He looked great to me, anyone else agree/disagree? BTW, maybe he can teach rex and orton what stepping up in the pocket means.

- 1st string defense was embarassing. You don't let a crappy team like KC drive the ball down your throat. - Forte looked good. I think we will be happy with him. - Both Orton and Grossman just looked ok. I hope someone stands out next week. - Special team penalties killed us. - Wolfe re-enforced my belief he can be a very good 3rd down back. - Hanie locked up the 3rd string QB role in my opinion. I really liked his poise. - The offensive line actually did ok. I pray they do not bring back Fred Miller. I would rather have St Clair at LT. - Bennett should not be returning kickoffs or punts. Toub must be on crack. I will hav…

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cs-08...0,1821674.story Looks like he is deciding between the Bears, Texans, and Ravens. Also, note at the bottom of the article that Matt Lawrence was cut. Peace

Why, when Hanie was leading the Bears down for what would be an eventual FG by Robbie "Good as" Gould, did the mega brain trust of "Stomach" Turner & Co. decide to run up the middle when Hanie was hitting the mark for that drive and looked poised to score? Heck, he might have even had run for a first! Granted it's pre-season, but these guys do not have much legs to stand on. Their history shows a complete disregard for logic. I swear a 10 year old with Madden skills could have called a better play. I fear this will be long season...just with coaching alone.

They better not think they are going to be able to keep on the PS. He will have to be on the 53 man roster and I would want him over Simms. Peace http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cs-08...0,3768131.story

I am watching the game again (man I love DVR) and a few things. - McGowan and Briggs are really standing out is poor angles and tackling. I want to write it off as 1st preseason game, but as this was such an issue last year, and something we were supposedly working so hard on in camp, it does concern me. One area McGowan is looking good. He is making a few really good plays in the backfield. So when he is going downhill, he is looking good. If he is not attacking the LOS though, he simply seems late and is taking bad angles. - Cut back running is killing us. I believe this is a problem of old for us. We are aggressive up front, and collapse the ar…

OK, I wasn't impressed. But as I've given myself a little time to think about it, it wasn't all bad. The O Line did hold up pretty well and there weren't a lot of penalties called in the game. Of course, I'm not sure KC is a pass rushing juggernaut either... The running game looked pretty good. Obviously we have some horses there and this will only improve when Jones is ready to go. Now, it sure would've been great if Jerry didn't draft a guy with a pre-existing back condition. Damn it. Still, we'll have to watch this situation develop. If the line can produce through the first half of the season and the kid really returns in 12 weeks, it might not be so bad …

Tank Disparaging Grossman-its one thing if fans do it , its another when that piece of garbage does it. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10925647 The former Chicago Bear, Tank "Gatling Gun" Johnson, was tossing the football recently with several other defensive linemen at Dallas' training camp. They were chatting and joking and Johnson's voice boomed loudly. When the topic suddenly turned to Johnson's old teammate, quarterback Rex Grossman, Tank was even less shy. Johnson didn't seem to care that a journalist and several fans were well within earshot. Johnson called Grossman brittle and, in so many words that can't be repeated, he also called him so…

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...1,6929232.story Wolfe can't afford to let injury keep him off field By Vaughn McClure | Tribune staff reporter 7:46 PM CDT, August 10, 2008 BOURBONNAIS - The pain in Garrett Wolfe's left hamstring continues to throb. The Bears running back feels it when he dips through the hole. He feels it after catching a short pass over the middle. "I'd say I'm about 80 percent,'' Wolfe said. "It's gotten better from when I first hurt it, but I'm still not where I need to be. It's really starting to get on my nerves.'' He sure fooled the 50,000-plus fans attending last Thursday's exhibition against Kansas C…

The Ultimate Guide to NFL Defense If you ever wanted to read an in depth article on NFL Defensive Formations, this is it. A worthwhile read if you are a serious fan wanting to better understand the defensive formations used in today's game (and even some that are no longer used much).

from cnnsi.com Cowboys, Bears scouting Simms For 20 minutes, he was a football player again. Not a rehab case. Not a disgruntled employee. Not a trading chip. Chris Simms had an entire field in front of him and was anxious to put the past behind. As auditions go, this was a keeper. Simms was effective by most standards, and pretty darned impressive when you consider it was his first extensive playing time in nearly two years. He completed 8 of 10 passes for 60 yards and a 91.7 QB rating on his three possessions, and he drove the Bucs to one touchdown and one missed field goal. For Simms, the results are probably incidental. If he continues to play well, maybe anot…
