Chase looked good before a team could prep for him. The NFL is tough, people are paid well to exploit any weaknesses. I think all our QBs have been exposed. I really liked Watson, thought he'd be the next Russell Wilson, but injury would have been a negative thought. Mahomes was a wild card, liked he had professional athlete family. Mitch was a one year wonder at NC, but he has traits to grow. Just having a hard time seeing it since we haven't had a chance to experience it.

Just goes to show the deficiency of the team. A little of Long not being the same, Leno maybe a little lazy, and Daniel's learning the ropes. If Long and Leno were strong points, we can live a little waiting in Daniel's. If we can revive the line with IR-ing Long, maybe we can salvage the season. Have to have a strong run game whether you do it with screens and short passes or actually can pound the ball. Montgomery doesn't go down first contact, he gets the space he can be our guy.

Kwit showed he can play. Not sure if someone will look at him to start, but he can be a diamond in the right system.

How the Bears could look. Yes, heavy on OT because they could use 2 in the mix soon. 2- Prince Tega Wanogho OT Auburn 2- Jared Pickney TE Vanderbilt 4- Zach Robertson OT Arz St 5- Charle Snowden OLB Virg 5-Jalen Elliott S Norte Dame 6-Damon Armette CB Ohio St 6-Riley Neal QB Vanderbilt 6-Liam Eichenberg OT Notre Dame 7- Aaron Patrick OLB/DE Kentucky

Moving ahead is not going to be easy. With our scheduled FA losses, we should net some nice comp picks, but those come in play the following draft. I think they should have cut Davis and gone cheaper, they drafted Montgomery for a reason. With him, we lost a 4th rd comp pick that will be needed. As much as I would love to keep RRH, he might command a high end contract. It might be worth getting Bar into the mix early, Cowerd I would hold back so we can cheapen his deal. Shelly needs to make some progress as well as get Iggy going because I forecast Skrine as a one year holdover and Trevathan will most likely be a casualty. The Bears need to step up, or this might be a blow it up and start over situation and I dont think any of us can handle another one of those.

Winning makes it all look better, but since we have been on the W L teeter-totter, it all tastes bad when we are on the wrong end. The biggest issue in my opinion is how the oline has played. With that group vastly under performing, it has hampered production of the whole team. The QB, RB and receivers have no time. That brings 3 and outs, which puts the D back on the field and drains their gas, causes injury etc. It all points to Pace, he gambled in this group and lost. I hope they spend some time adjusting the oline, get it to average and things should look better.

The bend but not break D. Gave up yards to they got in the redzone but had many goal line stances

I have seen this from the Bears regarding other matters too. Like the Super Bowl trip if I recall correct. I wonder if it is an ownership thing? I think it comes down to our oline. They have been destroyed every game and it is not just one player. Would a good QB like Rodgers make the line look good or would he be on the IR?
-
If he feels good, I think so. The guy will play hurt, which isn't good.

The oline does need to have a great game for this to happen. They have been owned so far and everyone but Whitehair has me concerned. Montegomery may get the attention, good or bad, but it is mostly the men in the trenches that determine how it goes. So Daniels, Long, Leno and Massie need to show up, get the rookie a game ball.

I have a feeling the Bears will try to establish a run game this week by relying heavily on David Montgomery. This will be his chance to show the world that he can be the bell cow for the Bears. I see him getting 24 carries for 108 yds with a TD, one rec for 17 yds. They will want to get out of London healthy and with a W. That will get them into a bye week and a chance to recover.

Schefter: Roquan Smith was not himself at practice

Maybe family or friends pressuring him for money? Maybe he is thinking if this worth it? Telling them he would just walk away. -

Why not assume it is something like the Chicago/Vegas mob demanding he play bad to help throw the game. If he doesn't, they take a finger or worse. So he is nervous all week, doesn't know what to do. He speaks with the godfather, Pagano, and he says easy enough, we will not play you. You did your part and should be free after...and don't worry I have an idea how to get your backup to look like a superstar. -
Kap is out of the conversation right now. The Bears do not even know what Trubiskys time frame is. Shefter had news before Nagy even knew. Bray will be elevated and I could see a flier on Matt Cassel or another KC ex QB if it's one game. If Trubisky is out for the season or most of it, then the discussion might be real.

Whatever it was, he was on the sideline supporting the team. The players did not know until that morning, so Kwit was no prepared to start. As for what it is, we may never find out. Let's hope he is able to finish the season out strong. -
I predict MT will run for about 80 yds with one rush TD. The coverage will be tight if the Bears come out with the GB game plan. Mn will zone the WRs and bait the pass. Nagy needs to get MT rolling out often in moving RPOs with Cohen as his option. Use him in the slot with motion and keep Monty as the RB. This will be a nail biter, but Bears win 16-14.
