Was that really a beautifully thrown ball or did Miller make an outstanding adjustment during the throw?Just re-watched the game on UPN locally here and it looked like he adjusted to the ball in the air. The question I'm asking is if they go with he,Bennett and Rosario instead of Fiametta beacuse I don't remember seeing a FB on the field in both times I watched the game.

The most noticeable things I took from the FIRST PRESEASON game is that: 1 The Bears don't run much under Trestman in the preseason. 2 For the right side of the OL and the top backup to be out the remainder of the OL fared okay considering their status and I hope #79 Long is the first guy cut. 3. There is a reason why Weems has never cracked the top rotation at WR at any of his NFL stops. His hands. 4 Its going to be really bad if Bostic and McClellin are on the field at the same time. 5 Joe De Camillas should be on the hot seat. His units have looked unorganized and have made bonehead blunders since he has been here and at family fest last Sat Nite there was several times the ST had the field to run drills and nothing looked organized in the game last night. Return for TD, Blocked FG and some mental blunders. 6 Zach Miller looks like a keeper. 7 Ka Deem Carey blocks pretty good for a rookie. 8 Chris Williams looks size-wise like Johnny Knox and has similar quicks. Durabilty-wise also. He may windup being on PUP to start the season if his injury is more serious than first thought. After he made the play, he seemed fine, did he hurt himself celebrating? 9 the instinctive play making ability thought process is bac as a part of the D philosophy and it looks like the DTs are back to a read and react mentality similar to what we witnessed with Greg Blache as Dick Jauron's DC. Occuppy Blockers let LBs make the plays. 10 Its only a matter of time before Adrian Wilson is first team. The way he reacted on the Hail Mary pass at the end of the first half was savy and smart and the type of football instincts that this developing defense is going to need and he still can bring some attitude when tackling.

Maybe they did make an effort to get Miller and Rosario the ball but Miller's TD catch at the back of the endzone was all him. He showed great athletic ability and field awareness securing the catch and keeping his feet in-bounds.

Great article on Trestman about the suspension of Bennett
lemonej replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
Trestman is a breath of fresh air when it comes to interviews and answering reporters questions. He answers honestly the questions he wants to answer and respectfully tells reports how much information he is willing to give about a particular situation. There is no bristling or arrogant comments about understanding the game and some bogus coach speak that tells you nothing. I'm glad they are trying to nip this in the bud because it seems that Bennett is really a meathead and with Cutler praising Fuller for the way he handled himself and Marshall getting in Bennett's ear its clear the players wanted to see him disciplined. -
I still would like to see him kick on a windy day! West Va and Miami are nothing like Soldier's Field. There was absolutely no wind Sat Nite and the weather was beautiful. BTW Tress Way didn't look too bad either and was a lot more accurate on the directional kicks. I just wonder if he has a permanent residence in Bourbonnais because it seems like he's at camp every year or the first one they call when a punter is struggling.

With 2 grown sons with lives of their own it was extremely cool to hangout with them at Soldier's Field Sat Nite. The practice was crisp and high-paced. Looked like a lot of work was done on working the edges and what looked like a turn in slant that almost resembles a Wr screen. The WR that is on the roster that I believe should get a shot at the spot that Marquiss Wilson was holding is Spurlock he looked decent in the practice Sat Nite. I'm not surprised that wilson got hurt because he was on the field for a lot of drills including special teams. Speaking of special teams Pat O'Donnell does have a big leg and averaged 60 yds on kicks but was concentrating a lot on directional kicking and still was averaging 40+ yds on those kicks. Met a fan from Omaha that has never grown up in Chicago and brought his whole family to the fest and of course I invited him here and told him my user name. This was the best B-day weekend of my life and now I have something in common with Buffone, Wilson and Briggs. 55! Ps guys my fun weekend came crashing to a halt today when I go to the DMV to renew my driver's license and they told me that I can't see well enough to pass the driver's exam so 300 bucks later I have to go back tomorrow and show them I went to the eye doctor.(lol)

The incident that might have spurred the suspension was he and Marshall getting into a heated discussion after the incident shortly afterward. Bennett then during interviews pretty much bragged that he could afford a fine after being asked if he could expect a fine. Fuller was very impressive by not retaliating and afterward said that it was all forgotten and it was part of the process. The sound bites from Bennett are great for the media but his maturity is now still in question.

I will be there Sat Nite and hope to see him on the field. It is unbelieveable how fast tickets for this practice went. There is only endzone seats left and I have 3 of them. Decided to go to this instead of Bourbonnais and feel like this will be a little more expensive but I get to hook up with my sons who I don't see that often because they are grown men with their own lives to lead and live quite a distance from me. With the limited amount of practice for TC now it is very important for Long to get back on the field and continue to improve on his rookie season. We all remember that he was considered a reach by all the experts and turned out to be a pro bowler. The plan is for him to do conditioning drills for the next couple of days per Tressman and to be in full pads if no set backs Sat Nite.

