Wednesday from my vantage point he emerged from the locker room an hour and a half after practice had begun so I figured he was doing whatever treatment routine he has to go through. They lined up a lot in 1 back but empty backfield and Bennett split out wide and the WRs inside him with the RB out wide also.

I found that out later in the day at home but,if it was asthma related no one on the training staff administered an inhaler. This was going on almost directly in front of me.With him and Goldman having issues plus White standing on the sidelines this is not going well right now for this year's draft class.
-
Did you also notice he is staying close to Cutler and that he was split out wide quite a bit in drills? I noticed it Wednesday.

Just got back from TC and yes there was some crisp hitting and the highlight of the day for me was the RB vs LB pass blocking drill. Rodgers and Langford did decent but everyone else including Forte got manhandled. Carey was awful. He got knocked down and thrown to the grown several times. Other news Wilson still has stone hands, there looks like some pretty good competition going on in the secondary Ola was carted off the field and Fabaluje also left early and I'm not sure why but they took his pads off and he walked off the field on his own. I guess it may have been heat or conditioning related. He is a project in my opinion and a practice squad candidate.

This is Brandon Marshall, Vincent Jackson( Who played at No. Colo) and Pierre Garcon. They all looked the same on film but this one didn't get drafted by the team that signed him.

The last coaching staff was not all bad. On offense everyone in skill positions improved. Forte, Bennett,Jeffrey and Marshall had a resurgence. Long has played 2 years and been a Pro Bowler both years under the last staff. Someone also had Mills ready in his rookie year to start whether he was good or bad and Last year Ola and Groy were coached up on short notice to fill in during the season. On defense someone coached up Fuller and Jones to the point that we think Fuller is a lock at his position and Jones is in high regard. The problem with the last staff was discipline and adjusting to opponents from week to week and during games. They weren't as bad at teaching the game as we may have been led to believe. As for bringing in Mathis. Why? Ducasse was signed you have Groy, Ola and Slausson. Right now with Long you have 5 OGs. If anything we need to look for depth at OT.

If on opening day 1st down the DL is Ferguson, Goldman and Ratliff, is that a bad thing? Your LBs McPhee, Allen, Foster and Jones. Jennings, Fuller, Rolle and Mundy the DBs.

I've gone to Bourbonaiss 2 times and went to the family fest last year with my adult sons and we stopped at Giordanos for pizza and beer for my birthday before and that was an awesome night. The fireworks show afterwards is definitely a must see but at 11:35 am I doubt that they will do that this year.

Since there is no FB on the roster why not keep all four? 100 snaps in 16 games is no gage for anyone to measure what Carey can or can't do. With Forte in a walk year I feel we should hold on to the two young backs and figure out how we really want to use Rogers. I find it odd that someone is touting Rodgers as being a threat in the passing game when your featured back (Forte) just broke the record for receptions by an RB in a season. If Forte is healthy who is going to be on the field on 3rd down? This is another slow part of the year article that is totally speculative.

The goal they set before the draft got crushed when he left Chicago when the allegations came out which sent red flags to any teams that considered him as a potential pick. Who advised him to leave? Who advised him to come out with the 3rd round or bust statement? Also who advised him that he could be able to withdraw from the draft and enter the Supplemental Draft? My guess is his uninformed agent, WHO SHOULD BE FIRED for his lack of knowledge of the rules governing the draft etc., and orchestrating a PR nightmare for his client costing him millions in the process.

Parts of the playbook may have been sent to the players with the thought that McDonald would be in the mix and now that has to be tweaked. A lot of what is being posted is fantasy or more accurately projections( same thing IMO). We are guessing what will happen. I for one have continued to say I have no idea how the defense will play since in all my 49 years of watching this team they never played this scheme so now everyone here is an expert on how the Bears will play their 3/4 when you never seen this team play it before and players from another scheme are being asked to fit in a scheme they were not brought here for. I am not optimistic about the defense what so ever and with Cutler at QB there are critical turnovers at the wrong time waiting to happen. This is the 4th staff that has hitched their wagon to Cutler and that includes Shannahan in Denver. While the other 3 endorsed his existence, this one had no choice but to stick with him. This is not a rant or bashing post, this is just a reality thought that we may be in for a rough ride while we transition to this new regime.

