  1. I'll add that a tackling dummy does not commit holding or false starts either!
  2. Absolutely agree with this! I was telling a friend that Mitch Trubisky reminds me of David Carr and I hope the Bears don't ruin him like the Texans ruined Carr.
  3. Fox is a very solid NFL head coach and a strong experienced leader, Dowell is the weak link and we know that to be the truth. The bears are a much younger and have a lot of injuries. With that said they have been competitive despite being their own worst enemy at times but there is finally some young talent to be excited about. Pace needs to replace Barf and Lowgaims now!
  4. We need better pass protection, play calling and healthy WR and to draft of one early next year.
  5. You mean Connor Barf! He has to go! Now!
  6. The first change the Bears need to make this season is to cut Connor BARF and get a real kicker. I'm mean they brought in Phillips as an undrafted K and don't even recall him getting any opportunities in preseason.
  7. Not only was that a touchdown but Miller looked like he broke his leg making that tremendous play. That TD was more clear than the fumble ruled not a fumble as the replay never showed the Saints running back knees touch the turf in the first half. Awful officiating.
  8. The only thing the Bears have done right so far is the National Anthem!
  9. Glennon is garbage and I'm done with him! Time to start Trubisky week 5!
  10. Glennon is garbage and I'm done with him! Time to start Trubisky week 5!
  11. To quote someone I greatly despies, "what difference does it make at this point? I say NO to trading for a WR and Pace needs to not shortcut the rebuilding process. So far I think Ryan has doe a nice job with FA and many of his draft picks. Why would we trade for a WR when the Bears could have kept AJ or traded him for another WR or position of need? In addition to my first point our current starting QB has no pocket awareness which complements his Jimmy Hoffa-esque cement feet!
  12. Glennon holds the ball way too long, is erratic with his throws and not very strong as is easily sacked.
  13. Maybe, if MG has a very strong season Pace and the MT is ready and prosperous perhaps then Pace can eventually Trade Glennon to the Broncos and get back two first rounders! I know pipe dream but that is what the preseason-eve is about!
  14. I hope Jay takes the dolphins to the Superbow! He was our best QB since Erik Kramer and Jim Miller and I'll never understand why Bear fans are so hostile towards Cutty.
  15. Ranked 5th from the bottom of the entire NFL???
  16. I agree with Stinger's assessment as there is no doubt this team has more depth and talent than we have had in years. And it is also much more balanced than the Lovie years when the defensive was the predominant unit and where resources where highly invested to the detriment of the other phases of the team. Pace has done an excellent job of bringing younger talent, more depth and creating financial flexibility! I'm excited about the Bears!

    WOW

We also need to acknowledge the pressure of not taking a QB, the top rated in the draft per Bears board regardless if we think Pace needed to make the trade or not is a major factor here. In all honesty, Pace is in the position of damned if he does and damned if he does not Draft a QB especially after moving on from Jay Cutler and signing an unproven veteran in the offseason. Let's say Pace decided to play it safe and picked a defensive player and passed on the QB, the defensive player never lives up to his expectations and the QB turns out to be a perennial top 10 starter in the league for years but for another organization and potential NFC rival. Remember Pace is a young GM and I think if this scenario played out he has lost a tremendous amount of credibility as being the top talent evaluator in the organization and would be harder to keep his job or get a new one especially when you factor in the paramount importance of having a talented QB who is both a winner and leader of men. If Mitch T. becomes an average QB at best then Pace can always say Trubisky had the best measurables, talent, and intangibles of all QB prospects in 2017 and our whole scouting department was on board with this assessment. Pace would obviously follow that point with something like, we all know that the draft is a gamble and given the position our franchise was in we needed to accept that and take the opportunity to draft a potential franchise QB which is always the catalyst to becoming a championship caliber team.
  18. Connor, I think you meant Chiefs but completely agree with your point. I think Bears nation is just worried about being patient and developing this QB properly ala Aaron Rodgers with Green Bay who spent nearly 4 years behind Brett Favre before getting his chance. I'll admit that I am worried that the Bears may not have the patience nor staff to develop a franchise QB since recent history has proven they could not in the past with players like Rex Grossman for example. We fans have been so conditioned to expect to draft mostly Defensive players every year over the past few decades that it feels awkward and so strange when the new regime does this unimaginable think and trades up to pick a QB. What will be even harder for fans will be to accept and be patient with regards to expectations and not to pressure the organization to rush Mitch into the startng lien up both before he is ready mentally and before ensuring our OL is able to provide reliable pocket security like how Dallas was able to do for Prescott. Hopefully next year will be a great year to draft an franchise LT!
  19. I completely agree with Stinger and don't understand how we are not a much better team this year than last? Yes, the draft was strange as the Bears never trade up in the first round so I am still trying to get my mind around that. But looking at each player drafted, there is something to like about all of them. Typical Bear fans complain about everything and do not appreciate that we have a GM trying to make this team better albeit in an unorthodox way. This team has a history of not taking QB's as well as not being to draft and develop a franchise one at that. I have been living in Denver now for nearly twenty years. Several years ago I really admired Mike Shanahan's aggressiveness when he identified a potential franchise QB and traded up in the first round to draft Jay Cutler. Too bad Shanny was not able to continue on with Jay but the rest is history. I still appreciate Jay Cutler and what he brought to the Bears but most Bears fans are to pessimistic to understand why. Now back to the recent draft and the direction of the Bears. Its just way to early to be overly critical of this draft class. The draft is always a gamble but I believe it will be a successful draft if we yeild 2-3 starters out of this class within the next two years and even more so if on of these starters is a legit NFL starting QB!

  21. Is there any chance Bears trade up to get Garrett and what would it cost to do so? Thoughts?