Lets see HOF TE and Coach Mike Ditka once said that George Halas threw nickels around like manhole covers once he was traded to Philadelphia. Then wrote to the same man for an opportunity to coach the team. HOF LB Dick Butkus actually sued the team over his medical treatment on his knees and later came back to do analysis on the Bears radio coverage. Also once a year Gayle Sayers says something that sounds extremely bitter towards one of the current players on the team. This is not new and in today's times with all the social media and sports media outlets there is a microphone in front of every scorned athlete in all sports. Urlacher has always seemed to be a bit surley with the media and now he just doing the same thing as a member of the media.

The bottom line for those of us who were shocked to the core when JA traded for Cutler is that this will be the first year his entire offensive team will remain intact and he now has 3 pro bowl weapons and a potential 4th on offense and his second year in a qb friendly scheme with the same OC, gives him no more excuses.
-
He was a pup with Robinson in 99 and was part of one of the best drafts of the 90's with 6 guys actually getting starting jobs and contributing. I remember a game early in Booker's career where he was getting his helmet outfitted to be the backup QB on the sideline and boydid he look nervous.
-
He did have more receptions and yds but scored the same amount of TDs as Conway who was more of a down the field threat than Engram who basically played in the middle of the field. I should have included Engram and called them the most prolific trio WRs prior to Marshall, Jeffrey and E Bennett. BTW wasn't Graham gone when Crowton was OC?
-
If you force me to pick its a 3 way tie between Ronnie Bull, Roland Harper and Matt Suhey. With Brian Piccolo's one year at the spot memorable.
-
Strictly who I have actually watched. Never saw Bronco play.

As someone else posted this is our first experience at having these kind of WRs and for a change its nice to see. For years the RBs or LBs were the face of this franchise but that has change. When you have Pro Bowl WRs the talking comes along with it even if its no bragging it becomes twisted cockiness. Prior to this tandem the most prolific tandem was Marcus Robinson and Curtis Conway under Gary Crowton's offense which was deemed "College" at the time. Those "Bubble and WR screens are a regular call on NFL Sundays.

Sayers All-time with Walter close second and of course Jeffrey(Jeffries from my bad spelling days) was a fav of mine at South Carolina. All the critics were wrong about his work ethic and ranked him behind Blackmon coming out. If I had to name my all-time Bears secondary it would be Tillman and Rosey Taylor at CB and Fencik and Pettibon at safety. At LB Butkus flanked by Marshall and Buffone with Wilson barely missing the cut. DL would consist of Hampton, Atkins, Chambers and Peppers. On offense Cutler Beats out Luckman finally at QB. My Backfield is Sayers and Payton to Hell with a FB. My Wrs are Marshall and Marcus Robinson with Johnny Morris in the slot and Ditka is the TE My OL is Mike Pyle at C, Jimbo Covert at LT, Keith Van Horne at RT, Noah Jackson at RG and Jim Cadile at LG. Returnman is Devin Hester, Punter Boby Joe Green and Kicker is Robbie Gould edging out Butthead.
-
Think of this alignment on offense that starts off with Cutler under center and Lynch as a 1 back. Cutler shifts to WR and Lynch takes a direct snap and chooses what to do. Pass, run or handoff.
-
I guess a coach on the Bears' staff was on the Texans staff when the proposal went down. That was Brad Biggs tweet that came across on csnchicago.com while I was viewing. I still fill that Shea is gonna be the MLB for this team flanked by Bostic and Greene in 2015.

Young veteran Marquise Wilson should blossom similar after working out with Marshall and Jeffery who benefitted from the experience last year. Rookie Ka Deem Carey because he should probably get the most chances of any other rookie on this team to make an impact spelling Forte. He just needs to prove his pass blocking ability to see the field regularly.
-
If you watch the games you will see Forte look toward the sideline and raise his hand and go out of the game this has happened a lot and may contribute to him being slighted by his peers in the top 100 players in the league. I personally think heis top 25 even if he takes himself out of the games from time to time.
-
Tucker will be the main one under the gun because all the $$ and time invested into the defense this year. Yes he had a defense he had to learn scheme and tech-wise shoved down his throat but now he gets to tweak it a little and now he is on front street.
-
Mad L as you can see this has kind of bothered me for awhile because Forte has never been the same since his 316 attmp season as a rookie. Since then he hasn't come close to that production until we got Marshall and Jeffrey and had 289 attmp. which also was the second highest yrds per @ 4.6. I just don't like the tap out thing he does because I would prefer for him to be told to come off the field.
-
Lets look at it from a Bears fan historic perspective. How many times did we see a Bears RB take himself out a game in the redzone after breaking off a 20 yard run. Forte has done this a lot and this team has felt the need to bring in guys that could punch it into the endzone. Forte doesn't score as many redzone TDs as his salary and his presumed pedigree dictates. If Iwanted to compare Forte to a Bears back of the past it would be Neal Anderson with the stipulation that Forte is not as fast as Anderson was but posseses some of the same ability. He has yet to prove that he can consistently be the "Bell Cow" and so that ranking that his "Peers" gave him should truly motivate him this season. We are use to the 30 carry RBs throughout the history of this franchise and to see a guy who takes himself out of games when Payton had his shoulder popped back into place kinda rubs me the wrong way. Forte is moving up the charts as a rusher in Bears history but he has not done it as totally the feature back.

Maybe they speak during minicamp.