Fangio should be told to coach the defense and we'll get you the players. From this point forward Pace and Fox should have the final say on signings and if its FA no one with a checkered past, because of how scrutinized it will be for the team and the player.

My list starts in 1967 to current all 1st round picks and this is who I have to choose from: 67 Lloyd Phillips 68 Mike Hull 69 Rufus Mayes 71 Joe Moore 72 Lionel Antoine 74 Waymond Bryant 88 Brad Muster & Wendell Davis 91 Stan Thomas 92 Alonzo Spellman 94 John Thierry 95 Rashaan Salaam 98 Curtis Enis 99 Cade McNown 2001 David Terrell 2002 Marc Colombo 2003 Michael Haynes 2005 Cedric Benson 2008 Chris Williams 2011 Gabe Carimi 2012 Shea McClellin So I had to narrow it down to the Worst 4 Moore, Bryant, Thierry and Colombo. I came up with a tie and that is Moore and Bryant. Both of these guys were trying to replace 2 HOF players Moore an RB out of Missouri was taken in the 1st round as Gayle Sayers knee problems ended his career and Bryant was to be the next fierce MLB drafted to replace Dick Butkus. Most of the players on my list did very little in the way of contributing to the team. Most were awful and in the beginning the revered Papa Bear was making the picks up until 1974 then you don't see another bad pick until grandson Michael got involved through 2001, then JA to 2011 then Emery's 1st pick Shea. There was one hiccup during the Jim Finks era and that was when they traded their first rounder to Cleveland for QB Mike Phipps in 78(seems familiar) even though they had Vince Evans on the roster and he wound up the starter the following year after returning kicks and running sweeps his first couple of years.

Counting Bennett there are 8 on the current roster. Pascoe Rosario Miller Annen Maxwell Vogler Pantale
-
Lovie is back in the safety collecting business. Swearinger signs with Tampa. Khaseem Greene also. So Conte, Frey, Rodriguez, Wright and now Greene are the Tampa Bay Bears.
-
Why not? If your current management doesn't want to pick up the 5th year option on your contract even a farm boy like SMC will have an agent to get the best deal for his client.
-
Do what you feel! IMO I think its putting the cart before the horse.
-
I find it a little premature to assess 2016 needs when we haven't seen this staff and roster perform on the field in 2015.

The thing I like the most was he said it was a gut feeling to join Fox and that both have known each other for 30 years.

Brady 4 games, next yr's 1st, $1M fine, & 2017's 4th
lemonej replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
The draft picks penalty is a 1st 2016 and a 4th 2017. I personally think they got off easy in comparison to what happened to the Saints with "Bounty Gate". In both cases the teams circumvented the rules but in one case a coach and several players got suspended for a year because he should have known what was going on in the locker room and in this case the coach a repeat offender of rules violations gets nothing and a team 1 million dollar fine is peanuts. There is no way BB doesn't know all that goes on with that team. He should have received something similar to Sean Payton. -
Fangio is high on Christian Jones and SMC right now while everyone is in shorts.
-
I read the question as who were the players that he thought he could build around and Fuller was mentioned then SMC from the Bear Bits article by Rich Campbell in Sunday's Trib that had quotes from Fangio for the first time since he was hired here. According to the article Fangio was asked about building blocks he inherited and Kyle Fuller was mentioned and then a surprising response was SMC. He talked about his size and physical attributes and also mentioned that he may have been hindered by being moved around a lot( even though he is being moved again). This all after Pace declined his 5th year option. So he too is on a 1 yr make or break deal.

Fabuluge no big deal 6th rounder but your 2nd rounder who guaranteed 3.5 mil to is a problem because you are counting on him to be a contributor.
