It could be just him not being in shape up to what they might have wanted him to be. I doubt if its because he dont hustle. Doesnt mean anything right now. Also Brisker and Gordon are the real deal. Constantly making plays. A podcast with Jahns and Hoge that were at practice and were surprised with Morrow on how fast he is. Also praised the fullback Blasingame. Also noted how well built Pringle is at 6'1". Everyone is praising Gordon and Brisker. How great would that be if they end up being all pro type of players. Barring injuries we should be close to a top 10 defense with the added speed and D-backs.

Websites are waiting to comment for sake of such a serious accusation whether there is any actual truth to it. I seen it on Twitter and of course you have to be careful with junk from Twitter. I seen it on a prominent NFL writer twitter. The fact she claims to have did a rape kit with his DNA as proof was in Feb, and you dont hear anything about it until May should tell you the all you need to know. Why would South African officials wait to deal with this? It would have been headlines in Feb. I think it is all bullshit.

There obviously a problem or someone else would have signed him. Hopefully his condition gets better and then we can sign him.

Clearly the logical stance is to let it play out. He never has come across as a loose cannon, but you never know who people are. I hope not but no one knows. Like you said, even his they had consensual sex, that doesnt mean he raped her. The truth generally wins in these matters. Without doing much research the girl comes across as a sensationalizer by her social media content. Having been a world traveler (26 countries) if a persons is looking for action, it is quite easy to find.

A South African girl accused Roquan Smith of rape on a trip he made to South Africa this winter. She claims to have DNA evidence and pictures. Pictures of being together doesnt prove anything but DNA samples could be deadly.

Not sure where to stick this but seen an interview with Morgan the OL coach that stated he likes Borom a lot and was his idea to move him to LT. Also it was mentioned that in his last yr in college, he did not allow a QB pressure, the only OT in college football that yr to do that. He played for Missouri in the SEC . That's a big deal.
-
Pringle signed a one year deal, if that doesn't motivate you to play better, might as well quit football.

I think the best trait Justin has going for him, is he works hard to do his work. Not everyone has that desire. When covid hit the Big 10 they said they were cancelling the season. He personally took it on himself for them to change their mind.

That's a good article. Actually with all that I look at have never seen Bears Digest before. Now I am hearing all this noise about Quinn wanting to be traded. I think it is a joke. They never sight a source where he stated that. The day before the draft he was interviewed and told the reporter, (he hoped he didnt get traded). Why has this changed? No source given. If someone wanted to be trade , the draft is the most logical time to say that and for it to happen. Any contender that needed a edge rusher drafted one. Cant believe so many writers have bought in to this. Players with their egos always want to be the dog on the defense. With Mack gone, he's the man here.

Pettis is a long shot. He is capable of being a playmaker but other than his first yr, he has no production. I figure there are several WRs that are step up or step out type of tryouts this year. David Moore is another that has showed some production but has no been consistent every where he went. As much as E St Brown has the size and speed they need, he has never had production. Mooney Pringle Jones III ( E St Brown-Moore-Pettis-Sharpe-Newsome-Coulter) 3 of these are out, Newsome is only a slot WR, I think he is gone. Coulter has some size and speed but probably not happening. Sharpe is a no brainer to me, he has some game even thou he's not a burner. St Brown , Moore, and Pettis can play the X but one of them are gone. If Pettis takes a step forward he has the speed. David Moore had 13 TDs in 3 yrs at the #3 WR which is formable. St Brown Sharpe Moore He has been more consistent than Pettis and has 4.38 speed.

I agree with everything you said. I think it's not the organization that promoted this. I think it falls on Poles and Flus that wanted to do this. They didn't do it under Pace and Nagy with George still running the Bears. Every good player that has played here for a long are bearized. Olin , Briggs, Brown, ect. are still pro bears.
-
The reason I think they can be successful early is the unknown, the preseason games will be all the tape out there. I think , unlike Nagy, they will keep it in the scope of where Fields is at in his development. Not try to overload him . Frist we will run the ball to set up the passing game instead of forgetting about the run. We now have speed so that changes how defenses will defend us. This video will show you truths about our WR group.

I have seen some football people saying our offense will resemble SF more than GB. They are similar.

There is a lot of questions on this team, I get the caution, but there are some national writers saying we could only win two games. That is ridiculous. Now if Fields is a total failure, then I will say less than 6 . I think he takes a step forward not backward so I looking at the positives. We only have three games against elite QBs, Rodgers twice and Josh Allen. I dont think Tau or Hurts are special QBs. Carson Wentz doesnt scare me. We have handled Cousins many times. I think for most of the games Fields will end up being the best QB on the field, that gives us a chance. They won 6 games last yr, that is who they are until they show us different. I dont get at how people can be Bears fans and not look at the positive side in the moves they have made, instead of being doomsday critics. The fact is none of us know how this turns out until they start playing games. It is a lot more fun thinking they (might) be good instead of a 2 game winning team.

Some people complained that we didnt resign Daniels, but he gave up 39 pressures last year and was the 62 ranked OG by PFF. He didnt play as well as people think he did. Also Whitehair was consistently the best OL but had a bad year last year. He should be back to a solid starter category this year. Duane Brown and Eric Fisher are still out there so if Poles isnt confidante enough in Borom, I think he will get one. In a lot of the tape he showed they had 4 WRs sets. I dont think we will have much of that with young OTs. As AZ mentioned I guess St Brown could be that extra blocker they will need but most the sets are all outside with wideouts.

