  1. Organizationally speaking I want a relentless pursuit towards getting another championship as soon as possible. I want and expect a competent GM and front office who hires excellent football coaches who collectively can get the most talent out of the players on the roster. Ultimately, we as fans should want a winning culture and should not settle for less.
  2. I'm really tired of all the player bashing going on i.e. Cutler, Marshall and Briggs all suck etc. Have the players performed up-to expectations, not a one. I love all the Bears players until the day they put on another teams jersey. The real problems with the Bears has been a weak front office (with the exception of Cliff Stein) and coaching staff. The Bears as an organization have been out of balance for decades! Over the past 10-15 years we have had GM's and coaches with no apparent passion or leadership, and some that were completely incompetent! Other problems include having coaches that were poor game managers or flat out prideful in a bad way by not having scheme flexibility or by refusing to coach towards the collective strengths of the players on the roster. Through the past GM's roster mismanagement, the teams core talent has shifted from having very good to great Defense and Special Teams unit as a strength to a being a mediocre under performing offense while being terrible at just about everything else. Sure we had some really nice players on both side of the ball come through but overall winning was not sustainable. Changes needed to be made and this organization was long overdue for a major shakeup and for that I give George kudos. My hope is that Pace and Fox will work together on rectifying what has been ailing this organization which goes far beyond whether or not Jay Cutler is the QB this year or next. As a fan and outsider, I don't believe any of the current players are a legitimate cancer to the team but rather see these are signs of frustration which perhaps demonstrates some of the players actually care about winning. Losing wears on a team and without great leadership the locker room will get testy. It would be nice for a coach to be able to lean on his star players and veterans when the reality is not all men have what it takes to be a good and authentic leader. Leadership must start with the Head coach who is ultimately responsible for inspiring and creating a winning culture. Hence why Trestman could not be retained. Personally, I like Cutler and accept him for who he is, good but not great, until they day we have someone better to replace him. Remember, many experts and media folks said similar things about AJ Pierzinski, "jerk etc" but he was an integral part for the White Sox winning the World Series 10 years ago. I certainly would enjoy watching Jay play up to his potential with a good to excellent.... head coach, offensive coordinator, qb coach, defense coordinator, special teams coach, offensive line, play makers at WR, TE, and RB, and a top 10-12 defense for several years consistently. Unfortunately, this scenario has yet to happen but I think it could with Ryan Pace, John Fox, Vic Fangio and company. I'm already more confident in the new regime and hoping for a quick but sustainable turnaround. Bear Down!
  3. With the depth on D in this draft I'm still in favor of trading back a few times to acquire more picks. Here is my latest mock on fanspeak OTC premium: 6 - R1P16 OLB VIC BEASLEY CLEMSON 39 - R2P7 DE OWAMAGBE ODIGHIZUWA UCLA 59 - R2P27 DE HENRY ANDERSON STANFORD 71 - R3P7 CB JACOBY GLENN UCF 82 - R3P18 S CHRIS HACKETT TCU 103 - R4P7 S JAQUISKI TARTT SAMFORD 113 - R4P17 CB ERIC ROWE UTAH 135 - R5P7 RB DAVID JOHNSON NORTHERN IOWA 156 - R5P28 OLB JAKE RYAN MICHIGAN 167 - R6P7 C MAX GARCIA FLORIDA 199 - R7P7 DT LETERRIUS WALTON CENTRAL MICHIGAN
  4. 5. I fine with Marc Mariani returning kicks again next season and no need to draft a KR in the third round.

  8. Dez had control made a football move and then after making impact with the ground the ball popped up and he caught it again in the endzone! There was no clear evidence that showed the ball hitting the ground so the ruling on the field as a catch definatley should not have been overturned unless they were going to call it a TD. Terrible break for the cowboys whom I despises only slightly less than the Packers.
  9. Why not have Pace report directly to George?
  10. Favors no specific philosophy but a coach that can adjust his defense to the players vs. pigeon hole his players into the scheme. (I lean this to meaning a guy like Bowles who has made it all work, injuries, 3-4 / 4-3, etc). This is a very important statement that I really agree with and believe in philosophically speaking.....and if Pace hires a coach that knows how to maximize the talents of his 53 man roster irregardless of his scheme that is how you can turn around a team much faster and have sustainable success.
  11. Is this a fact or what you hear by radio sport talk show hosts and sport writers who don't like BM? Do you you have a legit insider that specifically told you this? Fact, losing makes it harder for players to work together from a team prospective especially when you have a Head Coach with no leadership ability i.e. Trestman. I would not get of BM unless he truly was detrimental to the team and organization not just because he rubs the media the wrong way.
  12. With all the media talk and speculation that Ballard was almost a sure thing I find myself feeling a little letdown learning the Bears have hired Pace even though I have no clue who is the best candidate for GM. Did anyone else mentally prepare for Ballard to be announced as GM and been caught off guard and a little taken back by learning it will be Pace?

  15. Couldn't agree more CrackerDog! Trading Cutler or cutting him is not going to make this team better and would be an irresponsible football decision to do so without a better replacement. I have high expectations for Jay and will root for him to succeed as long as he is a Bear. The rest of the fans should do the same.
  16. This coming from someone who thinks Josh McDaniel s would be a good head coach. Terrible analogy!
  17. Sure Jay is far from perfect but he is not awful nor the sole reason the bears are in the state of mediocrity.
  18. I was thinking about Rivera as well while watching the Panthers Cards Game and I totally agree with you. Perhaps Lovie ego felt threatened and wanted his way or highway. Firing Rivera was definitely a very stupid and costly mistake for this franchise.
  19. What is a joke is watching the AZ vs CAR playoff game and the Cardinals QB play. So tell me how Cutler destroyed this team and why he is the reason the Bears were 5-11?
  20. I want an almost exclusive defensive draft including DE, MLB, FS, SS, CB, and OL AND maybe a qb in rounds 4-5 Hogan or Grayson.
  21. I hope Bears interview Gary Kubiak for head coach. He has lots of experience and for an offensive coach seems to understand the importance of having a good defense.
  22. Absolutely, happy new year to this forum. Good to have Jason back and would be nice if brainbear and bearsox came back also. Go Bears!
