  1. The fact that Vereen can be at the facility tomorrow will help with his learning process and may give him a leg up in the competition for a starting spot because he's not currently recovering from surgery.
  2. All I know is that this guy has signed his picks quick every even when he was under the old CBA and there will be 3 young players not having to worry about purchasing insurance policies when mini camp opens and will be able to go to the facility now and workout.
  3. I try instead of putting all the emphasis on the draft actually look at all the offseason acquisitions when its all said and done and I personally believe that the Bears have had an oustanding offseason and with today annouced signing of 3 of their picks are showing signs of an organization moving in the right direction. A lot of attention was paid to the defense and I feel I would be nit-picking if I complained about which position should have been addressed in a particular order.
  4. Stein is freakin awesome at his job. 3 picks signed 3 days after the draft.
  5. Vereen and Fales both got 4yr deals also.
  6. First of all he did his study over the last few years but in Bears history just remember these names from recently: Will Furer 4th RD ,Moses Moreno 7th RD, Craig Krenzel 5th RD and Kyle Orton 4th RD all have started games for the Bears. If you would like me to go all the way back to my childhood I can. Turk Schonert, Vince Evans, Bob Avelini, Virg Carter and Larry Rakestraw all started for the Bears and were not 1st or 2nd RD picks Phil carefully picked a time frame that excluded Tom Brady also and not to mention the many UDFAs and reclamation projects that have gone on to be SB MVPs and HOFers. For laughs I researched 1 other team in depth and check these names out: Jordan Palmer 6th rd one injury away from being the Bears starter, Sage Rosenfels 4th, Gus Frerotte 7th who actually beat out a 1st rd Heath Schuler for the starting spot as a rookie, Stan Humphries 6th and Mark Rypien 6th.These are all Redskin draft picks with the last two I mentioned being Starter in the SB. This is clear evidence that what Emery was doing was Smokescreen BS. There have been too many times when more than 2 Qbs have started for this franchise in a season. BTW what was he supposed to say at the presser that Fales has a chance to supplant Cutler this year after you just inked him to a big money deal? What he didn't say was he was drafted to back up Palmer who he feels good about as well as Johnson.

    UDFAs

I love having guys who fell as undrafted free agents and in Lyngh and Jones case they should have big chips on their shoulder. James Brown currently backing up at both OG positions followed the same path and is still around. Coming out he had 3rd RD grade.
  8. This draft was solid in terms of addressing team needs. It might not have been names we wanted but he went down the checklist IMO.
  9. True but Ja Marcus Webb still scars me.

    UDFAs

At this point I'm gassed anyone with a list of guys after the next 2 picks that might be good fits here as undrafted free agents? I like the thought of NIU's Jordan lynch as an athlete brought in here as well as the union leader Cain Colter in the same capacity.
  11. Agreed and the highlight tapes support your opinion.
  12. Last coaching staff would have him starting at RT!lol You have to keep trying to develop OTs because of the cost they bring to your salary cap. If Stein does his normal deals this guy will not cost much over the years of his rookie pact.
  13. I'm a little uneasy thinking about a Miami punter kicking in Soldier's Field in Nov and Dec.
  14. So what does your post have to do with if I think he can be a MLB in the future. If your post is comedy add a lol or something.
  15. I'm basing this on the you tube videos that came out that showed him playing more in space than most DEs.

    WTF moment

If you look at the whole draft 2 DTs, 1 CB, 1S,1 RB, 1QB, and 1P and a pick to go. This is decent IMO.

    WTF moment

In the 6th RD is it really WTF or should that presser where he made that comment WTF!
  18. Lets see what he can do when he kicks a frozen ball being from the U.
  19. I still think McClellin is the future MLB and Bostic and Greene are the future on the outside.
  20. I knew he was blowing smoke and hope they find a roster spot for him.

    WTF moment

I had to dig this up because I'm not right that often!
  22. I wanna hear what BS he is gonna say after all his pre draft posturing.

    So...

Mettenberger has some medical issues with his back(spinal fractures per Ian Rapport) that may put him in the UDFA category
  24. The words raw were bandied about when it came to Kyle Long last year and we saw how Kromer groomed two rookies into starters. Lets see what this hand picked DL coach can do with this "Project".
  25. I keep seeing a lot of love for Louis Nix but the comments I heard about him earlier to day by Greg Cosell of NFL films may be the reason the Bears passed on him. He stated that when he watched tape on Nix that he was on the ground too much. Mayock commented that Nix should play at 330 because he seems to get tired and loses leverage. Those types of comments and the fact he had a torn meniscus might be the reason why the Bears passed on Nix.
