“We have a great relationship,” Trubisky said. “It all started last year, and it’s just going to keep growing better and better. It’s just that player-coach relationship, that constant communication and just me doing whatever he wants and envisions and translating that right to the field. "me doing whatever he wants". Can't see McMahon ever saying anything like that about Ditka. Different time but same place.

OK! Here's a purely optimistic scenario I probably don't believe in myself, but it COULD be true. With a large grain of salt... McCaskey sucks. That's why they hired Warren. Warren has been BIG 10 commissioner, and worked for the Vikings, knows a lot about football organizations, and has a lot of football contacts. People knew that McCaskey wasnt getting it done, so he got mostly fired and Warren was brought in to do a lot of what McCaskey used to do. When Warren got here, he gave Poles leeway and let him make moves. And Poles made bad choices, while Warren gathered power and influence. Now Warren is ready to start making his first moves. He deosnt deserve …

In another post, I mentioned how I felt unsettled over the way last season ended and this began. I know why now. Our identity is offense while the defense retools. Problem is, the 2 people at the forefront of the offense are knuckleheads.(Trestman and Cutler) Both made bonehead decisions that compromised our ability to win. After that, we still had a chance to win in OT and our dynamic duo could not come through. This does not bode well for a the confidence of our defense. Blood is in the water boys and fins are present. This week is going to be huge. I don't expect to go in and win at SF, but we will need to be competitive to start building trust and confi…

There are a few FAs out there that havent been signed and I cant figure out why? help me out Brian De LA Puente/C-he has played at a high level for two years and no interest. Having ties to Kromer ,wouldnt mind seeing him here. Eric Winston/RT- I always remember him as being a good player and at 30 not over the hill. Owen Daniels/TE- not sure he is done at age 31 but is a good pass catching TE Josh Freeman/QB- I know he is a tool, but actually showed some talent a couple of years ago and nobody is offering him a vet min? Andre Brown/RB- I know he was injured last year but came back and played well. Wouldnt mind him as a backup on the Bears.

this tit-for-tat flame war has BURNED out!! i'm sick of it and i assume others on here are also. it's repetitive/redundant and quite frankly boring as hell. the flames are as creative as copy and paste material from an instruction manual on how to use a sewing machine. watching three grown men go on for months trying to get in the last word on here is plainly enough. nobody gives a shit anymore who is right or wrong. all three of you contribute to this site when you give us Bear's info and are interesting and very informative and nobody wants anybody to leave. but you are wasting our time clicking on threads containing this BS. SOLUTION: i think there is …

Saw on the Bears site some Q & A w/ Turner. As would be expected, not a whole lot of earth shattering news, but hey, its slow as hell, and I think others are getting tired of Lucky and my's back and forth Check out the bears site for full Q & A, but some of the basics. Hester - Felt the light turned on for Hester in the final 6 weeks, and said it was then Hester simply began to play, rather than think. Very high on his future. Bennett - Asked by Bennett couldn't get playing time, Turner essentially said the game was just too fast for him. Over and over again, continued to say Bennett wasn't playing as fast, or at NFL speed. Did say it often takes p…

Source: Bears add QB Teel By Jeff Dickerson ESPNChicago.com Archive CHICAGO -- Working with only three quarterbacks for most of the offseason, the Bears opted to add another arm before reporting to training camp next week, agreeing to terms on a deal with free agent Mike Teel, a league source confirmed Tuesday night. The news was first reported by the Bergen Record. After a productive collegiate career at Rutgers, Teel was drafted in the sixth round by Seattle in 2009, and spent last season as the Seahawks' No. 3 quarterback. Teel, who did not play last year, was cut by Seattle in May and claimed off waivers by New England. The quarterback lasted only thr…

So George Whitfield, the QB coach, has said that he'd like to work with Cutler, going so far as to call him "arguably the most naturally gifted quarterback on the planet, maybe the most gifted since Elway." He thinks he could work with Cutler on mechanics and consistency and take his game to another level. For those of you who don't know Whitfield, he's Cam Newton's QB tutor right now, but don't judge him just by Newton. He also worked with Ben Roethlisberger during his suspension, and Roethlisberger came right back into the league playing some of his best football. Roethlisberger is a very similar player to Jay in a lot of ways - in the past he's tended to rely o…

