Great pick, didn't expect him to be there. Safety a huge strength for defense. Most mocks had him going in the top 20, good value at 25.

After watching them this whole season (living in MN...) and seeing the weapons that he has to become the QB that he is, I don't give many props to Aaron Rodgers. JA said last year they were happy with the Oline unit as a whole and that it would take time for them to gel as a unit. Everyone else has been calling for an upgrade to he Oline for the last 4 to 5 years. The last decent oline we had was 06 when Thomas Jones and Benson had a good year. Emery takes over and the only big thing that has been done was the Marshal trade. Two things that we know- Williams and Carmi are coming back. This will help the oline unit as a hole. Our OLine was one of our strong groups last year, injuries prevented it from being achieving top credits. What we have: Leno is rated by most accounts as average for a LT. Considering he has a fair contract value it makes him doable going forward. IMO: A upgrade would be nice but I think the Bears live with him a few more years and draft a replacement somewhere in the draft. Sitton is a quality OG top rated by most. He is 31 turning 32 next year and has missed 6 games in the last 2 years. IMO: He will get 8 mil this year which I think could come into play with a player starting the…

We're not done on the OL. In free agency I think we are at that point where there are a bunch of equally rated players around, and no one wants to be first to pay one. Pace is smart to bide his time. I also think that we will probably be taking an OG or OT in the 2nd round. Don't sleep on the OT position, no ones talking about it, but we may be looking there more than OG. I see at least 2 more players coming at OL before the draft and free agency are over.

Sort of shocking considering most guys with first round grades were still on the board, and Courtland Sutton went one pick after us to the Broncos. So hopefully Daniels becomes a perennial starter and helps anchor the interior. I would've personally moved down and accumulated picks (if possible). There was a run on OLINE (3 in 5 picks) so I am sure that had something to do with it.
