR …

  9. SF at 5-7 is favored by 3.5 pts at home. They are playing after a SUN Night game in the snow in BUF, while the Bears are coming off their mini bye at Thanksgiving. SF has lost 3 straight and have been outscored 73-20 in their last two games. McCaffrey looks to be out for the year, so it will be interesting to see how they respond. With the Bears, it will all come down to how the team responds to Brown as the HC. The talent is there as they have been in every game this year outside of the ARZ game. Otherwise, they had a chance to win any one of the other 7 losses. They could've easily beat 3 of the top 10 teams in the league over the past 3 weeks. EPA/PLAY: …

I don't care if there are 22 players on defense, you don't make that call in that situation. The Bears were up by two, had a slight edge in momentum, and basically gave a field goal away. To be quite honest, the Bears defense - minus one play - did a great job tonight. With one Cutler INT leading to what amounted to a two yard "TD drive" by the Packers, and the fake punt leading to a gimme field goal, it's a game the Bears should have won. They put in the requisite effort, but the offense shit the bed and is almost completely responsible for the loss. Not a great start, but there is definitely a silver lining to all of this. If the Bears' O, ST, and coachi…

Orton: Now you can take this a number of ways, but it sure does seem like a shot at the Bears since that is the only "talent" he has ever been around.

Cutler meeting with offensive coordinator candidates Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 15, 2010 11:15 AM ET With Pete Carroll involved in G.M. interviews, it's fair to wonder if he's the one voice that matters in Seattle. A similar dynamic may be playing out in Chicago, but the voice belongs to a player. Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo confirmed that Jay Cutler is a key part of the interview process as the Bears search for an offensive coordinator. "We've involved Jay, and we'd like to have him meet with [all] the candidates," Angelo said. "He understands the whole process, and he knows we want him involved. This is not the first time we've involved a player…

Some have talked about how to fix offense or defense, and pointed to defense being closer. This is true. But if the coaches and franchise want Trubisky to succeed, he needs to be given everything he needs. That means weapons and tons of time to throw to the weapons. Here's the mock draft that would fit that bill. Trading down is obviously mandatory. Your score is: 15527 (GRADE: C+) - Don't care about this score. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 19 (BUF): Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame ( B )-Starts at LT immediately Round 1 Pick 29 (PITT): Courtland Sutton, WR, Southern Methodist ( B+ )-Stud WR and Red Zone mismatch, a crutch for Trubisky. Round 2 Pick 6: Ronnie …

It's not signed sealed or delivered yet, but it sounds like Dennis Allen is our likely DC. He's been a head coach twice, so it's not likely he will get another head coaching job soon. He's an aggressive coach who wont sit back in zone all the time. We will live and die by this, but at least our players will get the chance to compete and dominate. Here's an article about his scheme that goes pretty deep in details. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-new-orleans-saints-dennis-allen-defense-buccaneers-tom-brady-week-15-2021

I think that most of our draft picks will be on defense. Our DC will take what we get in the draft along with the pieces we have to form whatever defense the talent allows. I think they fit some pieces in from free agency. DL-With Houston and Young coming back from injuries it muddles the expectations of pieces we have that will fit in to the new scheme on defense. Bass and Washington will be tried at OLB so Houston, maybe Sutton are the only two DE types we have on the roster. We dont have the true NT type but think with Ratliff and Furgeson we have two that could play the role. Paea- was our best DL last year but doubt if he can play the DE sp…

  19. After a disappointing last season I see no reason to get hyped about this year so far. I expected just little more FA signings for more depth and at least 2 starters before draft day. I really believed that we would have signed a free safety with more experience, leadership and pro bowl caliber type. The same goes with an olinemen with the same qualities. I guess we could still pick some Fa's after the draft to fill in where we need too. Maybe the grab a handfull of shit and throw it against the wall to see what sticks theory is going on here. Nfo maybe had it right when he posted about Angelo short sheeting Lovie like he did Jauron. I normally don't agr…
