  1. Again, not saying your wrong but there is at-least NFL game tape on the Bears current DT's and Pace may not want to mortgage their first Draft at number seven with a boom or bust pick that some feel about the player that could be available there especially if the top 3 defensive studs are off the board. Many experts project Shelton mid first round as do they with Gurley pre ACL.
  2. SCS - your assuming that out of the current DT's on the roster that they can not play NT, we simply do not know this or what the Bears feel about the position. My mock had three DT's that are versatile to play DE on the 3-4 as well.
  3. SCS, in this example let's assume the Bears really like Gurley but not at 7 and don't want to wait and risk he may be available later similar to how Emery felt about the Kyle Long pick two years ago, then you get your man. In this scenario, Bears could not work out a better deal but managed to trade back to mid first round. I ran the mock assuming the Bears wanted Gurley and after their due diligence felt he could be added to the mix year one and then be the #1 next year. Additionally, many analyst feel their is not much separation in the DE/OLB class or the top 5 or so DT's in this years draft and decided trading back to acquire more picks while taking combo BPA & need to add much need talent to the roster was the best way to begin a quick rebuild. Specifically, I ignored OLB due to the shear numbers currently on the roster with the thought of addressing OLB / ILB next year via FA/Draft pending the performance analysis of 2015 play from current group. Other than that I think I accomplished filling many needs with quality prospects with 8 out of 12 draft picks were allocated to the Defense.
  4. Stinger, click on the link provided and you can see every pick for each team.
  5. With the state of the Bears, I'd listen to all offers for number 7 and if it made sense, i would consider trading back, then trading back again to stock pile as many picks as possible. That way I could target and draft BPA / high floor football players at multiple positions of need. http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/premium/draft.php?d=hzehha 15 - R1P15 RB TODD GURLEY GEORGIA 46 - R2P14 CB KEVIN JOHNSON WAKE FOREST 47 - R2P15 C HRONISS GRASU OREGON 71 - R3P7 CB IFO EKPRE-OLOMU OREGON 86 - R3P22 OT TY SAMBRAILO COLORADO STATE 103 - R4P7 S JAQUISKI TARTT SAMFORD 116 - R4P20 S ERIC ROWE UTAH 134 - R5P6 DT GABE WRIGHT AUBURN 141 - R5P13 DE SHAQUILLE RIDDICK WEST VIRGINIA 151 - R5P23 WR DEANDRE SMELTER GEORGIA TECH 167 - R6P7 DT DARIUS PHILON ARKANSAS 202 - R7P10 DT DEREK LOTT TENNESSEE-CHATTANOOGA Sign an UDFA Quaterback to develop like Chris Bonner from CSU-Pueblo http://denver.cbslocal.com/2015/03/08/csu-...ced-by-the-nfl/
  6. I'm down with this plan and want players drafted in the first 4 rounds that have high floors and can come in a challenge for starting positions at cb, dl, ol and s.
  7. Don't forget about Corndog Washington, according to teammates is the fastest DL on Bears and could be a good fit at rush OLB in 3-4 scheme as well. This is why in one of my Mock drafts a took 3 CB's because our secondary is pretty thin.
  8. Thanks, the fanspeak premium mock draft is a lot of fun for $5. I usually try and target certain players that I think would be a good fit for the Bears by both BPA & team need as well as the depth of talent at each position available in the draft. It can get stressful when you have two highly rated players on your board available to be selected but you can only choose one. This is where I have to decide to choose based on need / BPA knowing the one I pass over will not be there with the next pick. I also look at the depth of a position in the draft and if I can get a player of similar talent / position in the next round than that sometimes is worth the risk of taking the other position player.
  9. I just did a mock with this scenario traded back in first with saints and then again with San Diego in round two for more picks. Here is how the draft worked out with 9 selections: http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/premium/draft.php?d=mupchd YOUR PICKS 1: R1P13 OLB VIC BEASLEY CLEMSON 2: R1P31 CB MARCUS PETERS WASHINGTON 3: R2P16 CB KEVIN JOHNSON WAKE FOREST 4: R3P7 DE DANIELLE HUNTER LSU 5: R4P7 S JAQUISKI TARTT SAMFORD 6: R4P18 WR PHILLIP DORSETT MIAMI 7: R5P6 RB JAVORIUS ALLEN USC 8: R5P17 C B.J. FINNEY KANSAS STATE 9: R6P7 S ADRIAN AMOS PENN STATE
  10. Yeah, your right I did not say that quite right after re-reading my post, I should have stated the bears could be trying to create a smoke screen so they get the player they are actually targeting so a team does not jump in front of them.
