Let's play devils advocate for a minute, as we've had this argument before regarding T.O. and Brandon Marshall. How could OBJ be different? One thing is, he's still elite. With us having a huge need at WR and being cap tight, we could now get OBJ for 1 mil this year and 13mil the following two. We are getting ready to lose Arob, who can't shake free anyway. OBJ comes out of deep breaks like Tyreek Hill and still has game breaking speed. If he comes in and knows he'll be working with an up and coming Fields, his attitude may become as a mentor. Also, Fields would absolutely have someone he can chuck it to at any time. With Fields deep accuracy and Beckham's abi…

I get that they are 13-3 but come on. The guy is 9th in passing yards and tied for 3rd in TD passes. His stats are closer to Cousins than Brady, Stafford, Herbert, Burrow or Mahomes. Look at how close these are. If Rodgers isn't protected by officials, he has a few more INTs and a few less TDs. He would basically have Cousins stats without the refs: Rodgers 352-513, 68.6%, 3977 yds, 7.8 Y/A, 35 TD, 4 INT Cousins 358-539, 66.4%, 3971 yds, 7.4 Y/A, 30 TD, 7 INT One is a slam dunk MVP candidate who constantly gets bailed out by officials and one is an average QB at best? Do people even watch the games anymore? If anyone deserves it, it is Jonathan Tayl…

Hey all, After 35 years in NYC (I grew up outside of Chicago), in September, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona. It's great here. MODs: I'd love to change my display name to "BearFan PHX" if possible? I could always make a new profile if necessary, but I'd love to keep my stats, and either way I'll keep the Willie Galimore jersey! And when I do change my name, I thought all of you, lovers, haters and indifferent alike would want to know that it was still me, and not someone new. That's all Mods please let me know? Thanks!

1. Forte! Fortisimo! What a game! ...need I say, pay the man. 2. Hester...YOU ARE RIDICULOUS! Almost 2 runbacks! Kudos for Mr. Hester sending his ball to canton and taking the all time record! What a joy it has been to watch you! 3. The D. Garbage today. Besides the great tip drill by Moore, the D played poorly. There was little pressure, when there was, Newton slipped away or got off a great pass. Only to deja vu all over again and see Steve Smith eat chunks of field like no tomorrow. Again. Marinelli's guys did not looks up to the game in all honesty. Mistakes abounded. Kudos to Newton. That kid can play football. 4. Martz still worr…

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,4087922.story Max Komar??? IR??? Practice Squad??? WTF? I'm sorry I'm usually not this critical but are you joking? You have a guy that is playing his mind out (Forte) and is still waiting to get a decent contract... Despite it and the team is once again leading in sacks (gotten) and you sign a FA, currently IR practice squad guy? Angelo you are a baffooon.

At least Martz did something once upon a time. Tice was the offensive line coach for a Vikings team that never accomplished anything. He was unspectacular as the Vikings head coach and bad as the Jaguars offensive coordinator. The offensive line has, if possible, gotten worse under Tice and Tice has given every indication that this is the group he wanted to go to war with. Part of his job is to prepare the offensive line to perform on game day, and he has shown no ability to do that. Do the players have to perform? Absolutely. But I've seen no indication that he has had any kind of positive impact on this team. Time to clean house, boys. Get rid of Tice…

I know this won't be a popular thought, but I would rather see the Bears bring back Martz as OC than to put Cutler and the offense through another learning curve. I see no reason to install another offense when Lovie only has 2 years left on contract. We have an good defense & special teams, but a defecient offense. No matter what/who's system we run, it will always be defecient unless we invest more into it (and many have said this even back in the Grossman/Benson days) Martz's offense can actually be the missing piece to improve Lovies D if we can just get the right personal in it. Lovies D is made to excel when playing with a lead, which he mentions 17pt…

I've been seeing lots of mocks where LaMichael James from Oregon is falling into the third and fourth round. Would be prudent for the Bears to spend a late third on him if other issues have been addressed? For instance, what if the Bears had the following: 1: Michael Floyd, WR, ND 2: Janoris Jenkins, DB, UNA 3a: Nate Potter, LT, BST 3b: LaMichael James, RB, OR If that happened, I see three potential first day starters, and a great RB who could either fill in for Forte to give him a break or potentially replace him if the contract never gets sorted out. Add in the fact that there will be a ton of OLB depth available in the fourth round, and it sounds lik…

March: Franchise Forte --Key offensive piece for the Bears; expect a longer term deal as TC approaches. Sign Demetrius Bell- 4 years, $18 million. --Bell only gave up 1 sack in 6 starts at LT last year, but he has had some knee issues. Still, he's 48x better than Webb. Sign Stevie Johnson- 5 years, $25 million. --Not that I love this, but I see the Bears going this route. He'll be cheaper than Bowe/Jackson/D.Jackson, and he and Bennett have the same agent. Sign Eddie Royal- 2 years, $4 million. --Knox's career is likely over, at least in Chicago, and Royal is a similar player. Of course, Royal is slower but he has better hands and he knows Cutler. Sign M…

1st Rd Jonathan Martin OT 2nd Rd Bobbie Massie OT 3rd Rd Juron Criner WR 3rd Rd Coryell Judie CB I have a hard time believing that Martin will drop to 19 and that the Bears will spend 2 picks on OTs in the first 2 rounds but as usual most mock draftniks don't follow teams as well as the fans do on a daily basis.

Team Needs 2012…Chicago Bears February 29th, 2012 | Author: Nathan Jahnke From the time Lovie Smith took over as the Bears’ head coach, they’ve been an average team at worst who, at times, flirts with greatness. While they need to take care of a few of their own guys first (starting with Matt Forte), they have needs elsewhere that can be filled. In the past, Chicago has shown no problem making the big moves in the offseason to improve their football team. In 2009 they traded for Jay Cutler, and in 2010 they added Julius Peppers. Both moves greatly altered how the team played on their respective sides of the ball. With the Packers being the class of the divi…

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/categ...or-mill/page/2/ Packers next to host Demetrius Bell Former Bills tackle Demetrius Bell is the No. 2-rated unrestricted free agent left unsigned on the PFT Hot 100. He’s a 28-year-old, starting-caliber left tackle who’s been unlucky when it comes to avoiding the injury bug. But Packers G.M. Ted Thompson knows a potential bargain when he sees one, and Bell fits the bill. Per Joe Buscaglia of WGR 550 in Buffalo, Bell will be visiting Green Bay later this week. As a Packer, Bell could provide competition at left tackle if the team cuts the cord on longtime starter Chad Clifton. Clifton turns 36 this offseason, is …

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...story?track=rss Packers coach on Marshall joining Bears: 'They definitely got better' PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy has been watching the Chicago Bears’ offseason moves with interest, and was particularly intrigued to see the Bears acquire receiver Brandon Marshall. “Brandon is a problem for defenses matching up,” he said. “He’s a No. 1 receiver, he’s a hard guy to single up and play. They definitely got better. "Plus, he has the relationship with (Jay) Cutler. There is definitely value in that. It will complement their run game. They ran the ball very, very well at th…
