Bearstalk

Neutral field, even without Mitch, Akiem, Bilal, and Roquan, we should win this game. This is the Khalil and Eddy Revenge Game. Based on Mack's comments this week, he is going to be amped up for this one. I am expecting havoc from him all game and wouldn't be surprised to see him get a multi-sack effort and a bunch of pressures. All we need out of Chase is an average game without too many turnovers. We really need to get the running game going. As 5-point favorites, I will take the Bears winning 20-9 and the under. Using Sagarin Ratings: https://www.usatoday.com/sports/nfl/sagarin/ we are 7th and OAK is 25th. Using FBO, https://www.footballoutside…

I listen to a ton of bears podcasts and read almost every article written on them , I'm bored, and so many of these bears people place CB as one of their important needs. A lot of them are mocking a CB either as the first or second pick. My logic tells me that the bears are going all in on winning this year. As I look at needs, I have to look at who is already on the team. Tolliver, Burns, Robinson Xavier Crawford, Denmark, Fuller, Joseph, McManis, Skine, and Shelly. They have a lot of capital invested in the position already. Knowing which ones are good or not are still a question but they have many options At S they have 5 , 1 star and a backup that…

Here is a 4 round mock draft thats pretty interesting as a Bears fan. The link is http://www.drafttek.com/ Can't believe they have Jonathan Stewart lasting until the 2nd Round. I would also avoid Hart unless we cut Wolfe. 1-11 Andre Woodson QB Kentucky other guys available worth considering: Jeff Otah OT Pitt, Kenny Phillips SS Miami, Chris Williams OT Vand. 2-42 Michael Oher OT Miss other guys available worth considering: Gosder Cherilus OT BC, Jonathan Stewart RB Org, Mario Manningham WR Mich, 3-74 Michael Hart RB Mich 3-90 Michael Hamllin SS Clemson other guys available worth considering: Earl Bennett WR Vand, Dorien Bryant…

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/ for picture on boat New witness calls pepper spray 'ludicrous, no point for it' Often accused of being nonchalant in Chicago, Cedric Benson has been anything but laid-back trying to clear his name back home in Texas. Benson continued an aggressive approach to defending himself against charges of boating while intoxicated and resisting arrest by hiring a new attorney considered one of Austin's finest and most high-profile defense attorneys. Lawyer Sam Bassett already has interviewed 10 people who were on Benson's boat Saturday night when Benson was arrested on Lake Travis, outside Austin, and described, accordi…

Great news. Dvoracek and Harris in the middle, when healthy, could be one of the best tackle tandems in the league. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=4296

In 3+ seasons w/ the Bears, Bradley never had more than 18 catches in a season. I don't think he could even get active this year, and then we cut him. He picked up w/ KC, and has very quickly stepped in and stepped up. This past week, Bradley had 9 for 81 and a score. In the last three weeks, he has 18-188-2. Not bad for a guy who could not even get active for us.

It if funny how people were comparing Cutler and Griffin right after the Redskins loss, and how Griffin "toughed" it out and stayed in to play (even though he was completely worthless after the initial injury). http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2013...ee-acl-redskins They have to do a graft of his left patella to reconstruct the ACL in his right knee, which was previously injured and repaired. To me, this is a huge red flag. He is on his 2nd ACL surgery as a rookie, and the way he plays, he won't last very long in the league. He is not built like AP. To me, it was the wrong call, in the game, and for his career. They did not have a realis…

Pace said he will rebuild through the draft, so I dont think there will be any big free agent signing, but plenty of lower end signing to help redo the roster. We have decent amount of cap space, but way to many spots to fill,to spend big. QBs-We will NOT be bringing in a QB to compete with Cutler, simply none available. Backups: Matt Moore has history with Fox Brian Hoyer has history with our new QB coach Jake Locker has history with our new QB coach conclusion: I think we bring in one of these 3 OR draft one. RBs-I think Kary gets a chance to show what he can do and keep in mind Gase and Fox ha…

