I don't think he did too bad. He was 58% for 184 yards and 1TD (that was a terrible reversal) and 1 INT. He had ZERO running game (17 carries for 32 yards) and the oline was pathetic. What's worse is the playcalling was horrendous, why in the hell did Turner dial up 2 screens in a row?? I am not saying he set the world on fire, there is plenty to improve upon, but to say he sucked is stretching it. The Bears are 1-3 while leading after 3 quarters this year...that is terrible...
-
I'm at work so I didn't see it, but the radio announcer's aren't very complimentary of him...
-
It's an even worse sign when you have a +4 turnover ratio and are down by 7 with 2 minutes to play...Our oline is pathetic
-
I think he will do well, at least by this year's standard. I'm not expecting HoF numbers, but I would expect a solid outing where he shows enough to be given a shot next game. I think by the end of this 3 game stretch he will have shown enough to be the front-runner going into next year's TC. Outside of that, I am not predicting anything. Anyone who knows me will just accuse me of being an Orton homer if I go on...which I am...GO KYLE!!
-
Now it feels like Bearstalk...Nfo posting 25 posts a day...I think the biggest issues going into the offseason are fixing the Oline and getting someone...ANYONE...who can tackle as a safety. if we do that, we will at worst be competitive next year. If we can manage a few upgrades on O, then we may just have a shot at something.

That's what I am excited about. I want Kyle to play well and I want a chance to see what Bradley, Haas, and Wolfe can do with playing time. I don't think I will get all of that (For some reason Haas isn't getting a sniff from Turner and the boys) but That's my wish list.

Hopefully Bears Related - Joe Flacco - Fri - ESPN2
brletich replied to Clenched_CLAW's topic in Bearstalk
That is what I am hopeing...actually I could care less if the Bears get Flacco because the Bears couldn't develop Peyton Manning, let alone this guy. I just want to see a stud OT and OG in the first 3 rounds, preferrably OT in round 1. -
First off I just threw up all over my keyboard, give me a minute to clean it up... Thanks for that....how much do you wanna bet she asked for it rough??
-
I just don't see it happening. Nothing in the Bears' history even remotely leads me to believe that they would fork over dough to someone for that when that is what they are supposed to be paying Turner and the scouts for. I am not saying I would be opposed to it, but I just don't see it.

That's dang funny! I can't believe Nfo hasn't shown up yet...he normally can't go more than an hour or 2 without posting and it has been like 3 days. Weird!
-
Exactly...almost 6,300 posts...he must really hate work...
-
Exactly. He's been out for 11 weeks now, why risk it for 3 meaningless games? Shut him down and let him rest up for when the games matter.

Kenny Williams has done an awful job since the World Series win. He has taken us from a team that should be a perrenial contender to a team competing with the Royals for the worst team in baseball...what a joke.
-
LOL He might get stuck with the George O'Leary complex if we do that, because the only way he even gets another interview is if we lie heavily on the resume.
-
You should have seen Bearstalk where most of us came from then...it was very active. When Nfoligno gets his end in gear and shows up he will have at least 10 posts a day all by himself...usually arguing with himself just for the sake of arguing!

Falcons seek stability after Petrino's sudden departure
brletich replied to DrunkBomber's topic in Bearstalk
He didn't even bother to tell his players he was leaving...what a joke. I hope Samuri gets it, though I would LOVE to have him coach the Bears. That is a pipe dream however...for some reason the Bears like to alienate themselves from the '85 team. Big mistake in my book to do that to some of your team's biggest heros... -
Yes but look back at those players...none of the were HIS players. The players he wants that he thinks fit his system get to play longer, even when it is apparent that they suck (i.e. Adam Archuleta). Lovie is strictly loyal to his guys, and everyone else can get out of the way.
-
I think Berrian is going to get paid hard by someone this off season. He has speed, and speed gets paid, period. Someone (can you say Al Davis or Jerry Jones?) will pay him a lot more than we will and he will be gone. I can really see Dallas, where Terry Glenn is on his last leg (almost literally), making a play for him. Unless he signs before the end of the season (HAHA) he will be gone.
-
I agree and will say that we should win this game. We played like a load of dung last game and they barely beat us. AP going off for 1,000 yards on us sucked and was embarassing. I think we will play better this time around. I think Orton will play well against their pass defense, they are not that good. AP and Wolfe will probably not be all that effective against their run D, so Orton will need to step up in his first start in 2 years for the Bears to win. I think he will.
-
Frankly I can see the Bears trying just that, but someone will take a chance on him because the whole league knows the Bears SUCK at developing QB's...so why would he take a small incentive deal to stay here? He isn't exactly the most beloved figure in Chicago history ya know...
-
I would do the same WMB...but do you really see Lovie " No Way would I hire an offensive consultant" Smith doing that? He is almost as stubborn as Jauron when it comes to "his" guys/system (see Adam Archuleta, Bob Babich, Cover 2 system with no viable safeties, etc...).
-
I just don't get Lovie...why the dumb personnel decisions? Let Vasher rest until off season conditioning...why risk getting him seriously injured to play in 3 meaningless games? He tore a groin (Man I flinch just typing that), if he is tentative on it he might end up hurting something else while trying to compensate for it. Sit him and play Graham and McBride. Anyone else notice that JA's only gems seem to be late round or small school DB'?
-
Look at it this way cracker...we all have a head start on Nfo when he finally gets here!
-
'm not surprised either, but the way he did it proved that he has no class. He left without even letting his players know. He called a meeting with his assistants, said I quit to go to Arkansas, then walked out...the guy is a d-bag. I can understand wanting to leave, but at least be a man about it and tell your players first.