It would have been interesting to see if we took Pickens or Thornton if they we still there at 71. Like you said, I dont think Pierce would fit that role. I think maybe Moore has that quickness to do some of that. I dont think Pickens fits that role.I think the possibility exists we may still had picked Jones at 71 if all of those WRs were still available. Or maybe took Pickens and then with a 5th round pick had targeted a different WR more like Jones. Khalil Shakir was still available with our 148th pick. Bo Melton is similar is size and speed as Jones, still there in the 7th round. Both of these players were used in rushing plays as well as a WR. ESPN did there power ranking and put us at 32, the worst team in the league. I cant figure out where national writers think we will be a worse team than last year where we won 6 and potentially could have won 3 other games. Yes we lost AROB, Hicks , and Mack but none of them made big contributions last year anyway. When Fields takes a step forward (totally expect that) this year, that in itself will win more games. This years WR and TE group are better than last year. The OL is still a question mark but I think Poles knows what he is doing and will have that respectable by the time the season starts. I think the D will be better than last year. Our big weakness was the defensive backfield. This team will be much stronger there. I expect Gipson and Q Muhammad to be improved and Quinn to have around 10-11 sacks. More speed and focusing on TOs will have good results. I see 9 to 10 wins.
-
I think Mooney, Pringle and Jones are set and will contribute. The next 2 or 3 will be surprises in a good way. I imagine out of St Brown, Pettis or Sharpe, one will break out. Mooney 4.38 Pringle 4.42 Jones 4.31 Pettis 4.32 St Brown 4.48 Sharpe 4.56 David Moore 4.38

He's had a lot of bad juju going on. As much as money isn't everything. His contract he signed had a 2.4 mil payout if injured. Imagined if he got injured before he got his contract. As least he's taken care of till he can rehab again.
-
Poles will not hit on all players he brought in but at least they are not here on big contracts. The majority are ascending players, ones that have improved every year. For example Morrow in 2019 and 2020 out preformed the two higher paid lLBers the Raiders brought in Kwit and Cory Littleton. Last year he had an injury that caused him to not play. Patrick was a backup in GB and in 2020 played 14 games at LG because of injury. Last year he played 15 games at OC because of injury, gave up 1 sack and 5 pressures. Q Mohammed had 7 sacks and had improved every year. You could seem him break out with Quinn on the other side. All the WRs he brought in have had productive years but never had enough snaps to be consistent. With Hill and kelce getting 393 targets, it was hard for Pringle to shine in KC.
-
They actually did him a favor, they resigned him to designated a injury settlement so he got some money.
-
Until we start playing games his value will look underwhelming, but Poles drafted him with a role in mind. As you said , defenses will have to pay attention to him. I can't wait until he runs off some chunk plays that will shut up all of the negative narrators. What Poles added to the WR room is more speed and more height. Last yr we had only I WR over 6', AROB, we now have 8 currently on the roster.
-
I listen to a lot of Bears content podcasts, I'm A Bears nerd, one national writer said he thought the Bears would only win 2 games but that was OK because Fields would improve in his second year. If Justin Fields takes a step up , that's an argument for the Bears winning 8 or 9 games, not 2. So much negatively because the Bears didn't take a OL and WR with their first 2 picks. A lot of writers on that narrative. I hope the Bears win 10-11 games just to shut those idiots up. Last year we were not good but with the additions to this years team has not made us worse.

Poles values athletics and speed, Jones has it, Newsome doesnt. I think they targeted Velus Jones, and probably were trying to trade back and get extra picks and take him in the 4th where he was projected being drafted. I think they took him early. As soon as Thornton was drafted , they knew Jones would not last long. I think the brain trust figured out how they wanted to use Jones, (Deebo style) and had him high on there list. People look at this as a reach because the draftniks didnt had him rated high, but their job is not on the line by being wrong where the current regime is. Something I think mattered to them was his KR ability. Him and Ebnerr were both excellent KRers and I suspect one will do punts and the other kickoffs. I think Ebner makes the final roster even thou the RB room is crowded with good players. Poles says he wanted playmakers and both fit that mode. One thing Poles did for sure was add speed to this team, something we lacked before. Flus runs the nickel package 80% of the time. Morrow and Roquin will be the LBers in that scheme.4.51 and 4.5. His run the ball mentality will work well with the added speed. I think Jack Sanborn with 4.66 speed will start in the SAM spot . The only weak spot left on D (IMO) is the 3 T position . The starter only gets around 60% of the snaps so we need two. Edwards may be sneaky good as the backup but that remains to be seen. I think the possibility exists that Ogunjobi could be back. If he does, I think we can be a top 10 D with more TOs than last year. All win win.

I follow Greg on twitter and he has some positive things to say. I like when he calls out people like Eric Lambert and Mike Florio for making things up. Some of his insights in the OL as to why I think they may be better than it looks like going in . Another guy I like is Swifty that puts out all Bears content , I like his insights.

Jones will get some go routes but will be mainly in the slot position. St Brown is the X but Sharpe may take some snaps away. Due to the speed of Pettis, he will get some deep routes also. If you look at Ourlads website they list the current depth chart and current roster.