I saw a discussion on Twitter that said Wentz only had 6 more completions than Trubisky in college, which I was surprised to hear. So I looked up their numbers: Wentz - 392-612, 64.1, 5115 yds, 8.4 Y/A, 45 TD, 14 INT Trubisky - 386-572, 67.5, 4762 yds, 8.3 Y/A, 41 TD, 10 INT So the whole lack of experience thing with Trubisky is sort of bogus. Also, I cannot believe Philly didn't get more crap for trading up for Wentz. He was an FCS QB who only played in 7 games and was a 5th year Senior. How the hell was this guy even a top rated QB? When I look back at old articles, they don't even mention he was a small school QB who was hurt and missed 8 games?…

Stats so far: Mitchell Trubisky - 34-48, 354, 70.8%, 7.4, 3-0 Mike Glennon - 26-44, 243, 59.1%, 5.5, 2-2 Glennon is a lock for opening day at this point, and will probably start the first few games. He definitely has some red flags that come out in the stats. 11% less in completion percentage (and he had easier throws), almost 2 yds less per attempt (dink and dunk game plan in game 2) and a TD-INT of 1:1. Those are all bad. You won't win very many games with those numbers. For the completion pct, that puts Glennon between Siemian and Osweiler/Bortles from 201. Ironically the same as Jay Cutler last year. That would be good for 30th for qualified leaders. Th…

I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on this. Here are the career stats for Manning and Grossman: > G QBRat Comp Att Pct Yds Y/G Y/A TD Int Sack Fum FumL Grossman 32 70.9 489 900 54.3 5907 184.6 6.6 31 33 56 18 10 Manning 57 73.4 987 1805 54.7 11385 199.7 6.3 77 64 93 34 12 On just a production standpoint, these two QBs are almost identical, however, Grossman has played a full season once, while Manning has 3 straight. Now even with all those games under his belt, it seems like Manning is where he will always be, an average QB with about a 75 QB Rati…

Being and LSU fan I have watched Daniels the last 2 years and he has made huge strides in his abilities. He appears to be ahead of Williams is about every stat. I never watched Williams play, so not looking at stats, why does everyone say he is so much better? Been waiting for some talk show guys to explain the difference but none have ever done it.

Based on Fox's comments last week, if Hoyer played well this week, he would keep the starting job. It will be interesting to see if they keep Cutler in street clothes. I am kind of torn on this. Do you play Cutler due to salary (and possibly as an audition), or do you play Hoyer with the intent to keep him as a bridging strategy going forward? Cutler is the oldest player on the roster now with Gould gone. Our Firesale would be a clown car on fire.... Who do we have that someone else would want? Young ($4.1mil)? Porter($4mil)? Miller($2.5mil)?

Not that it’s a huge surprise but Brady has officially said it’s over in NE. Does that mean anything for Chicago? We’ll soon see. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/sports/tom-brady-announces-he-leaving-new-england-patriots-n1161476

A QB I watched play last week and was impressed with his ability to throw the ball. He's not mobile and may not have the deep ball arm strength so he might drop a bit in the draft. Yet his abillty to hit receivers in stride in the short to intermediate game is very good. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-dra...ails-to-deliver

So I was looking into the free-agent QBs going into 2020. There are a lot of options with potential huge differences in salary cap hits. Take a look at the list below sorted by DVOA. The guys with asterisks are free agents and the guys with a carrot are potential cap casualties. To me, there is no point to add a guy who would essentially have the same production as Trubisky. Looking at the guys in his group, those are all the same type of performers, all underwhelming. So I would target no one worse than Keenum out of the available pool of (Keenum, Brissett, Rivers, Bridgewater, Moore, Carr, and Tannehill). If you reduced the candidate pool by age first, that w…

Are we still in QB Purgatory? This is Year #3. Trubisky is 25 yrs old, a year older than Watson and Mahomes. At this point, the lack of college reps is a moot point. He has the most NFL game experience of the 3. So that should make up for any lack of reps he had in college compared to the other two. Are we back at a place where we have a "he is what he is" QB? Grossman/Cutler, etc. From watching the game again from the All-22, there are just too many plays left on the field by Trubisky. I don't know the play call or the progression (either does PFF), but Trubisky is not passing the eyeball test. I don't know how he can't see wide-open receivers, or guys runnin…
