Bears get their first look at RG3, first sightings of Cutler and Forte on the field this season, Chris Williams and J'Marcus Webb supposedly splitting time with the first team at LT.

Rumor out of Washington that Snyder is interested in Cutler and is considering swapping picks and sending us Kirk Cousins for Jay Cutler. I presume he is tired of drafting QB's and figures that would give the Skins a bit more stability. For us, Cousins is someone we could at least utilize a bit while we use the Redskins pick to draft a franchise QB (if think he is in this draft). Obviously no deal is going to be made now, but man that would be awesome!

Sorry guys...I'm sure I've asked a few times...But I've had 2 vacations in August that really threw me off... 1. Please let me know who/how/what etc I should pay 2. How are we settling the keeper kept? Is this during the draft? Before? Can I see a list of everyone's players they have an option to keep? Is it set up on the site? Thanks!

We get to see one of the MVP favorites in Hurts, who looks a lot like Fields in terms of performance. Philly just put up 48, 35, and 40 against NYG, TEN, and GB, so this does not bode well for our defense. I figure they will try to slow them down and make them run while the Bears run 60% of the time. Depending on player health, I figure this will be a closer game than expected, but the Bears still lose by 10. I am figuring 30-20 right now.

This guy might be an offensive genius but it won't matter if he continues to call games like this game and the one last week. The 7 pts that Atlanta got was from Cutler dropping back, getting the ball tipped and intercepted. Okay, that happens...NOT TO GOOD OCs it doesn't. We never should have been throwing at that point. We needed to run out the clock. 10 running plays against N.O.? And Forte had a 30 yd run early? WTF is this bunghole thinking? Look, this team has enough strikes against it, we don't need some dumbass calling games who is just out of touch with reality. The WRs this team has chosen to go to battle with just plain stink. Oh yeah, Sanzenwhoeverthehell…

This is a very creative offense. They bring out just about every formation, the wishbone, the wildcat etc.. Their unique running style makes Chad Pennington look like a Pro Bowler when he's really just like Kyle Orton if you think about it. I wish the Bears would develop a clever offense like this, that keeps the defense on their toes. Bring that OC over here

What if DT LEONARD WILLIAMS falls to the Bears at 7? I did two mocks and it happened twice. I also had this happen on fanspeak. Assume there are no partners for a trade down. They have to draft Williams, right? If so, that certainly would be a curveball to the draft plans. What would the rest of the draft have to be to alter the unexpected?

Given that we still have Ron "The Burner of Hope" Turner....maybe it's moot. But would you want Norm? He did do some nice things with Vince Young last year...not so much this year. I think I'd make the swtich personally. What are your thoughts?

Think Cam Newton has looked "Down" in his past few games? Smash him between Peppers and Briggs and see what that does.

Take it for what it is worth. Clearly the Bears and Ballard are interested. I think the Bears are lined up to meet with Ballard on Wednesday and are meeting with some other GM candidates today / tomorrow. My guess is by Friday Bears will introduce their new GM, if not sooner.

Texans agreed to terms with QB Rex Grossman on a one-year, $745,000 contract. We're guessing that Rex isn't being brought in to compete with Dan Orlovsky, who the Texans will pay about $3M this year. Grossman, 29, holds an awful career completion rate of 54.2 and a weak 6.4 career YPA. I don't know what the hell he is looking at on film, but there is no way only two or three of the picks are not Cutler's fault. I can think of two falling WRs, two wrong routes by WRs, one DPI not called, and the play where Hester ran into the Ump just off the top of my head.

I read an article on Sports Mockery with the suggestion that next year we could let go of Fuller. The opinion was based on his cap hit and the fact that if they do not have fans in the stands this year the cap number will go down by 12 mil instead of going up. We would save 11 mil against the cap if we would let him go next year. So if we have to cut some of our star players, who would go first? Last week, Jerry Angelo promised that the coming offseason would bring greater dedication to offensive talent and a close examination of the offensive game philosophy the Bears have displayed under this current regime and the previous 60+ years. Face it, Ron Turner ain't leavin'. The Sun-Times just posted some other notes from Bears OTAs. In the secondary, Woodny Turenne apparently looked good (you can see him doing drills in the rookie minicamp video, he's wearing #47) and Zack Bowman is back at corner. Apparently the move to FS was just a depth thing, like Idonije playing tackle since Harris and Harrison are out. I thought it would be fun to do a weekly or bi-weekly draft poll. I used Walterfootball.com to give us a choice of where they have them ranked. Walterfootball has decent rankings and they update every Thursday. Tomorrows version should be interesting to see where players shift to since the combine. I might post Talk Bears Mock version II over the weekend once the mock draft web pages all get updated. My votes as of today: Michael Johnson DE, Brian Robiskie WR, Donald Brown RB b/c they all were awesome at the combine.
