    Mock Drafts

With this deep draft Poles should trade down ; probably more than once. There are a lot of fast productive WR’s that will be available later. here is my latest mock: My Selections 63 Round: 2 Christian Watson WR | North Dakota State TRADE 71 Round: 3 Jalen Tolbert WR | South Alabama 95 Round: 3 Brandon Smith LB | Penn State TRADE 101 Round: 3 Kellen Diesch OT | Arizona State TRADE 147 Round: 5 Jermaine Waller CB | Virginia Tech 149 Round: 5 Yusuf Corker S | Kentucky 157 Round: 5 Zyon McCollum CB | Sam Houston State TRADE 173 Round: 5 Danny Gray WR | SMU TRADE 186 Round: 6 Mike Rose LB | Iowa State TRADE 195 Round: 6 Quentin Lake S | UCLA TRADE 219 Round: 7 James Mitchell TE | Virginia Tech TRADE 232 Round: 7 Logan Bruss IOL | Wisconsin TRADE Round 1
  2. I like and respect Lovie but it was time for a change but the timing was certainly suspect when the Bears fired him. Hopefully Smith has learned to be more adaptable going forward. Lovie has a really cool beard!
  3. What are your thoughts about Kellen Moore?

    2021 Choice

The blue pill option but at what cost? If the cost is “, Justin continues to get sacked and pounded so much that we begin adapting the old phrase “Good Rex / Bad Rex” before this kid ever gets a chance to be “Good Justin?”
  5. Thanks for sharing! I bet this is George’s standard reply. Sadly, the concerns you brought up then are still relevant now.
  6. MadLith, Would you be willing to post the letter George sent you in response to your first letter and if he replies to the latest one? Would be interesting to know what George had to say!
  7. Biggest problem with Nagy is, well Nagy! Wish his personal mantra wasn't “be you.” Not only does it rhyme with poo, just wish it was more on the “be like”; “Sean Payton” or “Sean MacVay” or really anybody but “be you.” Matt Nagy’s offense play calling make former Bears OC’s Gary Crowton and John Schoop offense look like the greatest show on turf! Good grief Charlie Brown, how long do Bears fans have to put up with total incompetence from top to bottom with this storied franchise? Nagy needs to go now before his rookie QB gets sacked 9 more times in his second start and he turns into “Bad Rex” before ever having a chance to be the “Good Rex!” Former Bears WR Muhsin Muhammad was wrong, Chicago, is where QB's go to die; not WRs! I had to turn off the game last weekend as it was just un-bearable to watch Fields get wrecked.
  8. Why is everyone wanting to cut Jimmy Graham? Didn't he have 8 TD’s last year? He is still very productive and a great redzone threat! Find another way to free up cap space like cutting Danny Trevethan.
  9. I agree! Between Angelo and Pace the Bears have made so many bad first round draft choices. Brian Urlacher has been one of the best first round picks in decades prior to Fields this year but there have been several very good defensive players chosen in the first round. TheBears have been very bad at picking offensive players in the first round. Here are the first round picks going back to 1990. 1990 6 Mark Carrier † S Southern California 1991 22 Stan Thomas OT Texas 1992 22 Alonzo Spellman DE Ohio State 1993 7 Curtis Conway WR Southern California 1994 11 John Thierry DE Alcorn State 1995 21 Rashaan Salaam HB Colorado 1996 13 Walt Harris† DB Mississippi State 1997 — No pick (traded to Seattle for Rick Mirer) [t] 1998 5 Curtis Enis HB Penn State 1999 12 Cade McNown QB UCLA 2000 9 Brian Urlacher ^ LB/S New Mexico 2001 8 David Terrell WR Michigan 2002 29 Marc Colombo OT Boston College 2003 14 Michael Haynes DE Penn State [v] 22 Rex Grossman QB Florida [v] 2004 14 Tommie Harris † DT Oklahoma 2005 4 Cedric Benson HB Texas 2006 — No pick (traded to Buffalo for later picks) [w] 2007 31 Greg Olsen† TE Miami 2008 14 Chris Williams OT Vanderbilt 2009 — No pick (traded to Denver for Jay Cutler) [x] 2010 — 2011 29 Gabe Carimi OT Wisconsin 2012 19 Shea McClellin DE Boise State 2013 20 Kyle Long † OT Oregon 2014 14 Kyle Fuller † CB Virginia Tech 2015 7 Kevin White WR West Virginia 2016 9 Leonard Floyd LB Georgia 2017 2 Mitchell Trubisky † QB North Carolina 2018 8 Roquan Smith LB Georgia 2019 — No pick (traded to Oakland for Khalil Mack) 2020 — 2021 11 Justin Fields QB Ohio State Just look as some of these guys picked in round 1 who were total busts! Cade McNown David Terrell Kevin White Share McClellin and certainly don’t forget about the Rick Mirer trade with Seattle back in 1997!
  10. I have immense respect for Rodgers as a player but don’t like him. Probably because he destroys the Bears all the time. He maybe the greatest QB ever with only 1 SB win. Rodgers has put his body on the line year in and year out and he obviously feels the Packers management has not done enough to surround him with a chance to get back to the SB; Or maybe they do not value his opinion on personnel matters. Either way I respect his play and that he is standing up for what he believes is best for the teams’ chance at winning. I hope he ends up in the AFC and out of the NFC North! What if Jay Cutler would have stood up to Jerry Angelo and said get me some offensive lineman and some weapons? Yet, we seen year after year the Bears focus almost entirely on defense. I have to give Pace credit here for Drafting one of the top QB available and then adding another top tier OT.
  11. I would have been happier with a WR like Seth Williams over the VT running back. Did not feel RB was a need.