  11. didn't know the details of the alleged case against Hardy.
  12. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12474789...-drew-rosenhaus who's the mystery team for Greg Hardy? Could he play in as a 3-4 DE and if so could the Bears be a team discretely negotiation or is Drew Rosenhaus playing games to run the price up? Hardy was on the commissioner's exempt list all year and charges were dropped so I don't know how Goodell could suspend him next season?
  13. Even if there is no way Chicago would not draft a QB at 7, you have a team rep at the pro day to imply interest so that you may have some leverage draft day in case teams inquire about trading.

    WWBBD?

After running several mock drafts on Fanspeaks' premium over the past several weeks I just can not help trading back for more picks. The Bears just have to many needs to only have 6 picks. Admittedly, I don't watch college football accept for an occasional bowl game. I just don't have the time so I us this time of year to cram before the draft! Nobody on this board has discussed the possibility of going with a CB for the second year in a row. The reason I am throwing this scenario out there is that I feel that the elite Defensive players i.e. Williams, Gregory, Fowler will be gone before the number 7 pick. If I was in Pace's shoes running my first draft I would rather take a players with a higher floor vs ceiling than to swing and miss ala one Phil Emery did on Shea McClellin. So, I asked myself what would Bill Belichick do with the 7th overall Pick? I think Bill would strongly consider moving back several times to infuse a team that is rebuilding with is many possible picks as possible while going best High floor / low ceiling football players as he could and that is what I have done with this latest mock. Feel free to debate the picks including what you like / dislike or would have done differently. http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/premium/draft.php?d=egrgsm 13 - R1P13 CB TRAE WAYNES MICHIGAN ST (top corner in the draft that would provide a great young CB tandem, across from Fuller) 44 - R2P12 RB TODD GURLEY GEORGIA (when fully healthy in 2016 could be the starter when Forte is done) 46 - R2P14 DE DANIELLE HUNTER LSU (could be better than some of the other DE/OLB drafted early in RD 1 and 2.) 78 - R3P14 S GEROD HOLLIMAN LOUISVILLE (ballhawk with good instincts but obviously needs to improve physicality and run support) 110 - R4P14 CB SENQUEZ GOLSON OLE MISS (ball hawk that could be a nice slot corner) 123 - R4P27 WR PHILLIP DORSETT MIAMI (FL) (could develop into a nice slot receiver with elite speed) 134 - R5P6 S JAQUISKI TARTT SAMFORD (Is seen as a SS initially and is physical in the box but has the agility and speed to potential for FS) 142 - R5P14 RB JAVORIUS ALLEN USC (not the first time Fox has drafted two running backs for his preference of a power running style) 143 - R5P15 DT LETERRIUS WALTON NORTHERN IOWA (could be a DT/NT/DE in the 3-4) 167 - R6P7 OLB DEION BARNES PENN STATE (scouts says he has upside but lacks experience but worth a late round flyer) 180 - R6P20 CB ERIC ROWE UTAH (has played free safety in college as well) (could not pass on Rowe's versatility in the six)
  17. I would also add that if you are a free agent considering the Bears would you want to join a team in a complete rebuild year? The players know Cutler is far from elite but also know he is also far from garbage. I doubt some free agents would want to come and play if the Bears just dumped Cutler without a viable replacement.
  18. Apparently Dan Bernstein was the one behind the rumors. The Bears beat reporters should have asked Pace, "did you receive any calls or entertain any offers on Jay Cutler"?
  19. The Cardinals or Rams would be a good fit for Brees.
  20. I agree and no matter what the average meat head bears fan thinks about Cutler, I will support him until the day he is not a Bear.
  21. Was the trade of BM more of a supportive move for Cutler since Brandon was trashing Jay last season? Perhaps the new regime is make an example out of Marshall?
  22. That's not a good deal for the Bears, BM love or hate him is worth more.
  23. I think this could also provide Bears more leverage to get a deal to trade back from #7 for more picks as they will now have a potential legit need at wr.
