From last night: St. Clair over Metcalf - although I would rather see Beekman or Oakley play, thankfully they have benched Metcalf. Gilmore inactivated, Nick Roach on ST - He played all 4 phases of special teams. I think this means Gilmore is gone. Kennedy and Toeaini - Yeah, Walker is hurt but hopefully they realize he is not worth the investment and keep these 2 in the rotation. Still waiting to see Hass but at least they are bringing in some fresh bodies. Peace

Not much going on right now and since I like moving my mouth, I will talk frankly. With Emery(last year) and Trestman this year, we have is new blood and new hopes to hang our hat on. Although I thought Lovie was a good coach, he had way to many bad habits I didnt like. He talked down to people in interviews, had bad clock management, was to loyal to players that didnt pan out, and no offensive prespective. PFT just announced the Detroit Lions signed Bryant Johnson for 3 years 9 million. Yesterday, David Haugh reported Johnson was a guy the Bears might be interested in. So he's off the board. T.J. Housh is flying to Minnesota today or tomorrow to talk with them. How damn good will that offense be if they can sign him? Is it me, or is the only regular analyst on there with any bit of sense or credibility is Sapp? I'm not mentioning outside guys like Mike Mayock and Warner. But Rich Eisen, Jamie Dukes, Casserly, Laconfora, and Greer(dont know him well).... these guys are so pro-NFL garbage it makes me furious. Seriously, could someone on this board be a better GM than Angelo when it comes purely to talent evaluation and drafting? With regards to the salary cap, let's just pretend that someone else is handling it on the team (even though I think LT2 could do a better job than anyone on the Bears). In regards to the draft only, do you think that someone from the board would have done a better job than Angelo since he's been with the Bears?

This news is a few weeks old, but it looks like most teams will start training camp on July 28th (in 2 weeks). Crazy I know. Also, it looks like teams will not bring in 90 players due to COVID-19 and because they won't have time to properly evaluate all of them and get the roster cut down in time. The consensus is that the NFL won't play any preseason games even though two are currently scheduled for late August. I would assume there is going to be a lot more soft tissue injuries this year if they don't have any physical contact build up. However, if that reduces the number of COVID cases, then that is the best move. So what do you think…

I posted this to equate to the Hester situation. It may belong in the Hester thread. Both are 3rd year players that have way outdone their rookie deals. Maybe JA and Parker will look at that as a reference. Hester should make no less than Colston, but not a lot more - IMO.
