We keep having vets become available. I think Decker is on the downhill slide. His injury last year is not fully recovered. I think we have thrown enough darts at the board in Cruz, Wheaton and Wright. Cruz is the only one 30 or older, so lets see how it plays out. Decker is still dealing with healing where as Cruz is one year removed from his injury. We have White and Meridith they are young and with upside so if we continue to bring in retreads it will lose snaps for the guys we need to keep moving forward. So for Decker, no.

I know most Bear fans like me cannot wait until the Bears dedicate building the D back into the Monster we have seen. The current roster situation seems to dictate at least one more trip to the well for offense. There will be defensive additions but I forecast offense early in the next draft. My forecasted needs as of now will be OLT, CB, WR, DT, and LB. RD1- OLT - this depends on how well Charles Leno Jr performs on his final year under contract, but his mediocre performances may sway Pace to find a superior blindside protector for his prize QB. Meridith strained a ligament in his thumb, no big deal, It is not a knee, or shoulder or leg injury, he will be just fine.

I'm still optimistic he's going to turn out to be a good player for us. I don't think that happens this year as he learns a new position. If he can still run well, and the offseason workout videos seem to show that he can, then special teams coverage could be his ticket to making the 53. Best case is he challenges Bullard for significant backup reps at DE. Or maybe that's the worst case because it means Bullard hasn't progressed as we hoped. If he sticks around, down the road I can see RRH in the LDE role when we are in a 4-man front. He was called 10 minutes after the pick and the next morning. So this also ties back into the secrecy scenario and the need to keep things quiet. Glennon was at the Bears draft party, so why would they invite him, then draft a QB in the 1st...... I am glad Glennon is taking all this in stride, or at least saying the right things. I am actually hoping he has a great year, which will ultimately benefit us in some way shape or form.
