Chicago Bears QB Kyle Orton's Great Game Against the Vikings Could Have Been Greater Posted Oct 21st 2008 11:47AM by Michael David Smith (author feed) Filed under: Bears Bears quarterback Kyle Orton had a fantastic game on Sunday against the Vikings, and he's looking nothing at all like the guy who started for the Bears in 2005. Orton completed 21 of 32 passes for 283 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions, for a passer rating of 114.5 on Sunday -- the sixth best passer rating in the league in Week 7. But he actually did that on a day when his receivers didn't do him any favors. Marty Booker dropped what should have been a 14-yard touchdown pa…

http://profootball.scout.com/2/816325.html Here's a link to the available free agent tackles. If we can get a good RT in FA we can focus on a good OG in the draft within the first 3 rounds, hopefully resign St Clair to play the other Guard and have the makings for a good OLINE.

It only took Turner 14 games to call a good game. And how did it happen so far? Stretch plays and runs to the outside were added in, deep crosses, and then the play action pass was thrown in. Oh, and what play resulted in a ridiculously easy TD? That's right, the old play action pass, roll out pass to the WIDE OPEN TE. It is not rocket science folks; every team in the NFL has been using that play successfully for quite some time. Glad Turner finally caught on to the obvious. Now if Lovie could only create a defensive adjustment that didn't completely suck.

Couple interesting interviews. The first was Mully & Hanley interviewing Warren Sapp. Now, people can say what they want about Sapp, but he knows Lovie (played for him) and knows the system. Further, the following comments, according to Sapp, stem not just from watching the game, but from watching film of the game. Sapp starts out talking about the type of protection Tenn is using, and goes on to basically rip the bears for the way the rushed the passer. He flat out said it was like Chicago never watched tape, and didn't game plan to attack the type of blocking scheme Tenn uses. I think he even took it another step, saying you really couldn't see much of a…

With the announcement of his 6th missed game, it is hard for me to see the Bears paying him Top 5 WR money or even franchising him for $12mil. The franchise number is skewed because of Megatron's ridiculous deal which looks even worse today (2016 cap hit $24mil). I think I would be ok with something under $10mil for a couple of years, but even $10mil a year would put him 11th overall. Is he worth it, especially considering the injury history? If we did go in another direction, these are the best available WR's under 30 this season: Unrestricted Free Agents: Travis Benjamin, 25, CLE, 61-893-5 Marvin Jones, 25, CIN, 57-745-4 Rueben Randle, 24, NYG, 51-638-6 …

Setting the picture - I was watching the Packer/Seattle game at my friends house. When Favre made the scramble and underhanded throw right before half I turned to my friend and said "I bet Madden had to get up and clean himself off after that". Peace

This may be it for Hilly what Zaidman is speculating. If so, thank you Hilly for all the years of service, I hope you're ok!

College Quarterbacks Love Bears Rookie Wide Receivers Posted May 13, 2009 3:00PM By Matt Snyder (RSS feed) After the Bears landed Jay Cutler in early April, the focus of many fans and media alike shifted to the receiving corps. Devin Hester, Rashied Davis and Earl Bennett will need some help, and no one can doubt that. Since then, the Bears have seen Torry Holt sign with the Jags, not traded for Anquan Boldin -- probably because they don't have enough to offer -- and drafted three second-day wide receivers. Over the course of the past week, the Chicago Tribune has conducted interviews with the three respective quarterbacks of the three drafted wideouts. As…

Due to being out of shape. As per the Sun Times. No kidding. The SCORE said he appeared to be pushing 400 lbs. They might be exaggerating, but either way, how can a 2nd year pro athlete not stay in shape? Unbelievable. Lets hope Dusty can stay healthy.

It's nice to find an NFL player (or any pro athlete) with a sense of humor in front of the media. I get tired of all the standard cliche answers to every question. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/ The Bears' first-team offense has run approximately 30 plays in the preseason, hardly a large enough sample size to panic over Bennett not getting the football thrown his way. But when the regular season rolls around, Bennett promises that quarterback Jay Cutler will know when he's open down the field. "He sees me; I'm 6-foot-7, a big black guy running down the middle of the field. He sees me," Bennett said. "I wear white gloves so he can see the white g…

Nothing serious here in terms of negotiations but I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas reached out to Urlacher's agent.

January 6, 2009 Bears release linebackers coach Lloyd Lee By: By Larry Mayer | Last Updated: 1/6/2009 6:07 PM LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears on Tuesday released linebackers coach Lloyd Lee. Lee originally joined the team in 2004 as a defensive quality control coach, a role which he filled for two seasons before becoming a defensive assistant working with linebackers in 2006 and nickel backs in 2007. This past season was Lee’s first as linebackers coach. Last Tuesday the Bears released defensive backs coach Steve Wilks after three seasons with the team. Another defensive assistant who won’t return in 2009 is line coach Brick Haley, who is pursuing an …

I know this has been discussed before, but may be news to some: http://www.sbnation.com/2014/12/30/7467853...li-bruce-arians Basically Marinelli was in charge of interviewing new HCs, Arians was first choice, Bevell 2nd, and Trestman a distant 3rd. Emery went against Rod's recommendation and the rest is history.

Chester Taylor visiting Bears on Friday, too Posted by Mike Florio on March 5, 2010 12:48 AM ET Defensive end Julius Peppers won't be the only potential new Bears who's hanging out at Halas Hall on Friday. Running back Chester Taylor will be there, too. Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Taylor is expected to visit the Bears on the first day of free agency. In the Mike Martz offense, Taylor could be a Mike Martz/Priest Holmes-style weapon, given his ability to catch the ball. Except when it's squirting out of his hands, and then being intercepted and returned for a touchdown. Redskins out, Bears in for Peppers Posted by Mike…

Very interesting. I assume Kwit is gone and we re-sign KPL as the primary backup. I also hope this is a team friendly deal in the sense the last year of the deal is probably a team option meaning little cap hit if we cut him. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2020/03/12/bears-sign-danny-trevathan-to-three-year-extension/
