I think he doesn't get the 20 mil a year he will want , more like 14-15 range. Not sure AZ is a fit, him and Hopkins are similar type WR.
-
With such a lousy offense, AROB missed a lot of opportunities plus his missed games, outcome not good.
-
Still on the roster, Lacan London , Tonga, Goldman, Blackson, Mario Edwards, Sam Karama, Mack, Gibson, and Quinn. I think the regression of Goldman gets him off the roster. We are good at DE, Mack, Quinn, and Gibson. Blackson and Tonga can man the NT spot. I think Karma and Edwards can play the 3T spot, if Poles doesn't agree, he can resign Nichols at a team friendly contract. So I think we will be set on the defensive line.
-
Definitely will need to add a SS, but I think they will fill that in free agency and will at a value. SS seems to be undervalued position. In the 4-3 there is still a NT, I think Nichols could play 3T, he is better suited than Goldman.

Eric Lambert blocked me on Twitter as I criticized one of his articles. He outright lied about his content.

If the oline is important to Poles, then at least sign one stud. They say Jensen will be around 12 mil a Year, Orlando Brown, 20 mil , Armsted, 18 mil, and Cam Robinson around 16.. Cheaper options would be Ted Karras-OC, 5 to 6 mil. Mark Glowinski OG 8 mil. Frankly I would be okay with any of those additions.
-
Do we have players on the roster that can fill those spots? Borom will play somewhere, if he's stays at OT, then a OC or OG. Jenkins has yet to prove he can play, but I think he has the physically and attitude. If they have to pay Daniels 8 to 10 then maybe he decides to spend 12 and get Ryan Jensen. It is unrealistic to think he can get a LT that's starts day one but its possible to find a RT that could do that. Ideally sign Orlando Brown and Ted Karras and your Oline is set with Whitehair, Bosom and Jenkins. Then in the draft grab your WRs (2). A CB, SS and LB. Resign Nichols for 3T. So do we keep Travathan for MLB? Can Snowden, Jeremiah Attaocho, Sam Kamara, and Ledius Mack play anywhere? There are all on the roster.
-
I don't think anyone would pay 12 mil for Monty. I think he will flourish this year with a better line and offense. I would say we might make an offer but 7-8 range. Paying big contracts to RBs hasn't worked out well in the recent NFL. Still you don't want to lose good football players.
-
I would say our brass got most of the coaches they wanted. First completed staff in the NFL. I think that is a head start on getting the season going. Cudos to them.

I just seen a story about Ted Karras, OC , Patriots. UFA, 28 started for NE last year because David Andrews was out for the year due to injury. Previous year started for Dolphins. Went U of I and comes from Chicago. Would be a cheap target to be our starting OC. Maybe 3 year 14 mil. To be honest, have no idea how well he played. Anyone have information?

