Rod Hood In High Demand Posted by Mike Florio on May 20, 2009, 1:20 p.m. The Cardinals surprisingly released cornerback Rod Hood in the days after the draft. Hood’s base salary, coupled with his potential unwillingness to accept a reserve role, contributed to his ouster in Arizona. And he has since become a hot commodity. We’re told that he has received a contract offer from the Rams, and that he’ll next be visiting the Bears. Other teams in the mix include the Lions and Browns. The Bengals are out of the picture. Hood has a connection to Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo; they both previously were in Philly together.

After posting in Jason's "Best Mock I can do thread" about CBs I figured I'd just summarize what I see of the top CBs after watching film on Draftbreakdown. I'm copying what I wrote about Hargreaves in that thread. Among the top 4 CBs in this draft I could live with any of them. I'm just not confident grabbing one at #11. We could drop back to #20 and grab whoever is left and be just as well off IMO. That's kind of the way this draft is after the top 10 picks. Hargreaves... I really hope he gets picked up by anyone but Denver. If this kid had a team around him that could block for $H!+ he would be able to put up some really good numbers. I am personally quite upset with the decision to kick him after these questionable run ins with the "law" Nfo made me feel a little better with his post about Ced but unless we get a healthy Kevin Jones (who would need to learn the offense still) I am still very scared about our RB depth. Not surprised this hasn’t been mentioned here since there wasn’t a lot of love for Mr Benson on this site. Still, too young to die and I hope he rests in peace.

I read a posters comments on a player, and it got me wonder. What do you all think is more important in this draft, for the bears. Often player, particularly after the 1st, who have the highest value may also come w/ a lower floor, or a great bust potential. Esentially, you have the chance to get a guy who could have been a 1st round pick, and could be a pro bowl player (or maybe just very good) but comes w/ some flags, whether it be character, injury history/potential, tweaner, position change, etc. So the question I have is, are we better off going after the player w/ a lower ceiling, but higher floor, or the player w/ the higher ceiling yet lower floor? …

It seems with all these signings, that Kruetz is not on the Bears list as a need. I wonder if they plan on Moving Garza to Center or hoping Linnenkohl is all they thought he was. This will make a very interesting time , that for sure.

So I'm sitting here watching CTL (which is a stupid show as David Kaplan is an a**hole) and of course Kaplan wants the Bears to go out and get a huge named WR, just like he wanted Favre. Well, they brought up Chad Johnson. Originally, Cincy turned down two 1st rounders from the Redskins, and I bet they would do that now in a heartbeat. However, now he might be only worth a 2nd and a 4th. Would you make a trade for Chad Johnson? What would you give up for him, if you previously answered yes?

I saw that he was released and not sure if he signed with anyone -- he has some talent but injury problems. Do you take a look?

I think Chad Johnson is really trying hard to get out of Cincy and he may just get his wish now. Released from Denver. Since Tillman doesn't want to play S and apparently Emery doesn't have much in the way of loyalty, would the Bears have use of him as a potential Safety?

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 40m Free agent CB Champ Bailey, who feels healthy, said he is willing to play nickel or safety if that's what it takes to land a job somewhere. I think Conte has played well when he's out there, but this is intriguing to me. Would be nice to have a veteran voice back there.

Watching ATL at SF. It seems like on every play, the receiver who catches the ball is WIDE open. Where are the defenses this post season?
