Pro Football Talk is reporting that Malcolm Kelly of Oklahoma ran a 4.63 forty in his latest attempt. Given the fact that there have been rumbling about him possibly dropping into the second round and the fact that scouts tend to in my opinion focus too much on the forty as opposed to game speed, would you consider taking him in the second round if he is there. I like his size 6'3" 218 and he was fairly productive at Oklahoma. Just a thought.

Urlacher is there! According to Zack Zaidman Urlacher is on the field in uniform stretching right now. Nobody expected him to be there especially so soon. Makes you wonder if maybe he and bears management is starting to make progress...

Would Darius Heyward-Bey fit the bill as a speed addition to this team. Whats the deal with him? This was a first round WR that has yet to breakout. Is he a bad route runner or what?

So not only did everyone know what we were doing offensively...evidently they knew what we were doing defensively last year. This was out of Biggs 10 thought on Bears piece.

I got to thinking about how excited everyone was about the RB screen. It was successful, looked great, and had my jaw on the floor the entire game. I'm sure that every Bears' fan was pumped to see this play, one that has NEVER worked, be so successful. Here's the problem: it's a sign of the Bears' failure. Why does a RB screen usually succeed? The offensive gameplan is successful enough that the OL can almost toy with the DL. The DL rushes in, almost oblivious to their newfound success at getting to the QB. Ted Phillips announced a 2 yr extension for pace today during the press conference. Everything else he said was complete garbage like usual and pace didn't really say much either except it's a "collaborative effort between him, Ted and George about the head coach search but he's got full final say as he should on it

For the right price, I'd still like to see him brought in here. If Cutler gets hurt for 1 game or the whole year at the worst, we have Hanie coming in. Right now, we're an upper echelon NFC team and we need a serviceable QB in case Cutler goes down.

Just saw Vasher is close to signing w/ SD. Could be interesting to see if, with the coaches he played well under if he does so again. Also, while we all knew Rivera was in SD, I have to admit I didn't realize Wilkes (DB) and Johnson (DL) coaches were also in place in SD.

I haven't seen this mentioned here yet: the Chiefs just put Will Franklin on waivers. Speculation is that he did something to get on the wrong side of the coaching staff, since he's got a fair amount of potential, fits their new offensive scheme well, and is just coming off his rookie season. LT for Buffalo, but at 340lbs, I have to believe he can play LT or RT. Buffalo is reportedly not even close in discussion of a new contract, which led to Peters holding out part of last year. Could be available through trade. (a) Can he play RT ( Would he accept the RT position © Is he worth the sort of money he is likely looking for, which is likely in the Gross ballpark (d) what would it take to get him.

I've read where some qb's (Drew Brees and Eli Manning) are paying for and running team workouts. Is Cutler doing this and do you think we will be behind if the Bears are not doing this?

This week is a short one with the Bears playing Sat afternoon. Here's the Tue practice injury report. We may be getting some players back with Goldman, McPhee, and Amos starting to practice in a limited manner. On the flipside we added Shaheen and Kendall Wright but neither appears to be serious.
