Trubisky listed on injury report with a right shoulder injury. Hopefully he is okay / injury is minor. Evidently it happened after the late hit near the end of the game. He joins Lynch and Shaheen on the injury report as the two of them are both in concussion protocol. Given the short week, I presume there is a good chance Shaheen/Lynch are out this week. Hopefully everything is good with Mitch!

It appears Rashied Davis has put himself into the lead here to start at one of the slots. Who starts alongside him? I think at this point it will be Hester splitting time with Lloyd. Davis will move to the slot when we go with 3 WR sets. We know Bennett will be on the roster so after tonight IMO that leaves Booker fighting Bradley for the 5th spot. What do you value? Booker's experience in route running and blocking ability or Bradley's athleticism for big plays (not that he made many)? Anybody else notice Bradley on special teams tonight? Neither has impressed me and I'm 50-50 between them.

  5. I see a lot of the same names in the mock drafts, and for good reason, but since every year is a surprise, I figured I'd try to come up with a realistic Bears mock of guys I haven't seen much on, to see what people might think: 1) Bud Dupree, DE/LB, Kentucky - I think this is high, but I've seen more and more mock that have him ahead of Beasley, Ray, and Gregory, so if Fowler goes top 4 and the Bears go edge rusher, he could very well be the pick. 2) Quinton Rollins, DB, Miami (OH) - Defensive player of the year with only one year of college football experience piques my interest. Might be the ballhawking safety we are looking for. 3) Rashad Greene, WR, Florid…

  6. Bears will likely finish season at 6-10 and pick in the top 10 (Projection based on us losing to Lions / Saints / Cowboys and beating Vikings). We started last year 3-0 and finished at 5-8. If we do end up finishing at 6-10, that means in the last 29 games, we would be 11-18, which would be good for a .379 winning percentage. If you look at his overall projected record (14-18) with a .437 winning percentage and a negative trend. I have a hard time thinking, given how things went, that there will be a significant argument to keeping Trestman around. This is a unit that ranks as follows: Offensive: Points = 22nd Yards = 20th Defensive: Points = 30th …

  8. Looking at all these NFC teams hovering around 7-3 is making me nervous, thinking that if we don't win our division, we have a good chance of missing the playoffs entirely. I hope this doesn't end up like the Patriots a few years ago when they went 11-5 and missed the playoffs. The Packers are looking invincible now, even with their injuries, that makes the final game of the season probably the determining factor on who makes the playoffs and who stays home. This makes the Eagles game a MUST win, and beating one of the Jets, Patriots, or Packers is a MUST as well. If we don't go atleast 4-2 in our last 6 games, we might be in trouble. Even then, I think the Packers probab…

    Using NFLDraftScout's Prospect Rankings, I filtered it for only CB/DT/ILB/WR/OT/OG/C/TE/QB, then figured out who might be available at our current top 3 picks (20, 50, and 117). For the 1st round, I figured +/-10, 2nd round +/-12, and 4th round +/-20. I was assuming this is how far someone could fall and how far we might reach on a pick. Here are the groups: 20 - (+/-10) 11 - X. Rhodes, CB 12 - J. Cooper, OG 13 - T. Austin, WR 14 - C. Patterson, WR 15 - S. Lotulelei, DT 17 - S. Richardson, DT 18 - S. Williams, DT 19 - T. Eifert, TE - 20 - 22 - D. Fluker, OT 23 - D. Trufant, CB 24 - M. Watson, OT 25 - A. Ogletree, LB 26 - R. Woods, WR …

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...re-in-cap-room/ 11 teams still have $20 million or more in cap room Posted by Mike Florio on August 2, 2011, 8:02 AM EDT Getty ImagesOne week into the 2011 spending spree under the new $120.4 million salary cap, 11 teams still have more than $20 million available for the coming season. A source with knowledge of the numbers has shared them with PFT. Leading the way are the Bengals, with more than $41 million in cap room. The Jaguars have more than $34 million. And the bronze goes, surprisingly, to the Browns, with more than $30.4 million. The others are: the Buccaneers (more than $30.2 million); th…

left on the 53 man roster. Cowboys | Team meets with Bollinger Tue, 2 Sep 2008 17:27:22 -0700 Updating a previous report, Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News, reports the Dallas Cowboys met with free-agent QB Brooks Bollinger (Vikings) Tuesday, Sept. 2. The Cowboys may sign Bollinger after Week 1. He would have never made it to the practice squad. Dallas was the other team that tried to sign him as a FA after the draft. He is from Texas. They would have snagged him in a heartbeat. Peace

http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=333919&src=148 Hell yes. Can't agree more, as I know Jason will agree as well. You just can not ignore OL in the draft as we have and expect to have a good OL. Adding FAs as we have, you might have a year or two in there where the OL plays well, but it will never see consistency. I would further argue against the FA route we have gone by pointing out the OL, more than most units, needs time to develop chemistry. When you add older vets who are not expected to have more than a year or so left, you just will not have sustained success. Even if Pace played better, he was a short term solution. It would be one thing i…

At this point the roster is nearly complete, and the Bears need to focus on what positions will need updating, and which will benefit the team the most. I think we might be able to glean some info from the depth chart: Offense LWR 12 Robinson, Allen U/Jax 18 Ayers, Demarcus SF17 80 McKay, Mekale SF17 00 Fowler, Bennie R/Den RWR 11 White, Kevin 15/1 15 Bellamy, Josh W/Was 19 Gentry, Tanner CF17 SWR 18 Gabriel, Taylor U/Atl LT 72 Leno Jr., Charles 14/7 LG 79 Sowell, Bradley U/Sea 67 Morgan, Jordan 17/5 63…
