Mike McCaskey Indicated rebuild will be longer
Did two fanspeak mocks taking McCaskey's word of long haul. If the top QB falls, the Bears will have to consider it. Wanted to have an idea how the rest of the draft would play out. Matt Miller: notable twitter scout 1-Carson Wentz QB 2-William Jackson CB 3-Chris Jones DT 4-Miles Killebrew SS 5-Scoobey Wright LB 6-Vadal Alexander G 6-Dadi Nicholas OLB 6-Jake McGee TE 7-Tyler Johnstone OT CBS 1-Carson Wentz QB 2-Jarron Reed DT 3-Su'a Cravens LB 4-Jayron Kearse SS 5-James Bradberry CB 6-Willie Beavers OT 6-Anthony Zettel DT 6-Brandon Shell G 7-Josh Forrest LB

M Bennett about to be traded
I understand not wanting to keep a malcontent, but I think it opens a door for others wanting something different from what they signed on for. Hope they get real value from a trade and not a 6th. New England likes TEs, I bet they are keeping an eye on this.

March 1st Mocks
I think drafting a late round prospect would be best this year. Dadi Nicholas or Travis Feeney are two speed guys that can be developed while Houston, Young, and McPhee take on the majority of the role. Next draft, Young comes off the books and investing higher is more feasible.

Here is a Aaron Lemmings complete offseason projection
Lemming is a great twitter follow. I like his plan, even though I would prefer to use that 3rd elsewhere. That would be the "bogey" pick; could be a huge hit. Jaylon Smith would probably go earlier, some team will take that risk before.

March 1st Mocks
Any player should be in play if we truly think BPA, including QB. I am more of a needs guy myself. If I get an extra $500, I don't buy the newest best TV, because my 15 year old tube TV still works and I can only watch one...lol. I also don't like to over spend, so if there is not a need at #11, they really need to find someone looking for TV's to trade with.

Would you trade OUT of the first?
As SCS said if Jack, Buckner, or Ramsey...(and Stanley) are there, you do not trade. Otherwise 15-22 would be a sweet spot. 1-22-Will Jackson CB 2a-Vernon Butler DT 2b-Su'a Cravens LB 3-Jayron Kearse SS 3-Jaylon Smith LB(4,5,6,6 trade up) 4-Chris Westerman G 5-Tyler Erving RB 6-Tyler Johnstone OT 7-Aguayo K

Could the Bears get screwed at 11?
I mentioned earlier how the Bears liked this kid as well as other teams. His combine results show why they did and he has now put himself into first round considerations. I personally do not want CB in rd1, since I think DL/LB are bigger needs, but if we can trade down his name becomes relevant.

Would you trade OUT of the first?
If the draft fell with your scenerio, that would be nice. Nkimdiche and Smith were both top 5 prospects early in the college season.

2016 Everyone Agrees Mock
It would be tough to do on a forum for sure. It would be a basic request for each member that wants to participate to submit only one list with 20 players in order you feel you would rank them as a GM, only doing Round 1. We can leave it open a week or two, each member can edit their list until we decide to close it. It may be a waste of time, might be interesting. The top 5 seems locked down, but the slots 10-20 seems to have some variations on mocks. We can take our entries and add points to each slot and total up an average each prospect gets.

2016 Everyone Agrees Mock
With the combine over, would anyone be interested in doing something similar to this again? I was thinking more as a way to create a "big board" or "ranking" for 2-3 rounds. We could get creative and put grades/points on players also. The mock draft portion, we can do again after the heat of Free Agency cools down.

