Bearstalk

Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. Started by adam,

Some great numbers from Jay against some great defenses this year: - 27 more yards from his all-time high as a Bear, 360 from 4,000 yards - 66.1 Completion %, career high - 28 TD's, career high - 18 INTs, still 8 less than career high - 89.5 QB Rating, career high - 27 Turnovers, 3 less than career high

  2. No idea validity of this but literally 4 people at work came by in last 5 minutes asking me if it was true, haha, so apparently this has been pretty widely reported. Probably a lot of junk but I presume nothing is to prevent teams from discussing hypothetical trades even though deadline hasn't been reached so I could see a scenario where that is the case. I just question why we would allow our current management team to make any sort of deal, unless of course, some people are sticking around (or the McCaskey's feel so strongly / needed this type of assurance that they could move him with the logic being they had to know 100% that they could dump Cutler because that woul…

  4. More at link http://chicagofootball.com/2014/12/18/hub-...-list/akjn3ia/# A lot of us have been asking for a football czar. Didn't think it was possible that ownership would be smart enough to recognize this, but apparently the chatter has already started. Holmgren was pretty much a disaster with Cleveland though as their President of Football operations man, so I don't really like hearing his name. Still, hearing this is at least a step in the right direction if they have finally figured out that something like this needs to happen.

He didn't have to be at the press conference today but he did. He was honest and sincere. I want him gone but I want to recognize that he handled this extremely well today. Peace

  9. Started by adam,

Now has anyone ever considered that his blood sugar levels could be affecting his play/decision making? Having first hand experience with Type 1 Diabetes, their blood sugar is always on their mind, and there are times where they are just "off". Lows cause shakiness, confusion, dizziness, etc. Just thought this was a interesting take on the situation as it is rarely discussed or mentioned in the media. Check out this article: http://www.endocrineweb.com/conditions/dia...type-1-diabetes

  10. Started by Chitownhustla,

If the Bears fire emery and staff it will cost them 15 million. If they are not able to trade Cutler it will cost them another 15 million if they cut him. It will cost the Bears 30 million dollars to clean house. If they clean house no one can blame them for being cheap(I stopped blaming them for being cheap awhile ago but some still do). That also doesn't even take into consideration on how much they will be paying the new staff.

  12. Started by DABEARSDABOMB,

Rumor out of Washington that Snyder is interested in Cutler and is considering swapping picks and sending us Kirk Cousins for Jay Cutler. I presume he is tired of drafting QB's and figures that would give the Skins a bit more stability. For us, Cousins is someone we could at least utilize a bit while we use the Redskins pick to draft a franchise QB (if think he is in this draft). Obviously no deal is going to be made now, but man that would be awesome!

  16. With the media furore and the fans venting their frustration I hope whoever makes the decisions after the season is over does it rationally and without emotion. The first thing that should be considered is do we want to go through a Chicago Cubs rebuild i.e. Get rid of Emery, Trestman, coaches and playing staff because if they clean house from top to bottom then whoever comes in will change the players. Whether a rebuild is or isn't required should be determined with the following observations: 1. What affect they last 2 seasons can be attributed to Angelo's drafting. If you look at Greenbay the majority of their roster is built from drafting. This gives you more o…

We dont need any sugar coating wins... and no b.s. wins to give us another shea mclellin draft spots... GO SAINTS! Call me a traitor but i call myself a realist and opprotunist... right now we r lookin at a top ten pick!

  18. Started by BearFan2000,

Was listening to the score before the pregame and they gave me an idea. Bad Bears Bingo. I made a list of all the typical dumb things the Bears do in a course of a game and made up a bingo card of those things and as I see it happen on screen, I place a bingo chip LOL Might as well find a way to entertain myself while watching this disaster of a football team.

  19. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/12/16/gab...g-hasnt-worked/ Fantastic article with a lot of insight he has collected from his contacts in the organization. I highlighted a couple key quotes below but this really is a must read and Gabriel hits everything right on the head. I keep saying, a lot of stories are going to come out when the Trestman era ends and they aren't going to be flattering.
