One thought on one play that really stood out to me. Orton drops back to pass, and is engulfed by a wave of attackers. Long beats St. Clair and reaches, pushing Orton up in the pocket, but that pocket in general is collapsing. I seriously could not even see him, but somehow he gets a little shuttle pass off to Forte. Forte takes it, then has one hell of a (I believe) 7 yard run after the catch, as he breaks tackles and pushes his way forward. After watching this play again on replay, a thought hit me which as much as anything, defines the difference this year from last. If Rex Grossman and Cedric Benson were in the game, does ANYONE believe we would have wal…

It seems the Williams brothers will be playing against us and I think our best way to defeat them is to wear them down by using the no-huddle offense quite a bit during the game.

Guys...take it for what it's worth... THE OFFENSE 1) Turner still out-thinks himself. I called more Bears' plays before they happened than I care to mention. If I can do it, surely the other teams can do it. That's the major reason, IMHO, why the Bears offense is not scary. It's very rarely a surprise. The majority of the time when our offensive players do well, it's in spite of Turner, because the plays are very predictable. 1a) Playing AP makes no sense. Kevin Jones is active; let him get the carries when resting Forte. 1b) Booker drop, Hester at least on drop. I am sick of this argument that the other WRs can't "crack the starting lineup". At a certa…

Tell us who you like on this list and how they fit the bears needs or what role they could have? http://www.footballsfuture.com/freeagents.html 2009 NFL Free Agents By: Greg Davis Top Quarterbacks Kurt Warner, UFA, Arizona Cardinals The former MVP and Super Bowl winner is having a resurgent season in Arizona. He has 3,155 yards passing through ten games, having thrown 20 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. He has also posted a passer rating of 105.5. His yardage total is second in all of the NFL, while his touchdown total is second in the league and the passer rating is easily tops in the game. Warner will be looking for an extension from …

There's lots of bellowing about fixing the quarterback position. What bugs the hell out of me is that it's easy as hell to say, but not easy to fix. At LEAST 2/3's of the teams in the NFL are unhappy with their quarterback situation. (If not more) and the teams who are happy sure as hell ain't giving them up. How many teams would like to have Kyle Orton? At least two teams in our division would. For the sake of argument, I'm going to take Angelo at his word that he wants to solidify the QB situation. To me that means no old quarterbacks who'll be done in a year or two. So that would exclude Kurt Warner, Kerry Collins, and Jeff Garcia. According to thi…

If you post on or view the boards at FF, then don't answer say who these 2 are- I sort of stole the idea from there. Which would you rather have after 2 years, and why? I'll tell you who they are in 2-3 days or so.

The Sun Times and Tribune both had articles in today's paper talking about our secondary. Three things that were news: 1. Peanut Tillman is staying at cornerback (Not exactly breaking news, but it stops the rumors of him going to fs) 2. Danieal Manning is staying at nickel-back, not free safety (this is different then what Smith had said before) 3. Craig Steltz is penciled in as the starter at free safety with Payne at SS. First, this tells me our cornerback position is pretty damn strong. D Manning looked really good at nickel-back. We're hoping Vasher can return to form, and he'll be battling with Corey Graham who was pretty damn good last year. T…

  9. Up until now, most all the talk has been surrounding the top 4 OTs in the draft. Britton seemed like an after-thought. But his stock seems to be on the rise, and I am not sure how much, if at all, he would be considered a reach at 18 now. Assuming the top 4 are gone, should Britton be a consideration? Reading up on Britton was pretty interesting. As I can tell, there are two key knocks on him. (a) He comes from a spread offense, but I would argue that more and more teams are using this, and you can not dismiss players from the spread offenses. They may require more evaluation, but w/ so many colleges using spread systems, you have to still look at them. …

You see, nothing to worry about. We just played the #2 and #3 team in the Power Rankings, which means 28 other teams would also be 0-2 against those teams. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...aign=sf13361848

They are coming in. LS Patrick Scales - sort of surprising, I thought he had the job locked up, now it goes to Aaron Brewer. OL Jason Weaver - They obviously like Adams and Silatolu TE Tony Moeaki - sort of surprising as he played pretty solid in the preseason, with him gone Lasike makes it as a FB. WR Daniel Braverman - could still make the PS, but based on his performance, not a lot of good tape CB De’Vante Bausby - damn I really thought he had a chance, I think Glenn's experience pushed him out, hopefully he ends up on the PS. WR Marc Mariani - I am actually surprised here, thought he would stick around due to ST. Now it looks like it will…

I hate Rodgers. If he's hobbled the Bears should blitz all game and put a target on him. The Packers' OL gets away with more holding than any other team. This is the only game I actually want to win.

Once again, the board is active with draft buzz. I went back and read many of last years posts to get a laugh or felt impressed with some early insight. Early on was doubling up on ILBs, DBs, and linemen. A lot of talk about staying BPA also. Once we got closer to April, some were shocked to see QBs projected to go top 2 as it was thought the class beared no first rounders. With that in mind, what is your early bold or daring predictions the Bears do in rounds 1-3. Give us something to look at a year from now. My take: 1. DeShaun Watson QB - I have Myles Garrett going to Cle and SF taking Kizer for some odd reason if they hire McDaniels and he takes a more…

  18. First of all, the Bears staff knows more about the health of Kevin White than anyone else. So I'll hope for now he's healthy. If so, the Bears suddenly have turned a position of question into a position of perceived strength. -White (6'3", 216lbs) will be presumably be the split end (X). He's big enough and fast enough to shake off press coverage from the line. He's also the most athletic, and the guy who likely gets the one on one ball when Glennon is under fire. -Wright (5'10, 191lbs) seems perfectly suited for the slot (Y). When he was under Loggains in TN, he worked slot and put up 94 catches for over 1000 yards. That likely gives him the leg up in the…

Seems like he might have a lot of positives Pace tends to like... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/...t-lsus-pro-day/ Jamal Adams runs much faster at LSU’s pro day Posted by Darin Gantt on April 5, 2017, 11:58 AM EDT Getty Images Leonard Fournette’s weight isn’t the only thing that’s gone way down since the Scouting Combine. According to Mike Mayock of the NFL Network, LSU safety Jamal Adams ran his 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds. That’s impressive on its own, but it’s amazing considering he ran a 4.56 in Indianapolis a month ago. The clocks on campus were showing a 4.33 time for Adams but there’s traditionally some home-cooking…
