If Fields is judged as flawed you’re 100% correct. I believe some teams will feel the Bears just did him no favors and they’ll be intrigued by how exciting he is. Kiper believes the Bears can get a second round pick for him or better so dropping back 6 picks in the first round has to be close to equivalent to that. NE would get two players in this scenario, a QB and a stud at 9. Instead of getting the third best rookie QB in the draft. They pick 3rd not 2nd. It might be doable.

What about the Bears trade Fields to NE and flip their first for our second first. Then the Bears have two of the top three picks and can grab MHJ and the QB they love the best.

Tampa winning in a blowout last night only makes me more pissed about the Bears this season. From start to finish they did a much better job of turning things around than the Bears.

Olsen’s track record of being with teams no longer than two years is enough to tell me we don’t want him. Which only means he’s their #1 candidate.

I added NFL Network for a few weeks towards the end of the season to watch some game (don’t remember) and then cancelled. Not going to pay for freakin Peacock. I’m watching a show on Netflix instead which I already have and get value from.

My guess is yes, they’re going to try to find a proven commodity they can trust with this evaluation. Everyone on the staff right now is too close to the situation to be clear eyed. At the end of the day it’ll be Poles call but he’ll want someone telling him if he believes Fields is fixable.

Unless I’m mistaken Fields has never led the Bears to a comeback victory. Maybe in his first season? To be “the guy” you need to show that you have that in you.

I’m 100% in for Fields but would draft someone like McCarthy in the third. In the first round I only trade back to the extent I can still draft MHJ. Him and DJ with Kmet and our core of RBs could be deadly. Use the other top picks on edge or O Line (best available). I just don’t think they can walk away from Fields right now. Williams is far from a sure thing. And Fields would get you what in draft capital?

Fields still holding onto the ball too long. Not capable of quick reads. But Getsy is also a huge part of the problem. These guys line up with 10 seconds or less on the play clock on most plays. No chance to look over the D when that’s the case. And he’s the least creative O Coordinator I’ve seen in a long time. When the team succeeds it’s always individual effort by someone overcoming the stupid play calls he’s made. What that means for Fields, who I desperately want to see succeed, I don’t know.

Trade only makes sense if they sign him. I haven’t seen anything on that yet. Typically they have an agreement in place ahead of trades like this, no?

You’re right, probably end of season. Flus is now also DC so what the heck do they do on that side of the ball if he’s gone. The staff is incompetent across the board. No clue if Fields has talent or sucks based on how poorly coached he and the team is. I turned the game off on Sunday when they had a delay of game penalty after a kick off. In all my years I’ve never seen that happen.
