  1. I think the fact we will concentrate on the running game will help the line get acclimated to the NFL speed. Then throw is some play action, scrambling and a few deep drops, and you may be building something.
  2. PFF has them like 28th but I am sure they all will upgrade after adding Reiff and Schofield showed up. I think its possible they turn out pretty good.
  3. Briggs is probably the best beat reporter, I read him in the Tribune everyday.
  4. There are a lot of choices of people covering the Bears. Lately I've been watching on YouTube, The Sick Podcast with Adam Rank, Swift Sports Network, Hoge and Johns , and Chicago Football Connection. On podcasts, Chicago Bears with Thayer and Joniack, the Noname podcast with Olin Kreutz. Twitter with Jacob Infante and Gabe Gabriel. What day you
  5. You have to give coaching advantage to NE. These rosters are similar in good players and upside players. I think Fields has more upside than Jones. So my futures are leaning on the Bears being better not necessarily this year.
  6. Harry was an add-on so they already got who they wanted before. Sharpe is a bigger body WR, so should be next in line behind EQB . Injuries will just move the next guy up. If Pringle isn't ready, V. Jones will just be the starter. May open the door for Finke to make a roster spot.
  7. Actually they signed two Lbers. Javin White was also signed. Played a few games with the Raiders. Also has 4.45 speed.

I heard that the Bears were trying to trade him, but did the Bears actually ever come out and say that? I cant find any tape where that happen.
  9. I haven't backed off of 9 wins, actually that wouldn't win a conference, so I might has well go with 11. Don't want to jinx myself.
  10. It's 9 to 1 odds they win the division. I might as well test my positive attitude and drop 50 on that bet. When the bears went to the SB and Devin Hester run the opening kickoff back for a TD. Me and a friend were in Cano San Lucas at a sports bet and it had 35 to 1 odds . we each bet 20 , A 700 playoff. Needless to say , I was excited , plus the Bears were winning. Then it was downhill from there.

The fact he is still here is telling. Also he has been going to non practice meetings. If he's back on the field, no matter what happened, both sides are still trying to make this work. If he is the beast he is supposed to be, maybe he settles in RG, or an injury propels him to start at OT. If he's back and playing, it can't hurt for trade options either. The more bodies the better. I don't think it's a done deal, there trading him just yet.

You could very well be right, that is no one is talking about a players failure to adapt to new culture. I think the trade rumors got started just because he was in the training room instead of on the field. speculation. Remember when Quinn missed mandatory minicamp. Everyone said he wants to be traded and the team wants to trade him. It was all bullshit, He loves being here.

This is such a strange situation. I just hope he gets back to the field and starts playing.
  14. Something I heard from Efus was that he was going to play projected starters in the preseason to try to get them ready for the opener. So far Efus is doing a excellent job of motivating players and keeping it real in practice. Reiff 's contract is based on snaps, if he gets under 10% of OL snaps, he only gets 3 mil for the year. So it is not beyond the thought that he doesnt start the season as the starter. I think him and Schofield were brought in to add depth and start if the young guys dont prove they are worthy. I think is the young guys show up, they will start.
  15. Most of the top rated LTs are first round picks but out of the top 10 rated there are 3 that were drafted 4th round, 4th round and 3rd round. Lane Johnson, David Bakhtiari and Terron Armstead. So it is not impossible to find a star in later picks. Time will tell if Jones ends up very good, but its a good start to his career. Poles is still a big question mark as far as being a good drafter but with Gordon, Brisker, Jones and Jones, Robinson, Ebner and Kramer, he looks like he will be good at it.
  16. They are filling spots where we have had some injuries. Graham and Karmara are down so we sign Covin and Harris. It looks like Roquan will not be immediately resolved so they bring in a LB, Gates. I like the constant search for other players because that process is where you find players like Akiem Hicks. I think one think that makes everyone better is the push from the coaches to constantly be hustling. They dont let players take players off which will translate into games that mean something. It sounds like AJAK is starting to buy in. Efus wont care if he was all pro 3 yrs ago, its what he is doing on the field right now.

No matter what the reason, he aint going to become a starter unless he's on the field.
  18. Very true but that isn't a take plays off scenario. Our offense will be more time dominated with a good running game.
  19. I think as far as Fields goes, they aren't going to load him up at the start . Emphasis the running game , scheme designed plays to get people open. Mix up his options and go downfield a few times a game. I think Mustifer starts at OC. As much as he played bad last year he keeps hanging around to start somewhere. I think when Patrick gets back, it may be at RG. I think the defense will be good and as the DBs get better end up being a top 10 unit. The only question will be against the run, who shines in that area. If I remember, wasn't Lovie's D , A bend don't break crew? With the speed at LB and the everybody to the ball mentality, it will be fine. it's will increase and win us a few more games that's not expected. The passing game will be fine with our TEs and RB potential. I heard Briggs say this morning, that they will be running out of 12 lineups a lot. 2 TEs . So with good blocking WRs, A fullback and 2 TEs , we should have a loaded running game.
  20. One other league has set September 5th in the evening.so that works for me.
  21. They had injuries . Those type of players don't take plays off. That's how they got so good. Max effort all the time. ( Mack and Hicks). The rest for sure.
  22. I view lots of bears journalist video and Joe Thomas name keeps popping up from several different persons. Obviously he's getting playing time from the Roquan situation, but he is being noticed. Also Q Muhammad has lots of compliments.
  23. I don't think anyone is saying he is good, I think he is like 15 other LTs starting in the league. Stays healthy and gets you by until you can upgrade. Washington has him starting so everyone is not on the same page of bad. If we got to watch other starting LTs in the league, the majority makes mistakes. Orlando Brown is rated high , last year 9 penalties and 4 sacks. Its about perspective.
  24. I was happy we drafted OL and was trying to change the line, but looking back, Leno started day one in Washington. got a descent rating. Last year he had one penalty and gave up 6 sacks out of 1121 snaps. Rieff had 4 sacks in 711 snaps last year. Leno is the definition of average but that is always better than bad. Last year Orlando Brown had 9 penalties 4 sacks out of 1121 snaps. Trent Williams had 7 penalties and 1 sack in 937 snaps.