    OT Next

Love this pick and Teven Jenkins sounds like a great kid who will come in and work hard!
  13. Let's not forget that last year the Bears drafted some developmental OL in the 7th round. Lachavious "Pig" Simmons and Arlington Hambright have very cool names for O-lineman. Hopefully they will be able to contribute sooner than later.
  14. Is Stephen A. Smith a secret Bears Fan? Well he certainly does a superb job projecting the inner thoughts of all Bears super fans! http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=31362276
  15. Absolutely agree! I want another promising OT! Then draft a couple WRs in the 6th round!
  16. prev So Pace makes another deal to move up and get a first round rated OT who potential can play LT and got an early 5th rounder in return! Pace is having a great draft! Can anyone explain why so many draft sites have the Bears needing an OG? I think S, LB or Edge would be more of a need! CHI 2020 Record: 8-8, 2nd in NFC North Needs: QB, OT, *OG, WR, CB RD (PK) PLAYER SCHOOL POS 1 (11) Justin Fields Ohio State QB 2 (7) Teven Jenkins Oklahoma State OT 5 (7) 6 (24) 6 (37) 6 (44)
  17. Additionally, Justin Fields was not a QB that shot up the draft boards overnight and has been highly touted the past few seasons. Personally, I was wanting Mac Jones. Nothing wrong with Fields; It’s a solid pick and hard to be down on.
  18. Rounds 2 & 3 OT must be addressed!
  19. I knew Pace would move up for a QB but at least the Bears got a really good QB prospect and didn’t entirely mortgage the future to do so. The Bears acquired the No. 11 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft from the New York Giants in exchange for the No. 20 pick, a fifth-round pick (No. 164) and 2022 first-round and fourth-round selections. Chicagoused the 11th pick to draft Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields

  21. Wow - Falcons just picked TE Kyle Pitts??? Lol
  22. Apparently your nightmare is SF’s reality! Trey Lance is only 20 years old and is the 3rd overall pick? Wow!
  23. Precisely! Washington did this a few years ago when they drafted RG3 and Cousins! It ultimately was Cousins who became the dependable starter. In my opinion, GM’s are putting too much weight on getting that 5th year option and more often then not they are reaching for QB’s in round 1. I certainly understand why they do this but if they could just do the opposite and only select first rounders based on merit; then players who need to be developed can do so under the tutelage of NFL coaches. What’s the worst thing that can happen? You either draft a player in his accurate slot / round commensurate with his current skill level to be developed as a bargain or GM’s can continue to chase and overpay when the player is clearly not ready to start while paying the first round price tag. I’ll call this the Mitch Trubisky effect! What good is the fifth year option if a player is not a star? Proven talent especially at QB will always be paid and there is no way getting around this; but why put all the house money and future at risk on one round? That is why in my mock I chose to move down to solidly the offensive line (OT’s) and then chose to draft back to back QB’s to carry a clipboard and be developed! Hopefully, one QB be will emerge and overtake the veteran as the future starting QB! If somehow both QBs develop as hoped then this strategy will pay dividends 10 fold and set the franchise up for sustainable success.
