Wow, Cohen moves and jukes like my fav, Sayers. Pace got a gem, like Papa Bear did. I really missed this type of football. Loved it in 64-65, adore it now.

I've been thinking about the concept of cohesion via draft lately. With this draft, there are several scenarios where players could be drafted to create immediate cohesion, assuming that type of bond carries over to the pros. Do you believe it works? Or does the NFL speed/ability difference make the cohesion of rookie opponents negligible? For instance, if the Bears were to draft: RD2: Sidney Jones, CB, Wash RD3: Budda Baker, S, Wash RD4: Kevin King, CB, Wash or RD1: Mitch Trubisky, QB, UNC RD4: Ryan Switzer, WR, UNC or RD1: Jonathan Allen, DE, Bama RD3: Tim Williams, OLB, Bama RD4: Eddie Jackson, S, Bama RD5: Dalvin Tomlinson, DE/NT…

PFF came out with their TEs ranking for 2025. Kmet is ranked 29th. It's funny how much crap this guy takes because he is not Kelce or Kittle in their prime. Sure he is probably not a true top 5 TE, but he is constantly in the top 10 in most categories, yet it seems like people treat him like a dud. Here is where Kmet is at after 4 weeks for TEs: 5th in receptions 5th in yards T-2nd TDs T-2nd 1st Downs Since the start of 2021, Kmet is 11th in receptions, 10th in yards, T-9th in TDs, and 12th in 1st Downs. Thoughts?

I was shocked, but Cole Kmet led all receivers (from both teams) in receptions and yards on MNF. For the season, he now has 49 receptions (10th among TEs) for 490 yards and is on pace for over 60 receptions and 600 yards. I didn't expect him to be a top 10 TE for how bad our passing offense has been, which seems to make his stats even that much more impressive. However, on eye test, he is a great blocker, but is not an elite pass-catching TE. I feel like he needs to spend the offseason on the jugs machine and working on small area quickness. So what gives with this guy? He has the same amount of receptions as Bobby Massie and Ryan Nall, 1. He is 11th on the team in receptions and has only been targeted 3 times all season and was not targeted against Atlanta. For a 2nd round pick, you would expect at least a little better production at this point. If you remember, there were some other TE names the team could've targeted, guys like Adam Trautman who was supposed to be a project, has 3 receptions for 34 yds, Harrison Bryant has 7-59 and a TD. One target in last two games (it was a catch by the way). That is absolute insanity. Waldron and offensive coaching staff is really irking me. Just like start of season where they went completely away from him…we come off the bye and the guy who catches everything thrown at him literally has 1 target in 2 games. Insane.

This guy has quietly put together his best season as a pro. 70 receptions, 678 yards, and 6 TDs. Receptions and yards are already a career high with 2 games left. Yesterday was his first career 100-yard game and he did it only playing the first half. Right now he is 7th amongst TEs in receptions, and 28th in the NFL overall. For yards, he is 8th amongst TEs. So he clearly is a top 10 TE, and it feels like he still has some room to grow as a receiver.

So this guy got 1 target and 1 reception in Week 1. Even with that week of low usage, he still is 5th amongst TEs in receptions and yards, 3rd for 1st Downs, and has the highest Catch Rate amongst the top 20 TEs this season. He is 8th in AAV for his contract amongst TEs, only 500K more than Friermuth. It feels like the Bears got a very solid deal with Kmet who is signed thru 2027. His cap hit is fixed, so every year it is going to become an even better deal.

So I was bored and decided to take a look at 10 different mock drafts and see where players were being projected. This would give me at least somewhat of a clue for who will be there at #20. Here is what I came up. Ok.. not Bears related, but we had a discussion at work about college bye weeks. Do the conferences determine the bye weeks for each team? We noticed some teams always have a bye week before facing each other, and some are just random.

This was a game filled with players who will affect the draft on the first two days. I only saw the 2nd half and it's recorded so I'll likely go back and watch it all. For now... I love football season. Now that college season has started, I like to follow my team Notre Dame, but more importantly I like to follow top players I'd like to see the Bears draft. Today I'm watching North Carolina, they have a LB Kevin Reddick I've seen some mocks with the Bears taking in the 2nd. How about we use this post to mention players we like for the Bears.

I like Marrittoa, would love to get him in the draft. Don't think he would be around when its the Bears turn to draft If Trestman is around they may target a QB in later rounds. I like Byrce Petty from Baylor in the later rounds.

As the process never ends in my world I am making a list of players I think the Bears will keep a keen eye on as they draw out there scouting schedule. Next years draft, they will need two homeruns with the the first two picks as they have no 3rd RD. If things fall right this season, this should be a deep OLT draft. Our first two visits happened. They brought in a RB, Seth McGowan/ UK and a center from Kentucky Jager Burton.. He is the 17th ranked OC on draft buzz. An UDFA type. McGowan is the 9th rated RB on draft buzz. 4.49 speed. He is an explosive type RB with a 43.5 vertical and 131" broad. Overall rank #170. Would be a mid round pick. Pick 129?
