I saw someone point out that this could be a move that benefits both team and player. We have Terrell Smith who is a little stickier in man coverage than Stevenson, but less good at tackling around the LOS. Given the new defensive scheme is going to rely on man on the outside more often and our lack of depth at safety this could be a win win. I could see Stevenson playing the role Brisker has played for us and doing it well.

2/$6 million for Josh Blackwell as key ST contributor and CB depth Smythe is your Gerald Everett replacement with better blocking. He was with Miami when Ben Johnson was there, so looks like another one of “his guys”.

Not a bad haul. I was 0-4 on the picks though lol. Colston Loveland, TE Luther Burden, WR Ozzy Trapilo, OT Shemar Turner, DT An offense of Williams, Swift, Moore, Odunze, Burden, Kmet, Loveland is kind of insane. Kmet may end up as the Bears 5th pass catching option. I think Tyler Scott is a cut candidate, same with Pickens now that they drafted Turner. The trade down helped out a lot, the Bears got their guys and their 4th rounder back where they can go RB or S, I would assume.

They have the Bears at 21 so still bottom third. I hope we surprise a lot of people this year.

These two videos popped up on my feed today and I thought in light of the draft picks and what we've seen and heard about in our practices it was good for me to get a sense of the vision for the offense. I think the biggest question for me before the season starts is: Is Jaylon Johnson going to play and can he be up to speed day 1? I know there are questions at other positions but until we see our players preform, Im going to wait and make those judgements later. Because we are playing Jefferson our first game, I think this matters.

I haven’t liked an uncertain player a ton in quite some time. I remember being in love with Randy Moss and being told he was way too big of a risk. Well, I loved Skattebo also, and many were uncertain about him. Too slow. Bad competition. Won’t translate to the NFL. Even though he appears to be fast-tracking towards CTE, he could have been the guy the Bears picked to fill an obvious need. i wonder if the Bears front office even considered drafting him? Has anyone seen reports suggesting one way or another?

after watching these new kickoff rules for some time now i truly dislike them. especially in tight games with time running out the field position caused by this new rule is atrocious. it starts teams out on a drive 2 first downs from kicking 60 yard plus field goals to win (somebody riddle me this... the nfl existed for 90+ years and a 50 yard field goal was considered nearly impossible. now it's almost like an extra point.). add to that mess, it eliminates legitimate on side kicks with this nonsense. if they are worried about injuries, make a rule that all special team players have to wear those helmets that help protect against concussions. add to that if they…

I have not been the biggest fan, mainly due to his lack of range, but his kicks tonight with the wind and the onside kick were amazing. This was arguably the best game of his career.

I don’t how the specifics would work, but given the disparity in contracts, maybe the Bears should call Buffalo and talk to them about a DJ Moore for Keon Coleman trade. That would get DJ’s primary money off the Bears, remove an issue (for those who believe it to be), and do the same for the Bills. I could see how both sides may view this as win-win. Detroit hires Petzing as their OC and GB hires Gannon as their DC. ARZ's defense was one of the worst in the NFL over the last 3 years finishing 29th, 15th, and 31st in pts while the offense was not much better finishing 23rd, 12th, and 24th. Considering GB is going from Hafley to Gannon; that is a huge downgrade in coaching. Gannon benefitted from a stacked roster in PHI which he will not have in GB, nor did he have in ARZ.
