OK, what we're seeing on this team is what many of us have been prognosticating for a while now. 1. Rex is not as good as Orton. But I don't fault him for the loss yesterday. He can only do what he can. This staff should have seen that floor and made moves accordingly running the ball more and taking the ball out of Rex's hands. 2. To say our D is piss poor, isn't fair to piss. I'll get into details, but the bottom line is this defense is awful. We're like the Pat's in SBXX. Doing everything we can to stop the run...at all costs. Thus, giving any QB we face everything they want. Time, options, birthday gifts, Christmas cards, free gasoline... 3.…

Personally, from what I have read, seen, and heard about Ron Turner, he's a pretty great offensive mind. His problem is inconsistency, boneheaded/very conservative play calling at times, and lack of weapons on offense. However, that last point might be the biggest reason why Turner has never taken off as an OC. I don't really remember the Bears from 93-96 as I was very young, but IIRC, we didn't have much offensive talent during those years. And those Illini teams he coached didn't have much talent on offense either (but that is kind of his fault considering they were his recruiting classes. Plus, I don't know if this is the case, but he might have given play calling…

Coming soon. Of the current Bears there are three names that I see pop up here and there. Forte, Jeffery and Cutler. Obviously Forte is the most logical (although I personally would hate it) as there are several teams in need of star RB. The article below makes it sound viable especially when you consider Denver and "our" apparent new familiarity of one another. And the way it appears Langford is gaining trust with the staff it makes Matt even more expendable. Haven't heard much about Jeffery as of late but admittedly could see him being dangled, especially if the team loses this weekend. And yes I did see some mention of Cutler as a possibility for trade to a team …

I realize this is a total left field comment, but these are two QB's, who some top NFL people (Greg Gabriel being one of) have raved about. Lynch is probably off the board, but Wentz is another guy who gets high marks. Both of these guys have a ton of talent and would benefit from an organization who has a stability in the coaching ranks and ideally the ability to be patient (as they need to develop). Given that we are getting a 2nd 1st round pick this year (i.e., White's return) and have a ton of money available to make free agent signings (including the ability to poach two young players from Denver's top D where Fox has an existing connection), would this actually be t…

Just scanning the web tonight catching on the rumor mill from the last week. Things I've seen of note from either Aaron Leming, Walterfootball, NFL.com, CBSSports, or just my own thoughts.... https://twitter.com/AaronLemingNFL?ref_src=...7Ctwgr%5Eauthor 1) Aaron Leming says Bears have strong interest in Ezekiel Elliot and he might be the pick unless a top 5 player falls. I like Elliot a lot but RB is not my first preference at #11. I have to say the tandem of Elliot and Langford both with power, speed, and quickness, would make life tough for defenses especially with the Oline players we picked up in FA. Elliot is outstanding on blitz pickup so he's the idea…

Seen a article that made many suggests on areas of need. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2693107...ee-agent-market They talk about J Gersham as a TE. I only see this happening if they feel other positions are more needy in the draft. So we would have Miller, but cant expect him to play everyday. Daniel Brown shows some development. Braunbacker still to develop. So if we add Gersham at 28 , he is a very good blocker and still have receiving skills. He wont be very expensive so I see it as a viable option. Remember we tried to sign him last year but went back to Arz riding a big year which they didnt have this year. Another interesting option is …

http://my.chicagotribune.com/#story/chi-em...-move-20130101/ Thought he was clear and has a vision on the type of upbeat coach he is looking for. Forget the 3-4, he would have to be convinced this current roster can be converted for that. He wants a coach that can be creative and make plays that fit the talent we have.

DJ Fluker: 6'4 7/8, 355 pounds, 36" 3/8 arms, 10" 1/4 hands, 87" wingspan. Think he's going 1st round now? Wow, impressive. Denard Robinson also has the biggest hands of any WR there.

With the loss of Melton, DT just became a little higher priority for adding talent. I scoped out a couple mock sites and put a wish list together. This coming offseason will be a handful for Emery and Meltons injury just added to that pressure. Rd 1 Timmy Jennigan DT FSU 6-2 298 Fits the mold of a 3T tackle the Bears look for, quick burst, disruptive. Rd 2 Justin Gilbert CB Ok SU 6-0 194 CB with size and experience. Rd 3 Hroniss Grasu C Oregon 6-3 294 Quick/athletic, also a great run blocker for Oregon's fast paced attack. Chip Kelly will also be looking for his anchor to make the line calls. Rd 4 Barrett Jackso…

ASHKUM brought this..... ....up yesterday, and I believe the response deserves it's own thread... After crunching numbers, Clayton is basically right. Once you add in the 4.8M needed for the draft, the Bears have 3.5M left. There's so much they can do as far as cuts and restructuring go though. Cutting Peppers ups that number to ~13.3 Cutting Bennett ups it to ~15.7 Cutting Bush ups it to 17.5 Cutting Podlesh ups it to 18.5 Then I think they'll extend BMarsh and they'll save at least 3M there bringing the total to ~21.5 If things play out they wa I said, 21.5 for free agents(remember I took draft money out), shoul…

Yes, I would actually do it. Whether you look at my username and sig and don't believe me that I want to make this work, I want this to happen. I've heard all the dopes say we could get like one team's pick for every round, which is obviously BS. But what could we actually get? I'm thinkin' a 2nd and a 3rd from a team. So we'd then have 1 1st, 2 2nds, 3 3rds, a 4th, a 5th, a 6th, and a 7th. Now, we can make that Derek Anderson trade and give up a 1st and a 3rd (no, we can't only give up 1 pick. if you want to try that, good luck getting him). With the Anderson trade, we now have a 2 2nds, 2 3rds, a 4th, a 5th, a 6th, and a 7th, which is still great! What do…

I'd love to see either Roy Schuening (OG), Dennis Dixon, or Mario Manningham in any combination for the Bears. My preference would be a combination of Roy Schuening and Mario Manningham. That would be outstanding.

A video is out on ESPN.com with Mel Kiper and Todd McShay discussing the draft. Surprisingly, Kiper picked the Bears as the team that helped itself the most for this year. He also said we had the best UDFA signing in Caleb Hanie, saying he has an NFL arm and could be a quality starter in the future. You know me, I could give a crap what Kiper says, but it was nice to see the good pub.
