  2. with no GM in place: a good or bad choice, i don't know. here ya go... "Report: Bears Have No Interest In Rex Ryan Former Jets coach Rex Ryan is not among one of the coaches the Bears are interested in interviewing, per a report from ProFootballTalk.com." http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/01/03/rep...st-in-rex-ryan/ we would consider quinn a DC who has never been a HC and no offensive anything experience over ryan a defensive minded coach who has been a HC in the NFL. where is the logic in this? go figure.

  3. I don't know if this was mentioned elsewhere, but I like the idea of getting as much professional assistance as possible. This looks promising, and since this panel was just formed, we obviously did not use it last time. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...or-new-gm-coach

Rumors circulating around that Chip Kelly wants to opt out of his contract after the dismissal of his buddy Tom Gamble. Gamble + Kelly? Too good to be true. I would absolutely love it, but I could see Chip going back to college if there is not a perfect situation out there.

I've read differing accounts about what Ted Phillips role will be. What is the latest and has anything concrete come out of Halas Hall?

Not that he's probably in consideration but seeing Jim Mora (the younger one - currently UCLA HC) mentioned as a HC possibility for other teams. In keeping with the thought of second (or in his case third) chances, similar to Belichick or Carroll he could make a case for a decent comeback. Would he be someone the Bears should consider? He has clout, experience and a little edge. Although my #1 choice continues to be Shannahan. Then maybe Kubiak.

Im only going to discuss positions of need, not all the guys that are or will be draft eleigible in 2015. Cam Erving: started the year LT, but switched to Center to help the team as that position was an issue. Running game, line protection and offensive efficiency improved. Show how versatile he is and can multiple positions. Keep an eye in him. He came to FSU as Dt and coaches told him his future is at OL, he trusted the coaches, so he's definitely a team player. Redshirt senior, so he's definitely mature and physically ready. Would be a great replacement for Roberto at Center PJ Williams: Guy can cover and play the run as a cb. Is aggressive and does not back…

Who can be cut without detriment to the team? I don't give a damn if it's half the team, to be quite honest. I think Jared Allen is untouchable because of the money, but who else falls into that boat? The only players on defense who I want kept are cheap, good, or financial obligations. But I don't have a real interest in any except Jennings, Peanut, Fuller, Jones, Jennings, Young, and Paea.

I know this has been discussed before, but may be news to some: http://www.sbnation.com/2014/12/30/7467853...li-bruce-arians Basically Marinelli was in charge of interviewing new HCs, Arians was first choice, Bevell 2nd, and Trestman a distant 3rd. Emery went against Rod's recommendation and the rest is history.
