Didn't Detroit have the worst run defense, and we couldn't get 100 yards on them? I didn't get to see the game, so I'm shocked Forte only had 35 yards..

I don't know if anyone posted anything like this, but evidently Benson did an interview fairly recently with some words about his time with the Bears. Benson's time with the Bears Thoughts?

If the season ended today, the Bears would have the 6th pick, tied with NYG and SEA, so they would rotate picks every round. So they lost a 1st and 4th for Fields, and 7th with Miller, and got back a 5th for Miller. Since HOU is terrible, that ends up as a very high 5th. The Bears got Borom and Herbert in the 5th last year. With the following picks, I would love to see the new GM move down on either Pick 37 or 71 and pick up a 4th rounder. That would give them 5 picks in the top 150, which is decent. With those 5 picks, you get a WR1, CB2, C, S, and BPA (WR, CB, or ILB). I would be happy with a draft like that. They would still have a solid 6th rounder to use a…

I don't think we win this one, but I don't think we lose by 14. Trap game for Philly looking ahead to SEA. Mid 40's for game time temperature....Bear weather. Philly is #1 against the run, but that may be due to their early leads. Overall defenses are comparable in overall yards, but Philly has a bunch more INTs and PD's. Again, this may be due to their leads and teams needing to pass more against them. If our offense takes another step forward and our defense doesn't lay an egg, we will at least look competitive. It would be nice to see both sides of the ball play well in the same game. PHI 27-20

As bad as our season was, the scary part is we're likely do have damn near all significant players returning. The only significant contributor likely gone is Wale. He might resign, but considering we traded for Adams and we're saying all the right things about Melton . . . As far as I can tell, that's it for significant players. Pace is gone, but he quit being significant. Vasher's proven to be a mediocre corner. Is it worth eating his salary now? Pisa might go . . . or not. Isn't Adriant Peterson a free agent? It's amazing that we'll have the whole squad back with most of our starters returning.

  14. Here we go, fresh off the bye week, looking to extend to a 4-game winning streak, something we haven't seen with this team since Lovie's last season. In Miami, hot weather, tropical storm coming through before the game (hopefully it doesn't linger). Miami has lost their last two games 65-24 (NE and CIN), so we should have some chances on both sides of the ball. Ironically, our last two games, we have outscored opponents 64-24. Their leading rusher is Frank Gore, in sort of a 2-headed monster setup with Drake. Neither are very effective. Leading receivers are Stills and Wilson. Tannehill has 5 INTs, has been sacked 11 times and has lost 3 fumbles. Mack should h…

  15. My Scouting Report: The Vikings are coming off a bye, so I looked back at their last 3 games to see anything that stood out. First, they went 2-1 beating the Lions 24-9, losing to the Saints 30-20, and beating the Jets 37-17. Diggs had a rib injury against the Saints, DNP against the Lions, then had the bye. In their most recent game against the Lions, Stafford went for 25/36 for 199, no TD's or INTs, but he was sacked 10 times. Protection is going to be huge. I would like to see some planned rollouts and screens to keep the pass rush honest. On offense, they got Dalvin Cook going with 10/89 yds with Thielen being the highest targeted receiver with 7. The offens…

  17. Bears are currently 6.5 dogs in Las Vegas. The line seems about right unless you watched MNF. The Raiders looked terrible with only 213 yards on offense, most coming on 2x TD drives (159 yds) in the 3rd quarter. For the other 3 quarters, nothing. They looked like the Bears playing the Browns. Their first 7 drives (the entire first half) consisted of the following: 3 and out, punt 3 and out, punt 3 and out, punt 4 and out, turnover on downs 6 plays, punt 3 and out, punt 2 plays, end of half 26 total yards in the first half, down 21-0 On their only first down in the first half, a 21 yard gain to Waller, Waller got a 15-yard penalty for taunting lol. …

Our greatest conversation for a long time has been how do we get better. We've been having it for 15 years and running. I'd like to take a slightly different approach and ask, what is best for 2024? We already know what the needs are, but where should the sense of urgency be applied for 2024? The reason I'm choosing this year is because I don't think we'll be ready next year. So for this off-season, I'm identifying our top draft need as WR. Is it the weakest unit on the team? No, but it's close. WR's generally take time to transition to the NFL unless they have elite traits, so drafting one now with those traits will be nasty in year two. There is also go…

  19. We are finally put out of our misery for this season at around 3pm on Sunday. The Bears played GB tough the last time, but have not been the same team in weeks. Just like the 2nd game against DET and MIN, I don't see this one going too well. Game time temps are supposed to be in the low-20s to high teens with wind chills as low as 10 degrees. I can't see Santos making a kick longer than 40 yards. I expect them to dink and dunk, try to run the ball (won't be successful because of the OLine and Swift) and just survive the game without any major injuries. GB is playing for WC positioning, and it is a pretty big deal. It will be the difference between a …

I'm starting to hear rumors about free agent HB Nick Chubb going to Chicago. I've heard it from a few totally different sources, but no one yet like Adam Schefter. But it does make sense. One Cleveland reporter says he is hearing rumors that talks are heating up between Chubb and an "NFC North Team" without naming which one. It's a logical thing to speculate on. Maybe they are talking, still doesn't mean they will get a deal done, or maybe it's all smoke, i have no idea. But it makes sense. So I started watching Chubb's highlights, and as I'm sure we all know already the guy has been a beast. He was slowed down last year by a 2 year old devastating knee injury, and h…
