The math can begin.

Another week gone by and another wasted opportunity to fire Harry. The Oline was horrible to start the game. The Browns were clearly mixing up the pass rush but still we need better from this group. Some running lanes were opened later in the game but pass protection was rarely seen. RB: I'm getting tired of Forte dancing around at the LOS. On at least one play late in the game Forte completely blew his pass protection assignment and got Cutler leveled. On one of his goal line runs he stayed up high and got stopped for no gain when he could have lowered his pads and gained at least 1/2 yard or more. Isn't this fundamental RB stuff? Lovie said after the game that "it's very serious and not looking good". Great. Does this mean we have to draft another DT? Dvoracek is injured all the time and not that productive even when he's in. Harrison has been a pleasant surprise but Idonije is medicore. Harris is playing better, though. Adams is a solid player, as well.

I respect his decision and hope he has no long term health affects. This will be another red flag on an issue that gets pushed aside in the NFL. I know it is not Bear related, but many of us here talked about this kid before the draft and his success his rookie year.

Per the Bears' website, Earl Bennett is changing his number from 85 to 80. Apparently he wanted to go back to his college number (10) but the NFL won't let you switch from an 80-89 number to a 10-19 number. Seems like a dumb rule to me. However, he's now got 80, Berrian's old number. The superstitious part of me thinks that could be a good thing. The way I see it, the Bears QB and RB situation are nearly the same. QB: Two average starters who have done well at times, horrible at others. Nobody from other teams is scared of either Bears' QB. RB: Two average starters (and a younger guy who is outside the box), who have some good qualities, but several bad ones as well. Nobody from other teams is going to stack the box because they're afraid of the Bears' running game. So, all the talk about Mendenhall got me thinking.... After the Miami loss, this game is way more important. After starting 3-1, it will suck to drop to 3-3 after 6 games. 4-2 would keep us in 1st place in the Division regardless of what GB or MIN do. Who's idea was it to get rid of Chris Harris? Angelo or Lovie? I know hindsight is 20/20 but seriously there was no need for this move at the time. Even at the time I was thinking this wasnt neccesary. Imagine him in our backfield now.

Angelo stated that he wanted to make sure he had cap room available, not just to sign his own guys, but to try and sign free agents also. Depending on what happens with Berrian, the most likely positions Angelo will target IMO are RB & OG. Thought this was a good summary of him. What I liked is how he worked as a UDA to make it. Then worked in personell and got some scouting perspective until moving into the coach ranks. Love the aggressive D and aggressive mind-set and the results have been very encouraging. Big question to me is how does he lead and does he have a big picture vision that is necessary to be a head coach.
