Absolutely. I've got no questions there. Like someone else pointed out no team carries a 2nd kicker. So there's the question. We all agree he isn't better right now but has more potential. But we picked up his contract from Tampa which is fully guaranteed. Which tells me the front office must think he can play better right now better than Barth. Otherwise why would you pick up his contract if you're not positive he can play right now better than Barth. My only question comes down to the contact bring guaranteed. That's the head scratcher. Typically you don't do that move unless you think he can play right now

I had the fiance record game for me I watched it over the weekend. Wow is all I can say. Trubisky obviously is the highlight but that sack by Floyd. He put on weight and that play flashed that he still had the speed to go with it. Very impressive. That Bullard play to blow up the ball carrier was something else coming straight up the gut like that. The oline as a whole played well. My only thing is the defense needs to create turnovers

1 small problem. We took on his Contract and Tampa is completely off the hook. $429k gtd. Granted it's not much more than minimum. But fully guaranteed. That's the odd part. Why would we bring him in on a guaranteed contract. The rest of it I get and I agree with the move overall. It's just the contract that has me scratching my head

Yeah I agree. The last 2 yrs I can't put on Fox. It was more based on design. We got rid of anyone who didn't fit the scheme we were looking to run, anyone on wrong side of 30 that there contract allowed us to cut without huge cap problems. Which is why Cutler had to wait til this yr. I think I've heard 80 of the 90 man roster has turned over since pace/fox took over. The last time we saw this much turn over in a short period of time I think was Seattle and they have done very well especially since they fixed the QB situation they had. Now I don't know if we will have the same luck but we can't keep changing up coaching staff every couple yrs. That is no way to win

I'm thinking about it. Might be stretching me as I would be doing 3. But I'm thinking about it

Tell the wife this is more important lol. But then again this coming from someone who's divorced. Maybe not the best person to get advice from. I really shouldn't do any money leagues either as we are in the middle of planning our wedding and honeymoon. I'll give it another week if we still haven't heard anything by then I'm out

According to PFF trubisky's adjusted completion % was 90.9%. highest ever recorded for a 1st preseason game for a rookie. Ahead of Carr and Wentz. If and this is a major IF. But if he performs as well as those 2 have very few of us will be complaining
-
You hit on a big point about trubisky. It's got nothing to do with the stats because well who cares it did mostly come against guys want probably won't make the team. But it was his ability to sense the pocket breaking down and moved. With Jay he would move but he would get happy toes and seemed to freak out. Trubisky just seemed so cool about it. Then it was his ability to hit receivers while on the move and with accuracy. I'll wait to see what happens in 8 days but a great start. And I'll say it again. None of us really want trubisky to get thrown into the fire right away but if Glennon continues to look like he did and trubisky continues this there will be enough pressure from all over to put him in

I Know the guys name was ary. But I'm horrible with who had what team name

Considering we have got through the 1st preseason game and we have yet to hear anything about the league I'm guessing it's not continuing on. Usually by now we've already established the draft.time and half of us would have paid by now
-
Not totally. He started off end of 1st half against 2nd string guys. But as the game is progressed your dead on.
-
Completing a 3rd and 18. Good how long has it been since we've seen a QB look this good. Even in preseason. So far after 3+ qtrs I tip the hat to pace.
-
It's hard not to come away extremely impressed with trubisky. And while it's just 1 preseason game it's hard to think if trubisky and Glennon have repeat performances how much long will it take fox to pull the string and put trubisky in. After all fox being on the hotseat can't just sit back and let the team continue to lose if Glennon continues to look like cutler
-
Based on that comment I'll put you in the column that you want cutler back and Glennon and trubisky are garbage
-
I'm looking at the rooks along with white and Glennon. I will remind myself that the defense hasn't really hit anyone so I won't be surprised if the defense looks sloppy in tackling
-
I heard that trubisky is very good at it however Glennon isn't to bad at himself
-
I can't wait to see what this kid can do. I see ppl saying how much of a great deep ball guy the kid is and combining that with Glennon and Tru who are light yrs better than Cutler ever was at could cause real trouble for a defense

At this point it's more questions than answers. Sad because he can truly be great but I'm seriously questioning his work ethic to reach such bars consistently

Glennon / Trubisky Had Good Weekend of Practices
bowlingtwig replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
I was saying the same thing about Glennon after we had signed him. To me it felt like he got the short end of the stick so to say. He might have drawn it again here in Chicago but at least this time it appears that he will get the chance to prove his worth -
I think there offensive line all comes down to the health of 1 guy. Pouncey. And unfortunately that's a huge question mark for them. Even then cutler might still be seeing ghost's in the back field considering how much we got him destroyed when he first joined us

I'm still driving truck over the road which is why I'm not able to watch. However I do have XM radio with the sports package so I can listen to every game -

Very true. Unfortunately I won't be able to watch many of the preseason games. I'll be listening on radio at least other than that I'm counting on you guys lol -
Yeah I heard today he also covered a lot of ground to deflect a pass. Only criticism I've heard regarding him in camp is he's not picking them off. But after last yr I'll settle for a guy who can at least deflect passes and not get burned every play

Glennon / Trubisky Had Good Weekend of Practices

Yeah I was hearing how much of a deep ball he's got with being accurate. And like that I'm hearing Tru has been staying after practice to continue working on his snaps from under center. Tells me that he knows what his faults are and he's willing to work on it. I'm a little excited to see how the position shakes out by mid season -
I think your right about that being the only spot he'd come back to. It's funny listening to Miami fans. Half think they are getting the Messiah all because gase got Cutler to work pretty well in his system. And the other half well let's just say they are questioning there membership as a dolphins fan. Lol. I've got 1 friend that thinks he's the Messiah. I've been trying to warn him about what they are realistically getting in Cutler.
