Here is a prediction from Yahoo sports for Forte this year. If he lived up to this projection, would it fall short of you expectations, exceed your expectations, or is this what you were expecting? I am just curious what everyone is thinking Forte will offer the Bears in 2008.

He gone . . . Would have liked to see a draft pick, but no one else wanted the price tag. I say good luck to him and hope he doesn't go to a team in our division. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=5047383

CARDINALS SHOPPING BOLDIN Posted by Mike Florio on March 12, 2009, 3:59 p.m. Kurt Warner might get to keep his $2 million, after all. A league source tells us that the Arizona Cardinals are shopping receiver Anquan Boldin to potential trade partners. Warner recently has suggested that hed devote a portion of his salary to signing Boldin to a new contract. (We dont think Warner really means it.) Boldin, a six-year veteran, is signed through 2010. He has wanted for roughly a year a significant increase from his current range of $2.5 million to $3 million. With teammate Larry Fitzgerald at $10 million per year, Boldin is believed to want at least…

Surprised with this move. Wonder if it has anything to do with Adam and Leonard getting hurt in the last game.

It is difficult to make any significant changes during a regular week. You can tweak this or that, but larger scale changes are difficult during a regular week, when you have to spend about 1/2 the week specifically game planning for the opponent, rather than focusing too much on internal changes. So often teams look to the bye week as an opportunity to make larger scale changes. Also a time when many teams make coaching changes/adjustments, which also affect scheme. Anyway, will we make any significant changes, or will we continue to say our scheme and game planning are fine, and that it is all on execution. There is plenty of history with Lovie to …

I think the Bears like Matt Blanchard as the #3, but we still need a capable #2. I can't see us spending the money it would take to get (or being a very enticing landing spot for) fringe starters like Kolb, who is apparently soon to be released, or Fitzpatrick, who already has been. Campbell had his chance here. Remaining candidates include Byron Leftwich (probably not a great fit), Brady Quinn (I could see it), or Kellen Clemons (snore). Am I crazy to think the best remaining realistic FA option is (gasp!) Rex Grossman? Or maybe we just wait to see who gets released after the draft?

This is not supposed to fill your thoughts and needs for the Bears. This is to see if you can predict what JA will do in the draft (per az's challenge). My prediction of JA's picks: 1 - DB - Ras-I-Dowling - Virginia - JA thinks that other positions can wait, and all the Bears defense needs is a shutdown corner. Cutler stumbles. 2 - DT - Stephen Paea - Oregon State - Regardless of what he thinks/says, JA can't resist grabbing a DT. Cutler drops a single tear, then faints. 3 - OT - Marcus Gilbert - Florida - Even JA realizes that the OL needs some help. Cutler fist pumps...from his back. 4 - FS - Jaiquann Jarrett - Temple - Let's see, bad instincts, not v…

hey guys...long time no post. It looks like Shaun Alexander will be released by the Seahawks (Julius Jones and TJ Duckett signed to decent sized contracts), or traded for a low round pick. While Im not a huge fan, I think he has a little left in the tank and even thought hes older, has much more to offer than the backs we have now. Id much rather pick up a FA RB than take one in the draft; we need O lineman bad or nothing else matters and well be in the same position we were last year. RB's tend t be a dime a dozen nowadays and even a decent one will succeed given there are holes to run through (earnest Graham, Willie Parker, Ron Dayne, etc). I like the way Angelo is…

Listening earlier today, I caught an update segment on the SCORE. Terry Boers is reporting his source inside the Bears says that Lovie wanted to hire Martz and that Jerry veto'ed the move. Peace

Now that you know how all the teams thought, and how some picks went high, and some picks dropped, what would you have done differently? The Rules: -No trades that didn't happen -Picks must be made based upon players available after the Bears pick in each round Who would you have picked?

This is pure speculation but the logic behind this deal makes sense from the Chiefs perspective if they have their sites set on a Superbowl in 2022. Proposal: Chiefs get Quinn. Bears get pick 96. (not good enough IMO) https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2955188-5-trades-nfl-teams-should-try-to-execute-before-the-2022-draft I see the Chiefs with 12 picks (albeit 4 in Rd 7). While the draft is a good one for edge rushers those who are ready to contribute as a rookie will be gone well before the end of Rd 1. Poles has a good idea of their urgency in finding a pass rusher, and that has only increased while watching the offseason trades in their divis…

I know that Mike Martz is supposedly all right with the current wide receivers that we have however, we had a chance to obtain two of the better receivers in league during the off-season and one of the two was just recently released. The question is would you send Devin Hester to Arizona in order to obtain Anquan Boldin and would you have signed T. J. Houshmandzadeh who was released by Seattle for some reason that is not completely clear. Seattle would have to pay Houshmanzadeh the majority of the salary that he would receive after signing the free agent contract last year since Houshmanzadeh was placed on waivers. I think with the fact that Hester return skills have d…

If this is the case and he is traded, what do you think we would get? My guess is a conditional 5th or 6th rounder. Last time we made a trade like this when we thought we had depth at a position we wound up regretting it later. Biggs is an idiot, but he makes some good points in the article. Article from Chicago Sun-Times

Just reading the Trib and they are saying Angelo doesn't act like he'll sign another o-lineman. If he was going to do that, wouldn't he have done it already? The Bears have not shown interest in signing a guard. We made offers to Colon & the LT from NO. No guards. Does this mean we're happy with Chris Williams at Guard? Unless something changes real quick, here's what we'll have: LT: The bad Frank Omiyale or rookie Carimi. Most experts project Carimi better suited to play RT. LG: The bad Chris Williams or the bad Lance Louis. C: Spencer: Most consider him worse then Kreutz. RG: Roberto Garza: I hope his age doesn't start to show RT: J W…
