Read that Trufant was missing from practice yesterday leading some to believe he would be released. Apparently it’s true.

I am disappointed here. Must not have the same skill set his brother does. Guess we'll see if he gets picked up elsewhere and how that goes.

Damn, two guys drafted this year with potential to make the squad are gone? Maybe both to the PS? Now that perennial Preseason star Nall is gone, should free up at least one spot there. Losing Hambright and Wheatley clears up the question about the oline a little....

I was thinking the same thing when I heard. And like Mongo said, his arm is no longer what it was...however, he is still relatively mobile where Foles is not. Depends on what type of offense the potential team may have and oline they have to run it. The price point will also be a factor.

This explains Danny’s playing time. Glad he made the most of it. But puts him on sort of a bubble. Biggs also noted TE Scooter Harrington was waived.

You may have also seen the team ‘is open to trade talks for Foles’ but…’as long as Foles agrees to the team’. Interesting.

I did notice that Danny T. was playing for the first several plays last weekend. Until he got the turnover that is. Wondered why he and hardly anyone else from the ones (think Vildor was out there for awhile) played. Maybe to see between he and Ogletree will get the start? I agree with you, they compliment each other's skill sets, or offset each other rather. Ogletree is better in coverage and Danny is better at point of attack and plugging holes. I'd be glad to see both make it. Considering Ogletree was only there to visit friends then got an offer to play, I'd consider that fortunate for us. I'm also impressed with James. Especially, as you say, with him being a late addition. He didn't come in until after Butt abruptly retired if I remember correctly. He's developed a good chemistry with Fields. And I agree, with the four TEs you list, that will be a great room. You're right about Peters and Ifedi, both do need more time to get in the groove. Wasn't part of why Peters wanted out of Philly due to them wanting him to play Guard and also coming back from an injury... I'm hoping he's not another Orlando Pace 2.0 like someone else pointed out before. Great player, just hope its not all behind him.

So watching Foles play yesterday almost makes me miss him but then I realized he was playing against 3rd and 4th stringers who mostly won’t have a job by the end of the week. But man did he look good running that offense. How about Horstead? Might need to make a spot for him to stay? Probably drop JP Holtz to make room. My two fave players coming out of camp have to be Rodney Adams and Khyris Tonga. Have to believe both make it. After yesterday’s game I’m a bit concerned about Peters and Ifedi starting. Both got schooled pretty badly early on. Yes I know it’s preseason but man. Hopefully somebody cuts a solid OLT in the next few days.

Ridley will either end up in Atlanta with his brother or Buffalo and do well.

I'm with you. I think the only reason Graham is mentioned is due to his salary with relative low cap hit if released (or so I understand). But with his productivity last year, it makes little sense to get rid of him especially if you compare him to players like Foles. I'm one who thinks Danny T still has something to offer but could see them releasing him in a scenario where they need to get another OT especially given Ogletree is doing as well as he is and doesn't cost all that much. Yeah, Quinn appears to be a shell of his former self. And as much a fan as I am of Vildor, he had a bad day today. Maybe Trufant or Burns should get some time there? I know that not much can really be measured on preseason other than what you said (matchup analysis). Still would’ve liked to see some sustained drives and tackling.

Still trying to sort out what we saw. Is this Trubisky playing for a competent play caller and looking the part? Or is our defense (mostly starters for much of the first few plays) really that bad? Or a combination of them both? On the other side both Dalton, Fields and really the whole offense struggled. Hmm… what could it be?

Some news on Fields. Appears he was out yesterday nursing a minor ‘groin injury’. He’s returned today. But during a recent practice where he struggled, he refused to leave until he had run through the plays a bit more.