First off, let me just say this... I was pissed with Cutler's play this weekend too. And he has to get goddamn better or we're not going anywhere this season. With that said... Statistically Cutler is still a top QB in this league. Question what you want about how he handles himself during interviews or when you see him on the sidelines in the few shots of him we're shown, whatever. Facts are borne out by numbers. There's certainly room for improvement and he's got to get his head outta his ass on various picks but they weren't all his errors either. Marshall hasn't been 100% and he quit on one last week. This week on another of Jay's picks the Bears sideline…

I think he is a really good kid. It's unfortunate it hasn't worked out for him here. He is really needing a change of scenery. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...x082508.article Peace

Hard to see him go. But hard to keep him

PFF ranks us second to worst in pass blocking (6th best at run block, though). The bottom 3 on pass blocking: Long, Bushrod, Mills in that order. Mills being the worst as well as PFF's worst tackle in football. He leads the league in QB hurries surrendered by a fairly large margin; Bushrod is 10th worst and Mills has allowed twice as many. Slauson has been our best lineman, according to their stats, with nobody else having a markedly positive impact. Jay getting the ball out so quickly is what's making this line look so good....If we move on from Jay it's gotta be someone who gets rid of the ball just as quick as he does. I don't have the stats at hand, I stole …

Damn they look good!!! It's always a great day when #54 scores a TD. Merry Christmas!!!

This one could be another stinker. NE is actually the top defense the Bears will have faced yet. Then next week, the Bears get a better defense to play against in DAL. So Fields may be out or injured by Week 9 unless they fix this O-Line and protection. The Bears are known for making unknown QBs look good, so I expect a 300-yd, 2 TD game from Bailey Zappe while Fields stays on average for 190 yds passing on 15-24 passing, 1 TD, 1 INT, 5 sacks, 1 fumble, 55 rushing yards. The Patriots have a QB controversy. So far, Zappe has looked better than Jones, 4-1 TD-INT to 2-5 TD-INT for Jones. The big thing for Zappe is he is prone to fumbles with 3 already in onl…

Angelo mentioned his next order of business was bringing in some competition at WR. Who do you want? UFAs Matt Jones Torry Holt Brandon Lloyd Mike Furrey Drew Bennett Marvin Harrison Shaun McDonald DJ Hackett Koren Robinson Justin McCariens Ronald Curry Ashley Lelie Darrell Jackson Amani Toomer RFAs Malcolm Floyd (2nd round comp) Lance Moore (2nd round comp) Hank Baskett (2nd round comp) Demitrius Williams (4th round comp) I'd certainly like Holt, but I would also seriously consider Demitrius Williams at 4th round pick. He hasn't quite put it all together yet, but I like what I've seen from him in limited work in Baltimor…

Just a reminder that he leads the league in field goals (yes that is more a sign of our offense not scoring TD's) but he also leads the league in 50+ yard field goals and despite his two different 2 miss games, is still middle of the road in overall accuracy. It was a crappy game, but its amazing how so many want to just kick him to the curb after years of being one of the more accurate kickers in the league (while kicking in a relatively hostile weather environment).

Ryan Poles will bring Jalen Carter in for an interview.

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_12581741 I thought this was interesting and sort of related to Cutler.

On the draft trade chart the 7th is worth 1700. The 13th is worth 1150 and the 31st is worth 600 totalling 1750 deal would be slightly in our favour so we would gain the equilivant having the 26th pick in the 4th round. Or do you stay with the 7th because this player may be elite.

The more and more I think of it, the more I wouldn't mind if we took Rashard Mendenhall, RB out of Illinois. He is an absolute monster- a muscular, faster, better attituded Cedric Benson. However, I'd only do this if we could trade Benson to a team for a 2nd rounder, so that way, we could go Flacco in the 2nd, then somebody like Carl Nicks, then Roy Schuening. What are your thoughts on taking Mendy if we could get a 2nd, or 3rd, for Benson?
