  1. Would you look at that!!! Two weeks in a row and Robert Quinn comes through with another sack!!! Da Bears!!!
  2. See that Goldman is out again… Goldman hasn’t played a snap since 2019. DT Margus Hunt was brought up from the PS to fill the vacancy. Last week my not knowing how the Bears would play, played to my favor. I’ll go with the same blind ambition and suggest the Bears will win, 26-17. Don’t know why or how.
  3. Hell, you don't have to go beyond one game to see that roller-coaster effect. Last week (aside from the first TD score) our team put out relative garbage for most of the first half. Then the defense went off and had 4 turnovers (1 fumble recovery and three INTs) and a sack or two. But then late in the game the defense went to sleep and allowed Cincy to rally back within 3 pts. Thank gosh the clock ran out when it did. We saw it the week before when both Jackson and Gipson didn't down the receiver when they passed him while on the ground. Who then promptly stood up and scored. That's definitely a Nagy/Desai issue with lack of discipline to keep the pressure up on both sides of the ball for the full 60 minutes.
  4. Overall, this is good news. In watching last week, Peters still struggled and appears to be still working towards "game shape" but agree that having him make it through the whole game is encouraging. For what its worth, Wilkerson (who was the #3 during the LAR game) did well enough to not contribute to a sack until late in the game. When I say that I mean specifically Donald. He didn't get to the QB until late in the game. Cincy wasn't nearly as much a challenge although they still did get through from time to time. Cleveland has Clowney and the formidable Myles Garrett coming off the edges from a 4-3 base so that will definitely be a test for the O-line as a whole.
  5. And the Colts are in the market with Wentz and his weak ankles.
  6. Ha, of course it was about game one or two last year where he got his first sack … then pretty much nothing after that. Hope that to not be the case this year.
  7. Usually you provide more statistical info to support your claim (regarding Dalton's check downs). Saying '75% of the time' he does that seems a bit high. Just my watching the last game showed him throw a fair number of 10 yard plus throws. One 30 yard pass to Goodwin was pretty much on target and although ruled incomplete was given to them based on the DPI (push out of bounds) that resulted. Unless of course you're talking about Dalton since game one or in his career. I was just talking more about this last game. Agree that Nagy didn't make any adjustments. You could tell Fields isn't used to being a pocket passer and Nagy should have adjusted the game play more to his talents. He basically stuck Fields in where Dalton would have been had he still been playing. We saw the same thing with Trubisky. I want to say it wasn't until year two that we saw Mitch roll out more than he did the year before.
  8. Yeah you can see the game is slower to Dalton. Fields will improve but some of what he was doing today made it obvious he’s still a rookie. There were at least two dropped balls (one by ARob for a TD) that coulda helped get Justin that more confident.
  9. And within two series get really sloppy and scored on twice. -sheesh-
  10. And the D suddenly comes alive. Back to back turnovers. One for a TD. Mark Sanchez: “He’s (Burrow) not afraid to throw another INT”. Burrow: “Hold my beer”. (yea I’m overusing that phrase -seemed appropriate).
  11. Was thinking the same thing. Why was a much less mobile Dalton able to stand back there for a decent amount of time then scramble with little effort?
  12. And Chicago gets its wish to see extended play from Fields. Which is too bad due to how it happened. Hope it isn’t long term Andy. Get well quick.
  13. Sloppiest 1st quarter I’ve seen in a long time. Fortunately Cincy was sloppier.
  14. Seemed like a chicken shit call. I understand the rule but still. Of course then a few plays later he (Gipson) was way to soft on coverage resulting in a first down catch.
  15. 1st drive a combo of run pass (running didn’t work) and Andy throws a nice TD to ARob. Andy’s throws are accurate and a mix of short, medium and long range. Cincys D is not the Rams D.
  16. Yeah the arrogance of Pace probably overshadowed reality on this one. Especially with OT. However, Jimmy was pretty productive last year (caught the most TD passes) and as you described for Tackle he’s a good bridge/mentor for Kmet. Does the money factor come into play when you’re talking about keeping Fuller versus Graham? Yeah probably. That’s a tough call especially now that we’re looking at a third stringer for left OT (Wilkerson was starting last week after Peters and Borom went down during the game). Of course we’re aware of the issues with Jenkins. For what it’s worth Leno still looked like the turnstile he’s infamous for from when he was with us. He wasn’t nearly atrocious every play but during one drive for a TD I did see one play where he was on the wrong side of his defender (chasing him to the QB) and completely fell down on another. Fortunately for Heinike he’s a bit more maneuverable (and younger) than Dalton. I’d agree keeping Trubiksy at this point may have been the better option but at best he coulda been kept for the price of a franchise tag since his rookie deal was over(??).
