I would love to see the Bears enter a draft with extra picks stockpiled. It seems every year we enter the draft with less picks than rounds. So the thought of giving up a future draft pick to obtain a promising prospect is questionable in my mind. Especially when the prospect has a few question marks, however small they are. It appears that Isaiah Battle is a highly regarded OT prospect, one who could possibly anchor an OL on the left side for a long time. So would you roll the dice on him? We have a lot of smart people on here and read on WINDY CITY GRIDIRON that there are looking for some writers and Bear fans to contribute to their site. I dont have any creditable past moments to think I could contribute but have the desire, but will have to wait until I retire from my job to take a shot at anything like that. BUT is there anybody on here that could contribute to that website? It obviously is not a paying job, but would be somebodies hobby. What would it take to make the Bears Super Bowl contenders? I don't consider this coming season a great possibility, but lets say 2016 working within realistic means. Come draft day and FA, what moves would bring Chicago the Lombardi? What players need to emerge? I'm not nearly as optimistic as Jeremy Stoltz is regarding our running game. I'd love for him to be right and I do agree that the pieces we have on offense are not that bad. We know we can't protect the edge of the pocket on med-to-deep passes and Cutler will never be a good quick-release short-route QB so if running up the middle works have at it. I heard on the SCORE that what put in a waiver claim for Tim Wright /TE but TB was higher on the waiver list. We keep searching for TEs, I wonder if they think MB wont be at minicamp next week.

It's hard to say what he has left physically but as far as leadership in our secondary we haven't seen anyone like him since we lost Mike Brown. Hey Guys, My extended family and I are going to visit Bears training camp for the first time this year. I'm really excited. Of course as a newbie, I don't know anything about it, how it works, if you have to get there early, need tickets etc? Also, are there any must see or do attractions or restaurants etc in the area? I know some of you guys have a lot of experience in this, so any tips or info are greatly appreciated. Thank you! Kyle

Reportedly Acho has looked good as well but some of that could just be his familiarity with the 3-4 which gives him the advantage up front. I'm not too keen on Willie Young's fit in this scheme, especially coming off that achilles injury. If Fangio wants OLB who can get to the passer that's not Houston's forte but I can't see us cutting Houston this year. So maybe it's slow and I'm looking for something, anything Bears related. Saw this speculative report (below) about the Bears looking at FA Evan Mathis (I'm for the 'no thanks' category). But what caught my attention was that the Bears are $8.1 million BELOW the cap at this point. That is with something like 90 players currently on the roster right? Seems pretty incredible. Another veteran with starting experience signed to a 1-year deal, though he hasn't been very good since his Super Bowl heroics. Hopefully one younger guys beats him out (Bryce Callahan, Jacoby Glenn, Demontre Hurst, Al Louis-Jean), but provides some decent insurance.
