I just pray Jenkins turns out to be another Jimbo Covert and not a Gabe Carimi. Fingers crossed.

Sounds like the reports of Green Bay's demise were greatly exaggerated. Simply false hopes for Bear Fans. Baring injury, they will be a contender once again. That means we need to wake up, get Fields in the starting lineup, and beat the crap out of the Pack. We HAVE the players on this roster to take charge of our division! Win the NFC title. And return to the Super Bowl.

I like the signing. Good #3 TE to add to the mix. I'm sure he was a cheap add.

I think they wanted to make sure they had a suitor. Let's face it, they had tried to trade him for the six months with no takers. He hits free agency next year. We save 1.2 million on cap and only suffer 500k dead money. I wonder what we got in return? Anything is better than letting him walk. I read on one site a swap of late round picks. One said we receive a late round pick. Two are totally different. I'm hoping for a 5th for a 7th? It's truly a shame. I had high expectations for him. I honestly thought he'd develop into a legit #1 WR.

New article up stating Goldman has confirmed he is anxious to join the Bears on the practice field. Seems his absence was do to family related issues. Good news, Bears fans! Eddie Goldman plans to report to training camp next week

We should have signed Robinson to a long term deal
Pixote replied to BearFan PHX's topic in Bearstalk
I agree. I'd love to know: What the Bears offered / What Robinson was asking for. I'm disappointed we might not have him after this year. -
The term "Talk is Cheap..." certainly applies when listening to off-season NFL analysis. However, I found this article encouraging, and would like to believe it is true: No, Matt Nagy does not hate running ball, that's fake news I truly believe that Montgomery will easily surpass 1000 yards rushing, despite Fields joining him with 500+ yards rushing to compliment his 4000 yards passing. (And no, I don't drink alcohol, take drugs, or smoke pot. I do consume a lot of Bears' Kool-Aid. )

You mean like all of us. If for no other reason, I can't wait until training camp and preseason games start so we will have fresh topics to discuss. If it hadn't been for the kick-ass draft we had this year, this board would be a ghost town waiting for the season to start.

Last year I would have been concerned but with our current group of RBs, I think we will be fine. Hopefully this will allow him to recover fully without a need to return to action before he is ready. I like our FA signing from KC and our draft pick at RB sounds promising.

Here is another article that shows how Fields is the top Rookie QB in this year's class making throws after first read: Data says Fields actually best rookie QB past first read

I'm going to enjoy watching this kid play BEARS football! I just found these videos on YouTube: This is the most violent man in college football Then, another less analytical but fun to watch: All-22 Film: Teven Jenkins Plays Football like He's Angry

I assume you guys who mention betting do so online. What site/service do you use? I've never placed a bet like this before but if the O/U is 7.5 I think I just might give it a go.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the is an unnamed league source suggesting Goldman is considering retiring at the ripe age of 27? Seriously? I certainly hope not. We need this guy back out on the field. It sounds like Bears NT Eddie Goldman’s future is in doubt

In regards to Jenkins, anyone want to take a guess as to what game he gets flagged for driving his man out of bounds and pancakes him? I loved watching the highlight video of him on the Bears' website showing him doing the same in a college game. Despite his coaches warning him that in the NFL that might get him tossed in a game, he's going to find it hard to harness the emotion he plays with. I give him 3 games. Short Highlight Video: Jenkins is Going to be a Beast!

Pretty much, hell, it's only a 15 minute drive from O'Hare Airport. You can also access it by bus or train from Chicago. Quite frankly, with the traffic congestion around Soldier Field, it will probably be easier to travel to Arlington Heights even if you live in Chicago.

That's right, perfect examples. The Jets and Giants share a stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. I should have remembered that. I once sold event tickets online. Sports tickets were big commissions. I gave it up because I couldn't stand Ticketmaster, who I promoted, scalping fans.

I thought I read someone post about the Bears putting in a bid to buy the Arlington International Racecourse as a possible location to build a new stadium but I don't see it. I'm sure most if not all of you are aware of the story. There are some fans upset saying that they don't want the Bears renamed the Arlington Heights Bears.???? I don't understand where they are coming from. The Dallas Cowboys Stadium is located in Arlington, Texas, and they remain the DALLAS Cowboys, not the Arlington Cowboys. I'm sure there are other examples. I see no reason to believe the Bears would change their name. Agree?

Yes, The Bears will have a fifth year option that they can exercise, and I pray Fields plays so damn good he earns a new contract before his fifth year. The amounts first round draft picks are slotted by the NFL & NFLPA CBA. Here is an interesting link that shows this years 1st round slotting: NFL Rookie Contracts for 2021 First Round Selections The fact that there is no offset language means that he will get his guaranteed money even if he is released before the end of his 4th year, allowing him to double-dip (getting paid full amount of guaranteed money by the Bears without the amount being reduced because of his new teams contract.)

Okay, once again my failing memory haunts me. We had a WR break his collar bone in preseason a few years ago. I believe, after it healed, he got injured again after returning to the lineup. Eventually I think the bears gave up on him. I hope Newsome isn't going to follow the same path. Can't remember the name of the player. I know you guys can solve the riddle for me. LOL On second thought, Was it Kevin White?

A lot of us, including myself, have voiced negative opinions of Quinn because he only produced 2 sacks last year. However I have read several articles, including the one I have linked below, stating in 2020 he was a top "disruptor" ( #10 with Aaron Donald #6). I've read other articles with him rated even higher. So I'm wondering if I need to give him some slack and hope his sacks increase to what it should be for a "top disruptor" which the article agrees is unusually low. I must admit I would have loved to have a much easier game in week one. The reason being I want Fields to start week one. With a tough game to start the season, I think it will keep him holding a clipboard. I doubt Nagy will throw him into such a tough matchup to start his career.

If your team cannot beat the top teams in regular season matchups, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

I seldom believe all that is reported in practice sessions by the coaching staff. You never hear negatives. Everything is superlative adjectives. Every player sounds like a future hall of famer. A G.O.A.T. That is until it is time to cut the roster down. However, on occasion you hear something that is factual and not subjective. I find this quote from ChicagoBears.com very encouraging in regards to J Fields progress: To me, on his first day working with the team, that's amazing!

ChiliBear, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I also lost a child, my daughter, who was only 47, just before last Christmas. When I was younger I was foolish to believe people who told me time would help me deal with the loss of my wife. I lost my wife in 1986. She was only 32. Seemingly perfectly healthy until she had a massive heart attack and could not be revived. Her loss still haunts me to this day. Stay strong for those who share your loss. In Tarik's case, he mentioned 2 nieces who will need his support going forward. I have no doubt he will stay strong for them.

Thanks for the video! This guy is really serious about taking care of his body. No wonder he can run a 4.4 and toss the ball 60 yds. downfield.