I just got done reading the interview with those statements made. Thanks anyways.
-
He has stated several times how you can find players in the 2nd and 3rd wave of FAgency. I expect one expensive contract to be given out. LT Orlando Brown, OC Ryan Jensen, LT Terrain Armsted, LT Cam Robinson. WR Mike Gallup, WR Mike Williams, WR DJ Chark, WR Christian Kirk OG Graham Glasgow, Mark Glowinski, OG Taken Tomilson I can see us given a 12 mil a yr contract to one of these. Realistically Ryan Jensen, DJ Chark, Christian Kirk, Mark Glowinski are the only ones that fall in that price range.
-
Where did you see he stated value system? I haven't read that. The only two statements I seen him make are to improve the OL and playmakers for Fields.
-
This year will be different for Monty, I think with a better oline, and more efficient passing game , Monty has a banner year. If you look to GB, they resigned Aaron Jones at 12 mil a Year even with Dillion in the wings. They will offer him 8 mil a Year, and he will move on. I bet they draft a RB with their last pick. Poles will be realistic with handing out big contracts. KC hasn't paid any RB big money, they just keep drafting new RBs that still produce. They won't be trading him, they value the running game.but will take advantage of him being here.
-
I'm curious if Charles Snowden could play the Sam LB spot? He's still on the roster and was originally projected as a 3-4 Rd pick. Not sure why he dropped. If we have some cheap talent already here , it would be very favorable for cap structure. Also Sam Kamara is still here , could he play the 3-T in a backup role? They like his pass rush ability.
-
Definitely will carry a FB on the roster.
-
Monty is under contract he's not going anywhere. They will let it play out. Tonga can play NT , which is part of this scheme. I think they let Goldman, and Trevathan go. Blackson is still signed, he takes over the NT spot and Tonga backs him up. If they re-sign Nichols, he will be the 3-T.
-
Getsy was really impressive, he seems like he gets it. Play to the players strengths. I think defensively we will be very competitive, offense can't be as bad as last year and if Fields has growth, we will have something good going on.
-
Sutton signed a new contract, he's not coming. Poles stated 2and 3 Rd wave players. That means the top name include AROB won't be here. Chark and Kirk are probably the best of those options, but if their are bidding wars for their service, I doubt we compete. So I think WRs like Pringle, Zay Jones, Valdez-Scanling may be our choices. Mooney Newsome Grant ( gadet plays). 2 drafted WRs Valdez-Scandling This may be our group.
-
At this point all we can do is take their word for it that they will try to win, so they will not be getting rid of any good players. When you try to trade older players, you usually are losing value. Monty will not get more than a 3rd round pick and he is still young. How they value our players will go along way to what they do. Key answers, who of our current team we keep. On defense, need a 3T, MLB, 2 CBs and a SS. If they resign Blair Nichols-3-T, Ogletree-MLB, Graham can play , plays NCB, maybe they think Deon Bush can play SS? At worst they need 1= CB, 1=SS and another LB. On offense, Jenkins and Borom can play and they resign Daniels. Add 1 OL. 2WRs and a TE. They resign Jesse James. At this point we are not far away. In the draft they will bring in 2 starters, 2 that contribute. We are not that far away. So off season, bring back Daniels, Jesse James, J. Grant, Nichols, Ogletree, D. Bush, DHC, Chirstian Jones.
-
I'm going to come back around on this since it is huge need. D.J. Chark is a good target but Jacksonville has 60 mil in cap so if they want him back, they can outbid us. Hopefully they want to upgrade and go after one of the top 3. Gallup was another name mentioned but with the potential of Cooper being cut they may decide to try to keep Gallup . Another good name is mentioned, Mike Williams. OTC says his value will be 15 mil a year. I think that will be to rich for our cap situation, plus why would Chargers let him get away , they are in good cap space. Chirstian Kirk seems like a reasonable get. AZ has cap problems and he will be in a 6-8 mil range. I think Poles may wait and draft a couple WRs with high picks since one of the drafts strengths is WR. A few second wave names to consider: Bryon Pringle, Valdes-Scantling, Zay Jones.

In one month we will have our answers. We will see who he resigns and then who he targets in free agency. since I tink we all agree , he will give Roquin a new contract. That will limit our FA money. I think 1 expensive contract and the 2nd and 3rd wave FAs. If he goes after a OL, that will say a lot about his evaluation of our players.
-
I think team wise its your foundation players. Monty, Roquin, Quinn, Mack, Mooney and Johnson. I think it is always evolving. Fields elevates to blue chip this year. EJAC was and could be back under an aggressive defensive coach. I think Jenkins will make hid presence known and become that. If they resign Daniels and move him to OC, he could become that.He is only24 years old. I think a problem with the team last year was poor leadership in coaching and on the field. You demand excellence, and it will motivate Jackson ( hopefully). With a new group of coaches, the leaders need to step up. Fields, Jenkins and Monty on offense. Mack, Roquin, and Johnson on defense. I think Jenkins will give you the Olin Kruetz type of attitude and kick people's ass . Fields has to step up. Mooney had a very good year as a 5th round pick in his second year. 81, 1055 and 4 tds. All of that with little support from AROB taking pressure off of him. I think Kmet can take a step also. He quietly had 62 catches 602 yds. These guys had these numbers with a dysfunctional offense all yr. Mooney is a quality #2. They need to find the #1 at pick 39 in this yrs draft. WRs that may be there: George Pickens David Bell John Metchie

Seen a video of an interview with Poles on ESPN. They asked him about free agency. He said that there are a lot of players in tier2 and 3 that can add to your football team. I think besides getting Roquin on a long term deal, there will only be one high priced FA added. The rest will be after the first wave of deals. The only expensive deal KC added last year was Joe Tuney, the rest were mid level deals.

Poles has to evaluate the oline but what if he likes Whitehair, Jenkins and Borom? If he thinks Daniels is a good OC and brings him back? That would only be one new spot to fill the OL. To be fair, we know very little about Jenkins and Borom, so they will be like new additions. If he chooses to bring in free agents, I don't want a average signing. I want LTs like Armsted, Cam Robinson or Orlando Brown. Or OC Ryan Jensen. That instantly give us some creed. Between the OL and extending Roquin, that will be our big FA money gets. So in looking to fill in spots on D and new WRs, they will be on the cheap side. You figure the draft could land us 2 starters, and a couple team contributors. A WR and CB?
