This was a game filled with players who will affect the draft on the first two days. I only saw the 2nd half and it's recorded so I'll likely go back and watch it all. For now... Jonathan Allen: In two college playoff games I've yet to be impressed. I don't see the game wrecker I was expecting to see but he can also be holding back a bit knowing he's about to make $30 or 40mil. His stat line was good 7 tackles, 1 sack so one of these days I'll go back and watch the game and focus even more on him, unless of course our friends at Draftbreakdown cut it up. DeShaun Watson: Speaking of making $30 or $40mil there is no way to watch that game and not come a…

I love football season. Now that college season has started, I like to follow my team Notre Dame, but more importantly I like to follow top players I'd like to see the Bears draft. Today I'm watching North Carolina, they have a LB Kevin Reddick I've seen some mocks with the Bears taking in the 2nd. How about we use this post to mention players we like for the Bears.

I like Marrittoa, would love to get him in the draft. Don't think he would be around when its the Bears turn to draft If Trestman is around they may target a QB in later rounds. I like Byrce Petty from Baylor in the later rounds.

  4. As the process never ends in my world I am making a list of players I think the Bears will keep a keen eye on as they draw out there scouting schedule. Next years draft, they will need two homeruns with the the first two picks as they have no 3rd RD. If things fall right this season, this should be a deep OLT draft. The positions as of today that they will need to add youth: OLT Chris Faulk LSU 6-6 325 Taylor Lewan Mich 6-8 302 Jake Matthews Tex AM 6-5 305 Oday Aboushi Virg 6-6 310 Luke Joeckel Tex AM 6-6 310 Ricky Wagner Wis 6-6 322 DJ Fluker Ala 6-6 335 DT Johnathan Hankins Ohio St 6-3 318 Star Lotuleile Utah 6-4 325 Kawann Short Purdu…

Our first two visits happened. They brought in a RB, Seth McGowan/ UK and a center from Kentucky Jager Burton.. He is the 17th ranked OC on draft buzz. An UDFA type. McGowan is the 9th rated RB on draft buzz. 4.49 speed. He is an explosive type RB with a 43.5 vertical and 131" broad. Overall rank #170. Would be a mid round pick. Pick 129?

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-sat...480--ncaaf.html I know, I know, I decry the very idea of "mock drafts" but just finished reading the referenced Sports Illustrated article about the QB for the currently #1 ranked Wildcats. Base on it he seems he would be a fantastic pick for a town like Chicago. And "they" are expecting him not to go early on drafts... So why not? Please don't tell me "we need OL help".

According to several sources the Bears have put out feelers to Trent Green , Damon Huard and Todd Collins with the former 2(Green and Huard) basically saying they are retired and the latter(Collins) wanting the Bears to pony up a signing bonus if he is not truly going to get a shot at making the roster. Souces have indicated that Matt Gutierrez is on his way to Bears camp but it is not confirmed whether they have offered him a contract or not.

Now has 48 receptions for 622 yards and 5 TDs on the season. That is the most for a Bears TE since Kmet's 719 in 2023 (on 73 receptions). In the Super Bowl era, Dikta, Dewveal, Bennett, and Kmet are the only TEs in Bears history to have 650+ receiving yards in a season. Desmond Clark had 626. Loveland is having the 2nd best season in Bears history for a rookie TE, only to Dikta's 1,076 yards and 12 TDs in 1961 (in 14 games which is insane). Loveland also has a +43.2 REC EPA, 3rd to only McBride and Kittle. McBride has 161 targets, Loveland has 69.

  11. Pretty cool honors for the rook. Could've also went to Monangai or even Williams. If Loveland keeps up a solid pace, he could at least make the Warren v Loveland debate a little more even. He now has the PotW Honors, a 100-Yd game, and a 2-TD game to his credit. Warren has yet to break 80 yards receiving, which I was somewhat shocked about. It seemed like he was getting a lot of attention from the media, just to compare to Loveland, which I did as well.

In fact, Hawaii doesn't really belong on the same field as Georgia. Too bad to since I was really looking forward to this game.

  14. http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ COLT GETTING CUT Posted by Mike Florio on April 1, 2008, 2:54 p.m. Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan, whose buzz as a potential NFL quarterback took a serious hit once his team was dismantled by Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, will see his draft stock dip for an entirely separate reason. Brennan needs surgery to repair a torn labral in his hip, according to Tony Pauline of SI.com. The surgery is scheduled for April 7, and he’ll miss eight-to-12 weeks as he recovers and rehabs. In other words, he’ll miss most if not all of the offseason workouts of the team that drafts him. In turn, he is expected to dr…

  15. The 2-1 Colts come to Soldier Field as 2 point favorites against the undefeated Chicago Bears. No one picked the Bears to win in Atlanta, and no one is picking the Bears against the Colts. With the QB change (which was the biggest variable for the last 3+ yrs), this should be a good matchup for the Bears. Phillip Rivers comes to town and is a very turnover prone QB. I like our chances against him. In a way, our teams are very similar in composition. Vet QB that is not very mobile, young RB, solid WR's, good Edge Rushers, etc. If you do a player by player breakdown, I like our chances against them. I am going with Bears 27-17 and the Bears go to 4-0 with a decisive w…

The Colts are taking the approach they will be without three-time Pro Bowl center Jeff Saturday and rookie guard Mike Pollak when they open the season Sunday night against the Chicago Bears in Lucas Oil Stadium. More than that, they're taking a business-as-usual approach. The players who will fill in, coach Tony Dungy said Monday afternoon, "are here because they can do the job. You can't over-blow (the situation).'' Saturday could miss at least six games with ligament damage to his right knee. Pollak had minor surgery on his right knee and missed the final two preseason games. That leaves a likely offensive line grouping of left tackle Tony Ugoh, …
