  1. Honey Badger should not be taken before round 5. He should be viewed similar to Burflict last year.
  2. scs787 Do you remember posting this? Now you don't want him? What is different now?
  3. Bushrod- Cooper-Cave-Louis(if healthy)-Carimi I like yours better but I believe Womack will be gone and I think they go elsewhere in RD 2 and going with Cave in RD 4.
  4. What does all those stats mean? Does it mean Brees was hitting the turf a lot as a result of his play or not? I don't get all the stats crap when this guy was named to 2 consecutive pro bowls and his former O-line coach is the OC here. I predicted that he would be on the radar here and he wound up here. PFF may be just trying to justify all that bogus research they do.
  5. The rumored knock on Bennett in Dallas was that he didn't work hard. Going to the Giants became a wakeup call for him and he was out to prove his former team wrong. I hope that attitude continues especially in a division that has some decent TEs that the Bears face twice a year.
  6. Emery goes after a need ASAP. This is encouraging.

    Kyle Long

Agreed and at Senior Bowl practice he along with a kid named Quisennbary looked decent.
  8. A perrenial playoff team in our division spent a 1st rd pick on a QB with a HOF QB on the roster, that turned out pretty well.I'm not saying I'm on board with them taking a QB early but, maybe Cutler needs a jolt in the pants to become more consistent.
  9. That is not surprising. After his comments about Cutler, his playing time was cut in favor of Hayden who sucked IMO.In the beginning Moore had Mike Brown -like presence catching deflections for TDs etc but, more recently his coverage skills were exposed by some of the better slot WRs in the league.
  10. Signing af FA OG is not a slam dunk to success. Steve Hutchinson and the OG from Pittsburgh who's name I can't recall for obvious reasons are two of the more recent guys at that position that were highly touted going into FA but were mediocre when they were signed by another team. OL are the toughest FAs to gauge when it comes to who best fits your team and scheme.
  11. Signing scrap heap rookies and scrap heap vets and trying to rely on them is a pipe dream. Scott I thought played decent but Rachal that was touted as a tough guy quit when he was demoted and that to me speaks to his mental toughness and solidifies what some 9er fans were saying about how bad he was.Taking players in the draft and investing some time to actually coach them up is what was lacking from the last regime and coaching staff.

    Backup QB

That generally makes players like him drop in the draft.
  13. You're right about Johnson but Austin may be there at 20 and that would mean this staff thinks they need another playmaker on offense. an Austin pick at 20 would be bolder than SMC last year IMO.
  14. My point is that Webb has a chance to start over with a new staff and if he wants to solidify his starting position as Cutler's blindside protector, he has done something stupid.IMO he is not good enough for a team to overlook off the field stupidity.Regardless of whether we liked Lovie or not, news like this was rare.He is showing a lack of maturity and I don't know if he should be trusted to protect the QB's blindside. Lets face it scs787 if you look up "old school" you might see my picture.I know I'm being anal about this but we all make mistakes in life but I'm not sure I'd be willing to jeopardize millions for a buzz.
  15. I'm thinking the answer at LG is Garza and they need to put Spencer at his natural position and bring in a kid undrafted to groom.
  16. 20. Tyler Eifert TE Notre Dame 50. Terron Armstead OT Ark-Pine Bluff 114. Zaviar Gooden OLB Mizzou 146 Kejon Barner RB Oregon 178 Garrett Gilkey OG Chadron ST This is my first shot at this for the year .OK let it rip.
  17. Big Ben was not charged with anything but was suspended for the beginning of a season and with Webb not denying the controlled substance was his fine is guaranteed but may be accompanied with a 1 game or 2 suspension. Goodell has been all over the map with his punishments. Do you really want me to go down the road of why I made the comment about Hurd? Think about it. Several players got in Lovie's doghouse for things a lot of us didn't hear about.Explain to me why Anthony Adams,DJ Moore, Matt Toeina and others fell out of favor with the previous regime? Rumor has it that it was for repeatedly violating team rules and when DJ Moore made the comments about Cutler pushing Webb, his playing time got cut drastically.

    Backup QB

Call me crazy but I like the idea of Colin Klein as a late pick to develop.
  19. I'm talking about a quick twitch guy you could lineup in the backfield like Harvin or Cobb. Maybe even a Sproles or James and Rogers.
  20. Driving 11 mph over the speed limit in bad weather is okay and then tweeting that you are heading to Texas to continue your off season training with weed on you is bad because it says that thats how you train,Ricky Williams ,Ced Benson style. Webb was on the team with Hurd who also had a residence in Texas, maybe Webb was one of his regular customers.Webb's body of work is not strong enough for him to over come off the field issues. What do you think Goodell will do when the arrest report comes across his desk?
  21. They frowned real hard when Sam Hurd was charged. Also Collins is not protecting your starting QB.

    Backup QB

I have watched the Bears over the years recently pretty much ignore the OL and since drafting Orton really not address a QB to develop. LeFevre(sp?) and Enderle aside, this team needs to do better than Campbell,McCown,Collins and Haney. I would like to see them use one of the 5 picks they currently have on a QB to develop. Why,because with a new coach considered a QB guru and Cutler entering the last year of his contract you have to protect yourself in case this staff doesn't feel Cutler is the one to lead this team.
  23. I like the idea of trading down and acquiring multiple picks and the 4 players you have posted are okay by me but I would like a player that could cause matchup nightmares and make Marshall and Jeffrey as well as Forte better.
  24. Don't get me wrong, I support your decision to support any Bears player but even with now the Pulaski County State's Attorney saying he will not pursue drug charges against Webb it still tells me that a guy who has one of the most coveted jobs monetarily in the league is not worthy of the position. That coupled with his past struggles aginst some of the elite pass rushers in the league tells me he doesn't deserve to have the job handed to him and just like the defense put your best 2 OT's on the field no matter who they are and if they have a real competition he will not win especially if they add players to the mix. I still believe he was fast forwarded without proper development.
