I like the idea of push up the middle freeing the LBs to make tackles and with Young and Houston not rehabbing from surgeries I think that they can be good in this defense but the speed of Denver, Seattle and Carolina's defenses is what we should be trying to build here! One play Miller is flattening Newton and the next play he is covering a back near the sideline and breaking up a pass. That is the type of impact player we as well as one like K....ly that is a tackling machine and then drops in coverage and gets pick 6s. I remember how well our defense played when we had a guy like that!

Rereading all the posts in this thread and I'm starting to smile because the QB that just won the SB is 39 and his president of the team was how old when he won? If you have a killer defense all a QB has to do is manage the game and that is what Manning did. For a SB the QB play was awful imo and both defenses played well Carolina just had to defend a shorter field too many times.

Indy has had trouble with RBs since Luck got there and Gore is on team 3 now and has had a history of knee injuries. In the case of Indy I think its their blocking scheme and OL talent because Luck got hit a lot also.

The first big play that Von Miller made was reminiscent of Richard Dent in SB 20. When he was drafted he was picked number 2 overall behind the guy he pressured repeatedly on Sunday. This is the type of pass rusher that all 3/4 teams will be looking for and the type the Bears should be looking for. The Denver linebackers reminded me of the New Orleans Saints LBs lead by Sam Mills,Vaughn Johnson, Pat Swilling and Ricky Jackson. This is the LB crew that they are similar to imo. This offseason we need to acquire a player that is going to wreck havoc like Von Miller, Pat Swiilling and Rickey Jackson.

DBDB when I was at TC neither he or White were on the field! Do you remember seeing him much in preseason? I don't. As a former athlete and weekend warrior I know that the way to avoid the nagging injuries is put in the work! if you are susceptible to soft tissue injuries you have lots of money a training staff and a mentor (Marshall) who is a workout warrior why is he suffering these type of injuries? I truly believe he is not pushing himself. This is not about the freak injuries he incurred early on in his career, the soft tissue injuries should make you more aware of proper stretching, proper diet etc.

After the Greg Hardy nightmare and the fact that Manziel is under investigation for domestic violence, I doubt the Cowboys go that route he will pretty much be blacklisted from the league. Besides he has shown absolutely nothing that says he is an NFL QB.

Who was the guy that did it in the last game?
-
He should be! I was a big fan of this kid at South Carolina and truly believe he was carrying more weight this year than in his previous seasons. Those were the rumors that dogged him leading up to the draft and I believe he was a little out of shape this year leading to all the nagging injuries.

There has been no consideration to the to positions on offense that may need to be addressed besides the OL. Are we comfortable at WR with probably a franchised Jeffrey, a recovering White and Royal, and Wilson? Who will man the TE position because we all have discussed Bennett probably gone leaving Miller(oft injured) and Lee. I also think an OT can not be picked after rd 3, I like Hawkins of LSU. Since you are not saying what number the picks are coming at trade back scenarios should be factored in and shouldn't rule out Ragland as an option.

Everyone when it comes to Spence think Bruce Irvin who had similar red flags!
-
This post is supportive of why Marshall got moved his former WR coach in Denver was Gase and obviously he didn't want to deal with Marshall or else he would have emphasized how vital he would have been to his offensive scheme.

With the backup QB one hard sack away from being on the field, how comfortable is everyone with the backup QB? Right now its David Fales and he hasn't taken a meaningful snap and was only put on the 53 man roster because someone wanted to sign him to their 53 man roster. So for those of you who think Cutler is a top 15 talent what happens if Cutler is out for the season? That reason alone is why a QB could be an option in their first 3 picks.

Hopefully the QB coach is the OC in waiting creating the continuity that the offense needs. If Ken Wisenhunt is plan be I'm okay with thatbecause I feel he may be ready to hunker down in one spot.

I like the thought of seeing both come to TC with no lingering injury issues with both looking like they improved and got "their legs under them" as the season progress. An ACL and a torn achilles are both long rehabbing injuries and I hope they both get the chance to showcase their abilities come TC because they are under contract and this staff loves playing most of the roster.

The 4 choices I would like are: Ragland ILB Shon Cleman OT Von Bell SS Dak Prescott QB

How can you tell he got no reps last year?
-
We have to watch games with the roster pulled up!. It will be the same next year!

This is an outstanding question and one I can't give a straight answer to. I'm not impressed with Jay Cutler's play because he should be playing the way he's playing now and should have been several years ago. I hope I'm not starting a firestorm but, right now he is playing like a game manager trying to avoid mistakes. Yesterday's game should have been billed the Conservative Bowl because both coaches were trying to keep mistakes to a minimal. WTBS here is my take on the likes and dislikes of 2015. I'll call it like one of my favorite movies of all time The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Ugly: Ray McDonald,Jay Ratliff and Brock Vereen. The first two for off the field and the last one for on the field as a second year player that starts the season top of the depth chart and gets cut. He showed that he couldn't play dead and the mistakes he made as a rookie were a trend that continued! Bad : Martellus Bennett, Robbie Gould, Alshon Jeffrey, Eddie Royal, Marc Mariani, Christian Jones, Antrelle Rolle and the decision to move Kyle Long to Right Tackle a week before the season! Bennett holdout and what looked like a lack of focus at times plus to much mugging for the cameras for a sound bite. You're not worth the headache! Robbie Gould that bad stretch you had cost the team at least 3 games sitting at 6-9 and maybe those 3 critical kicks would give the team a shot at the playoffs Alshon as one of your biggest fans since your college days visually you look like you have fallen into the pattern that was being whispered prior to the draft about significant weight gain because you look TE size to me and maybe that is what is contributing to your multitude of injuries. Eddie Royal collects his pay check with a ski mask and AK-47! Marc Mariani My deceased Grand ma can fair catch, please polish up your resume and ride off into the sunset because you should be coaching and not playing. You were a nice story but, the book is closed. Christian Jones I guess there is a reason you went undrafted! Antrelle Rolle nice career, turn the page! To whoever dragged this decision out until the first week of the season to move Long to RT you should be taken to the wood shed! The Good:Rookies actually making contributions in their first year, 2nd year players getting a good look and more importantly looking coached up! Injured veterans returning and making an impact(Young and Houston), most of the FAs signed on one year contracts and I'm convinced that Fangio will be here next year and believe Gase will be also unless there is a huge turnover in head coaches then he is certain to be on some ones short list!

When I left training camp this summer I was preaching gloom and doom! The team started to win some unexpected games and I got false hope because what I forgot to remember was that depth after starters was going to be a problem. Jeremey Langford also made me forget because he looks like the future at RB. The problem is that when we as fans need to have the Bears website open to the roster to figure out who is on the field at the beginning of games points back to my original thoughts back in the summer. I personally hope that they shut down everyone that has had nagging injuries and truly find out who needs to be here going forward! With all the 1 year contracts this could look even worst next year!

After Thanksgiving night I was all for getting a top cornerback or Ilb or safety. These are are still primary needs but an offensive tackle is priority now and moving long back inside will allow you to continue to develop Grasu and get Patrick Omg off the field because the 3 of them together are a train wreck!
-
A little overweight? He looked huge to me yesterday which may be contributing to his constant leg related injuries. Just sayin!
-
There was 2 players on defense that I thought played hard start to finish, Timu was 1 and Amos was the other. Everyone else seemed to let down as the game went on!

I don't see Washington on here aren't they 5-7 also?
