The Bears were trailing the Packers 17-14 a few weeks ago with refs aiding the Packers throughout the game. The Packers are 9-3 but are 2-2 in their last 4 games. In their last two their defense has been terrible, allowing 34 pts to the Vikings (who beat the Packers and lost to the Lions lol), and 28 to the Rams. The Packers are favored by 12.5, but I feel like this one will be decided by 10 or less. Rodgers has some sort of toe issue and it is going to be 33 degrees on Sunday Night. This team sucks in multiple areas, but has enough talent to surprise opponents. Several games were close. A few breaks here or there and this team is easily around .500. However, being around .500 every year is eventually what got Lovie fired. Nobody wants that again. So, the team needs to pull off a Herschel Walker trade IMO. But how much is too much? So there has been a lot of media energy on this lately, so I thought it deserved its own thread. It seems that the idea comes from a couple of data points, first Poles said during the Senior Bowl that they assess every position, every year, including QB. So from the trade Fields side, this is an indication that Poles is not all-in on Fields. That's it. On the flip side, Poles knows he loses some leverage if it is known that he is moving off the pick regardless. Figure I'd start a new thread just to capture some combine players who stood out to me. I haven't watched everything from day 1 yet and most of these guys I'll have to go find some film on. DT Dante Stills. Smooth athlete, maybe a bit of a tweener but could be a good depth option on day 3. DT. Calijah Kancey ran a 4.67 forty. I've got a little time on my hands this morning so here it goes. Bijan Robinson is a bigger faster stronger version of Christian McCaffry. Why not draft this talent? Everyone is hesitant to pay a RB , but you really don't have to worry about it until year 8, after the fifth year option and two years of franchising. He's the most complete offensive weapon in the draft. Why not?

I’ve never been so pumped and excited about having a quarterback the caliber of Caleb Williams since the Super Bowl Shuffle - 46 quarterbacks since then. I was happy about Justin Fields when we moved up to get him. I truly thought we have our “It” quarterback. Now, three years later, Fields is not “It.” He doesn’t have the vision of a quarterback. Picking Williams on the first pick will turn around the Chicago Bears’ misfortune of having bad to mediocre to good quarterbacks. Finally, we’ll have an “It” quarterback.

I'm thinking, without looking up individual arm lengths, that Poles favors longer armed prospects and wanted to have a discussion or thoughts on how he's choosing his prospects. Last year, we had a OT and several DL come through his draft process and I wanted to predict which Line prospects are Poles dudes. This year, the only OC prospects, that I can tell you off the top of my head with longer that 33" arms is PSU's center. JCP has average length and the other top two C prospects have below average length. Who recalls the arm length on Poles line targets? IIRC, we brought Wright in for a visit correct. Did we draft anybody that we didn't visit?

I don't really see a logical thread for tracking Williams progress. I'm was actually shocked as I read this. They certainly don't appear to be holding anything back with Williams. He's going to experience it all and that means they think he can handle it and they want him ready for anything in game 1. I figured first day in practice it's going to be kid gloves type of stuff like we've always seen before. If you all were watching MNF tonight, I guess the league is announcing that they are going to make a new rule effective immedietly that you will be suspended for a "Devastating" hit or a "Blow to the head." There having a big debate about it now on ESPN. This is a joke, a flat out joke. You can't legislate hitting in football. Now everything that these guys have been taught about hitting they can no longer do. So basically the next time Urlacher comes and lights up Roy Williams across the middle he's going to get suspended, even if he doesn't make contact with the helmet. Over my many years of watching Bears football I have had some real highs and a whole lotta lows but when it comes to me spiking the Bears cap on the ground or chucking it at the tube one player made me sicker than anyone when I watched his constant miscues. That was Lew Barnes who was a WR/returner on I think the 87 Bears team. I have bad mouthed Trent Dilfer for many years due to his Jay Cutler hate. Well pigs must be flying or I just hear Trent praise Jay Cutler. Trent raved about the new Jay- said if you watch the game film he is doing the right things, reading Defenses, mechanics etc etc Puts him right on the fringe of the Manning, Rodger, Breese and Brady level of QB's. Coming soon. Of the current Bears there are three names that I see pop up here and there. Forte, Jeffery and Cutler. Obviously Forte is the most logical (although I personally would hate it) as there are several teams in need of star RB. The article below makes it sound viable especially when you consider Denver and "our" apparent new familiarity of one another. And the way it appears Langford is gaining trust with the staff it makes Matt even more expendable. I realize this is a total left field comment, but these are two QB's, who some top NFL people (Greg Gabriel being one of) have raved about. Lynch is probably off the board, but Wentz is another guy who gets high marks. Both of these guys have a ton of talent and would benefit from an organization who has a stability in the coaching ranks and ideally the ability to be patient (as they need to develop). I only see this happening if they feel other positions are more needy in the draft. So we would have Miller, but cant expect him to play everyday. Daniel Brown shows some development. Braunbacker still to develop. So if we add Gersham at 28 , he is a very good blocker and still have receiving skills. He wont be very expensive so I see it as a viable option.
