Prospect A. (+)Has all the intangables and leadership qualities. Tough and plays through pain and takes command of the team. Strong arm and can complete all the intermediate routes. Decent mobility and can throw accurate on the run. (-)Doesn't shine at any physical aspect, but not poor at any either. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prospect B. (+)Has it all from a physical standpoint. Perfect height and weight for a QB and can take a hit. Is athletic enough to avoid the rush and buy time in the pocket. Can make all the throws and has great arm strength. PFT is reporting that since Nicks tweeked his hamstring at the combine he has been unable to workout and has gained around 15lbs. Besides not working out, he must be eating a bunch of twinkies as well. Otherwise, there is no way you gain that much weight in that short of time. Same article says he has already lost some of the weight and has a workout scheduled with the Bears and Fins.

Cutler meeting with offensive coordinator candidates Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 15, 2010 11:15 AM ET With Pete Carroll involved in G.M. interviews, it's fair to wonder if he's the one voice that matters in Seattle. A similar dynamic may be playing out in Chicago, but the voice belongs to a player. Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo confirmed that Jay Cutler is a key part of the interview process as the Bears search for an offensive coordinator. "We've involved Jay, and we'd like to have him meet with [all] the candidates," Angelo said. "He understands the whole process, and he knows we want him involved. This is not the first time we've involved a player…

Is this guy ever going to show up? Is he hurt? I don't think he's getting constantly double teamed but I could be wrong. Harrison has more of an impact than Harris does at this point in time. I think I heard Tommie's name once in 2 games so far. Anybody else worried?

  6. Reports are, apparently the 49'ers got into his head on Monday, and today he got a demotion. Supposedly he couldn't handle it and quit the team. Lol. And no I'm not making this up This marks the 2nd player to quit the team this year. Remember Devin Thomas abruptly left in Training camp because he was sick of football. Sean Jensen ‏@seankjensen The 49ers knew how to "get in his head," a source told me about Chilo Rachal, who gave up 1 sack, 1 hurry & committed 2 holding penalties Expand Reply Retweet Favorite And Vaughn says vaughn mcclure ‏@vxmcclure23 According to multiple sources, Chilo Rachal became upset after being demoted for Chris S…

I hear it over and over, so I wanted to check a bit. There is probably some legit study piece out there that went into far greater detail, but when looking over the 1st round OL drafted in the last 10 years, it sure does seem like OL is a pretty safe pick. Does that mean there we no busts? Obviously not, but the number simply seems less. One potential reason, IMHO, is how many OTs were drafted in the 1st, who were expected to be LTs, but didn't make it there and ended up becoming solid RTs or inside OL. Their inability to play LT may have been a disappointment, yet at the same time, still being a solid or better starter is a huge plus. Is there any other positi…

Just wanted to see who you guys think will lead some statistical categories. Here are mine: TD receptions: Olsen (7) Receptions: Hester (71) Receiving Yards: Hester (1123) Tackles: Briggs (149) Sacks: Ogunleye (10.5) Interceptions: Tillman (6) Forced Fumbles: Tillman (7) Biggest surprise: Ogunleye (special mention: Iglesias, Kevin Jones) Biggest letdown: Vasher (special mention: Anderson [at this point, is him struggling even a letdown though?], Bennett) Bears finish 11-5 and win the NFC with a 27-13 win at home vs Atlanta.

Tiki Barber Who wouldn't want a 36 year old running back who retired 4 years ago? Looks like the analyst gig wasn't working out.

So often we ask whether the QB makes the WR or the other way around. W/o saying this is evidence for the question as a whole, how about this for our specific element of the question. Johnny Knox, a 5th round pick rookie from a small school has 8 catches for 152 yards and 1 TD. Brandon Marshall has 7 catches for 61 yards and no scores. Eddie Royal has 5 catches for 38 yards and no scores. In Denver, w/ Cutler, Marshall and Royal were an elite WR combination. Royal was a rookie, but played beyond his years and experience while Marshall was seen as one of the top 5 WRs in the game. W/ Cutler, these two WRs are not even worth a flex start on a FF roster…

We tended an offer to Bellamy/WR so that will be our 5th WR slot Jeffery White Royal ? Bellamy so if we only keep 5, does that mean Wilson fills that spot? or do we bring in a rookie that can play STs? I think we keep Wilson and draft a player that we stash on our practice squad in case of injury

You boys know I'm one of the biggest koolaid kids here. So, it may surprise you to hear this... THIS TEAM SUCKS. No, not tonight. Who gives a SHIT about tonight? * I've been bitching about the O Line for 3 years or longer. Angelo has ignored it. Biggest problem on the team now, no question. * We bring in almost an entirely new coaching staff. Everyone knows it usually takes a new staff two years to pull it all together. What do we do? We SIT our starters for most of the preseason and when they play they SUCK BALLS. * We have one of the toughest schedules I can remember. Our own division is great and we play the east in the AFC and NFC. ARE YOU KIDDIN…

This hasn't been talked about, but does anyone think that we've seen the end of Pace. Shaffer came in against the 49ers because Pace got the "wind knocked out of him". I'm not buying that.

There are some pro's and con's with Shanny, as there are with every guy. Let me ask you guys this: Bowles or Shanny? Cant decide Toub or Shanny? Shanny Gase or Shanny? Shanny Quinn or Shanny? I could go either way on this one Kubiak or Shanny? I could go either way on this one There is a part of me that is intrigued by Bowles after reading up on him, but then I think about hiring a guy with actual HC experience and tend to lean that way. As we have seen with Trestman, the Bears HC will need to form a great coaching staff. I wonder which of these guys would be able to bring in the best staff?

(AZ did you get to see him play for the Wildcats?) From what I see, if anyone was expendable, Forte could/should be the one sent packing. Maybe in the form of a trade? In watching some film on he and Langford they quite literally look like the same back. Forte might have a little more of a jukability in the open field but when you compare their videos coming out of college, they are quite literally the same. Or would it be better to keep four? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colum...108-column.html Quote from the article: Then, in what one source described as McCaskey's quest to break the cycle, Pace emerged after an impressive interview that dazzled McCaskey and President Ted Phillips. It probably helped Pace's cause that Ballard challenged the Bears hierarchy during his meeting by wanting to limit Phillips' involvement, according to another source. We will likely never know how much Ballard's boldness intimidated the Bears or Pace's panache simply enthralled them. But the tide turned. When I say I want the new guy to have total control I don't mean just in player personnel decisions. …

  20. The Bears have done another good job at creating excitement for this seasons team. The retooled defense will have a different look for sure. The offense will be a wait and see as they made some major moves too. I like to walk the edge with my player picks: Defense Deiondre Hall DB - this guy has good length, high football IQ, and does what it takes in run or pass. I do not see him getting much time to showcase his game early on unless there are injuries. His skill set will compliment Fuller well since he w is great against the run. Donatell will do good grooming Hall and I think he will be a name we watch making plays on Sundays. Offense Eddie Royal WR- …