8 Free agents
The Bears will still have plenty of cap and I would rather use it this year myself to pay down AJ in the long haul. They have until July to finish his deal, up to March 9th on others. I dont think they have many other players available to negotiate with other than Shea though. They cannot talk to/extend their one year contracts (Miller, Unrein, Jenkins, Porter), until they have the chance to hit free agency.
-
8 Free agents
"ILB Trevathan $8mil too many questions around ILB and the club says they like SMC but, as far as I know, they haven't offered a contract. Money talks and the Bears aren't talking to Shea. I don't think they want to enter the draft with two question marks at ILB. I think they want SMC back but at a price below starter money, well below starter money because they want him to be the 3rd option to compete as a starter with a rookie. " Now that AJ has the tag applied, they will put him off and start on the next tier of players they want to retain. Just because we do not hear about contract talk doesn't mean they are not interested. I don't think it will take long to get a few done now. Shea may have had an offer from the Bears and wants to see what the market offers when it opens. I have heard the Jets were interested, we will see.

Scratch Muhammed Wilkerson off your list
I expected that to happen. He would have been a great talent addition, but I think Pace targets more mid-range players.

team speed
That is why I suggest Nicholas. OLB is not what this teams needs to invest in, late round pick with potentiàl, yes.
-
team speed
Spence is making a name, but I like Dadi Nicholas a litte later. That depends who's there at #11. Spence may be bpa. With money in FA, the Bears can make the jump this year. I don't think Bear fans are ready for this yet.
-
team speed
I like a few of those names. Jaye Howard DL, I think he will sign much friendlier than Malik Jackson. Danny Trevathan, he's the speed guy. His size/speed fits the Myles Jack or Su'a Cravens type. Tashaun Gibson, great story on the FS. Worked his way into being the best. As for Irving, I am not sold at adding more dollars to OLB. Add those three on D and get Osemele on the oline and we have a good rebuild core.

Mid Round QBs
Hackenberg caught a lot of crap lately. He decided to stay at PSU after all that went down and the school but should've moved on. The school chose a coach and offense that didn't work well for him. They also lost scholarships to bring in better talent. He was a #1 college recruit so he has the tools.

Ian Williams
The difference between the two is Jacksons stats go down when his team has the lead and Williams goes up when they are down. Could be what the philosophy in what their team asks for them. Jackson may be asked to hold and take doubles were Williams is free to attack. Regardless, we need playmakers. Whether that is in Williams or whoever. I just hate to see them bring in a guy and have to move another that played it well (Goldman).
-
Ian Williams
He would be a tough choice with the 2nd rd pick, but may be the best fit. I like Adolphus Washington also there. I am not sure on Ian Williams and moving Goldmann outside as mentioned. Goldman played well at NT and should only get better.

Alshon, Marcellus and more.. m
That would be interesting to see also. Talk about a team screwing a guys career. Would like to seem him redeem himself and give Chicago something back for the huge waste he has been. The kid has been a good sport the whole time too.
-
Alshon, Marcellus and more.. m
Undrafted FA that put in the work and effort to become a probowler. Seems like a good type to have on your team. He would play FS, would Amos be able to play the SS?
-
Alshon, Marcellus and more.. m
I am on the bandwagon to give him another shot if Fangio wants him. He needs to come cheap though and may have to play ST's.
-
Alshon, Marcellus and more.. m
I think the Bears do offer him top dollar with the cap space they have. If they dont reach a deal, the Bears have to put the franchise tag on him. Alshon has added pressure to get a long term deal with that company he signed on with (can't recall the name). I think that is why he sat many games to protect this investment.
-
Alshon, Marcellus and more.. m
A lot of Chicago Bear stories hitting the press today and I haven't seen any discussion here on it. * Bears are aggressively working on Alshon Jeffery's contract Will they reach an agreement before March 1, or apply the tag? * Pace and Fox foreshadowing the departure of Martellus Bennett? The didn't say much about looking forward to him, but said he is under contract * Zach Miller TE in the works for an extension? Pace said they want Miller back, will they meet halfway on a friendly deal for both? *Draft flexibility in Paces eyes With 9 picks in hand, Pace said they have flexibility to move up or down the draft this year. Wonder what he's thinking. Just a few I've seen, feel free to add or discuss.
