There is an interesting article on NFL.com about Free Agency in an uncapped year and how it is not going to be lucrative for players and the new rules for FA that are involved. I was watching the game last night and right after Blank said Vick might be able to return if he doesnt eat too much fried chicken one of my friends called me and we were curious if it was gonna be brought up today as an issue. Sure enough, theyve been talking about all day. I personally dont think it was meant to be a racial comment but with a subject as touchy as Vick it doesnt surprise me it was brought up.

Maybe I didn't pay much attention to it before because I never saw him play, but I just took a look at his numbers and was shaking my head as to how they equate him into Hall of Fame status. Somebody help me out here. He plays 7 seasons, only rushes for over 1000 yards twice, he wasn't that effective in the passing game, and only had 7 150+ yard games in his career. Matt Forte has already doubled that. I know they only played 14 games during that era and he did some great things on special teams but to me, Sayers numbers are not even close to Hall of Fame worthy. Is Forte going to eclipse Sayers as the 2nd best Bears running back before his career is over? That might actu…

He had a great game catching the ball and the blocking was very good for him (over 100 yds in receiving). The offense did do a very good job on screens tonight. I saw great blocking from Kruetz. Garza, and Bennett. Peace

With Tait's retirement looming, we are looking at approx 32 million to use in free agency. That number could increase if some cuts are made. Another scenario that makes this money huge is that we have no big name FA's to re-sign. I have big on re-signing St. Clair. I'm no longer on the bandwagon for signing him no matter what. If he can't be had for a decent price before FA begins, it's time to roll the dice. Who I like: Khalif Barnes. He had a down year, but didn't all the Jags. He's young and has shown his talent. He's the best remaining OT out there and provides us great flexibilty. Next up is the WR's. Gotta go Houshmandzadeh here. Orton needs a #1…
