Pace said he will rebuild through the draft, so I dont think there will be any big free agent signing, but plenty of lower end signing to help redo the roster. In 3+ seasons w/ the Bears, Bradley never had more than 18 catches in a season. I don't think he could even get active this year, and then we cut him. He picked up w/ KC, and has very quickly stepped in and stepped up. This past week, Bradley had 9 for 81 and a score. In the last three weeks, he has 18-188-2. Not bad for a guy who could not even get active for us.

Till now I have been on board with drafting defense in the first. But with the additions thus far on the line and on defense I have been thinking: 1st Tavon Austin WR 2nd Best corner available My logic is that a Marshall and Jeffery split out and Austin in the slot with Bennett at tight end would give us a group of receivers that would be hard to stop. A couple things I'll be looking for in reports from the OTAs...(assuming these players show up) At the top of my list is Justin Fields with quick feet. That sounds odd for one of the fastest QBs in NFL history but I want to see him demonstrate quick change of direction with his feet on short passes. Snap to the right, snap to the left, just like an elite basketball defender. Keep his feet and throwing mechanics aligned as he goes through his reads and get rid of those poor habits of twisting his body and arm to hit a WR on a bubble screen or a late decision to hit the RB in the flat. So here's an interesting article breaking down Martz's tendencies as a playcaller in every season he's coached. It breaks down everything from the big issues (how many receptions went to each receiver, the carry split between the #1 and #2 RBs, what percentage of pass attempts ended in sacks or interceptions, etc.) to the really minute ones (like percentage of QB runs and TE end-arounds, stuff like that.) This feels like a must-win against a bad team. Flus teams normally win against bad teams at home, so this should be a win and some false hope. Then the remainder of the schedule hits. If the team that has (not) shown up for the last two weeks plays the rest of the year out, the NE game may be the final win. SF is getting healthy and SEA is not terrible. I would not be surprised with a 5-12 or 6-11 end of season record. Obviously they can figure things out and a team like GB may rest starters in Week 18, so the Bears could eek out another win or two to get to 7 or 8 wins, but that seems like the absolute ceiling right now.
