http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit against Brandon Marshall dismissed Posted by Michael David Smith on June 23, 2012, 12:30 PM EDT APA lawsuit that an ex-girlfriend brought against Bears receiver Brandon Marshall, accusing him of abusing her, has been dismissed. The Chicago Tribune reports that ex-girlfriend Rasheedah Watley, who filed the lawsuit in 2009 accusing Marshall of battery and false imprisonment in two separate incidents in June 2007 and March 2008, had her case dismissed in Georgia State Court on May 25. Marshall and Watley had an on-and-off relationship that began when they were in jun…

I heard about this from a co-worker of mine. Said that Lovie didn't like the rule changing the location of Kickoffs so he "rebelled" during the game the other night. And contrary to the article I believe the Bears were penalized once for this. Steltz' caused fumble during one return was nullified during the first half because of it...I believe. Is it me or do the Bears seem to have an air of nastiness about them this year? I like it. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl-wp5084

Mike Brown named AFC defensive player of the week Posted by Michael David Smith on November 18, 2009 10:41 AM ET Kansas City Chiefs safety Mike Brown picked off two passes in Sunday's win over the Oakland Raiders, and today he learned that he's been named the AFC defensive player of the week. It's the second player of the week award of Brown's career; he won an NFC defensive player of the week award in 2001, when he played for the Bears. Brown is the first Chiefs safety to win the award since Jerome Woods in 1997. Both of Brown's interceptions came off Raiders backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, who came in after JaMarcus Russell was benched. The first int…

I'm sick and damn tired about hearing how damn great the NFC is. What REALLY pisses me off is for the last year, there's been the notion the Bear's didn't have a snow-ball's chance in hell to win the big game. It was 29 to 17!!! Christ almighty, the way people talk you'd think the Bears lost 41 to 3. I hate NY teams, but the Pat's were even more obnoxious. Congrats Giants. On a side note, in any sport has their ever been a pair of brothers to do what Peyton & Eli have done?

Mostly all of the positives from the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHNYUmjRsIQ When we have sufficient blocking, we can make plays.

I personally think AROB is a top 5 or 6 best WRs in the league. Having said that, for the 18.6 mil it will take just to tag him this year should we? How about sign a Cory Davis made 6 mil last year, ( maybe 10 m) and Curtis Samuel who made 1.6 last year (6 mil contract for this year) and throw in a Phillip Dorsett 1.2 mil this year (3 mil contract). None are as good as AROB but gives us a upgraded WR room, for almost the same money. That way we can concentrate on upgrading the OL and a QB prospect in the draft.

I’m a softie for stories like this. Seems appropriate for the holiday season. Encouraging to see so many members of the team to help push the positive juju for this boy.

After we signed what we hope will be our starting LT and TE for the next 4-5 years, in the last six days we have signed 6 players who either will start or add much need depth to the roster. 3.25.13--Signed Jonathon Scott who at worst will be a back-up swing-tackle. At best, he replaces J Webb at RT 3.24.13--Signed starting OLB James Anderson who was a big $$$ free agent two years ago. 3.23.13--Signed Tom Zbikowksi for LB & special teams depth. They say he could be the next Craig Steltz . . . 3.22.13--Signed MLB DJ Williams. He's probably better than Urlacher and cost less . . . if he can avoid getting suspended. 3.21.13--Signed blocking TE Steve Man…

for next yr from the Suntimes. Not sure if I agree with everything they are proposing but they do cover most. Interesting note is that Fred Miller has played all year with a partial torn MCL. Why the hell was this never mentioned????? Not saying that changes my opinion on what should happen with him going forward (he needs to go), but at least we know now there were other concerns. Also, Moose 3.3 million cap value next yr - no thanks. Get him out of here. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear28.article Peace

Some uncertainty remains on the offensive line with seventh-round pick Kirk Barton in line for a job but in position to possibly be impacted by Fred Miller. The veteran is out of town at a family wedding this weekend and continues to mull his options, likely with the hope the Bears will move up from their offer of a minimum-salary benefit deal at $830,000. Guard Chester Adams, the seventh-round pick from Georgia, got good news when he learned he suffered only a sprained left medial collateral ligament at Cleveland.

Smith expressed confidence that Terrence Metcalf, Josh Beekman or John St. Clair will fill the void at left guard after the Bears declined to re-sign veteran Ruben Brown. “One of them will step up in that role and give us the type of play we need,” Smith said. At receiver, Smith praised offseason acquisition Brandon Lloyd and revealed that Mark Bradley will participate in the first training camp practice after recovering from offseason knee surgery. “Brandon Lloyd has made as much progress and has looked as [good] as any of our players we’ve had in offseason work,” Smith said. “I’m anxious to see him take it to this next phase of getting ready for the seaso…

On a clear afternoon during training camp in early August, Howard Mudd talked of storm clouds and the need to prepare for them. Well, stormy times are here for Mudd's injury-depleted offensive line. And it's especially ominous considering the group is charged with protecting quarterback Peyton Manning, who's dealing with injury problems of his own. Manning is expected to start Sept. 7 when the Indianapolis Colts open against the Chicago Bears, but he might need a bit of time to regain full mobility after knee surgery kept him out of all the preseason games. And the composition of the group in front of him is anyone's guess. Ligament damage to his right k…
