As we sit here three weeks plus after the firing of five offensive coaches and announcing that we are going to bring in a new defensive coordinator, does it seem that this team is getting more and more chaotic and being a total laughing stock within the NFL? There has been a lot of speculation on why the Bears have not hired any coordinators and hired only Mike Tice at this point. Is there now a stigma on this team with the fact that most everyone is seeing the writing on the wall that the current head coach is a total lame duck and no one truthfully wants to come in and coach knowing that the probability next season that they will all be looking for a new job. People t…

I took a look at the roster and moves the team has made since the end of the season to see where the holes were in the 53-man roster to see where they will look next. Based on that, here are some positions they will address: 1. Safety - The team lost HHCD, McManis, and Houston-Carson this offseason, 3 of 5 opening day safeties. I think they have a chance to bring back Houston-Carson, and maybe even McManis, but right now the team is down 3 safeties, the most of any position group on the team. 2. OL - The team lost Long, Lucas, and Larsen from the opening day roster, but eventually gained Bars. However, the team is down at least 2 OL right now. 3. ILB - The …

Com Att % Yards Y/per TD INT Rating Yards Per 211 334 63.2 2,510 7.52 14 6 92.5 251 If he continues at this rate % = 63.2 Yards = 3,765 TD's = 20 INT = 9 Rating= 92.5 I think that would be a great year for Cutler. 5 games left 3 home games against some of the lower ranked teams ie SF, Was, Det, Tam and MN are away. Hope Cutler at least keeps up the same level play but would love to see him hit a hot streak to finish off the season strong. Most of his rankings are around the 15 range, not top 10 stats. I think for b…

  6. Yep, the players f'ed up. Bad decisions were made and poor execution was abound. However, the buck stops at the coach. Bottom line, this team did not look prepared to play. He did get the defense going, but Smith did not have this club ready to play at a high level. He needs to right that wrong, and get this team motivated next weekend. He's got all of this season to prove me wrong, but I still don't feel he is good enough to get this team to the promised land.

In my mind I see Bears doing following: Free Agent Starters: FA center (Falcons or Colts centers) FA guard (Chiefs guard is the big swing) DE (Chase Young is my big) FA guard (Zeitler) Depth moves: Depth DT (lower cost - but run stuffer type for depth behind Billings / ensure flexibility in draft) Depth WR (Tim Patrick) Depth Oline (swing tackle and guard - my guess is Pryor is back) This gives Bears a TON of flexibility when they get into draft as interior oline would be significantly revamped with pass rush also upgraded. Allows Bears to swing a few shots but be in a position where they could develop as we…

Hester was the only Bear to make it. Surprised some others didn't even make 2nd team honors. No Briggs or Harris. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true

So Cutler is on the radio and asked about the WRs, and who he expects to breakout, and he once again, immediately goes to DA, then mentioning Iglesias. I bring this up because we keep hearing (I think from the staff) that Hester and Knox appear to be the starters. Last year, Cutler seemed to beg for DA to play. This year, Cutler again really seems to be pushing for DA to have a key role. Will he? So, how do you all see the WRs shaking out and/or how (if different) would you like to see it shake out. What I would like. DA and Knox as the starters. Both have speed and DA has size. Great talent duo here. Hester in the slot. I know the staff reall…

  10. Here we go. Well-traveled, warm-weather Rams playing at Soldier Field. This is going to be a shootout. Bears start as 3.5 underdogs, which seems about right.

  12. Time to liquidate some assets to address the big issues. 1. Let Briggs go. He is good...but not as good as he thinks...the D was bad this year with him here IMO that means he isnt a difference maker. Besides Chicago area uteruses could use a break. 2. Trade Dez Clark...use him to move up in the draft if need be. 3. Trade Alex Brown. Same scenario. The points of 2 and 3 are to clear out where there is depth...and use some of that to obtain additional picks or pick value. 4. Dump Miller, do not re-sign Reuben. Rationale is not a good one...I am getting the vibe that Lovie and Co value veterans over talent in key areas... 4b. If nec…

Chicago Tribune According to the article it was a scope and the plan currently is that he will be ready for Indy. Even if his timetable is 3 weeks to return, I can't imagine putting him out there after he has been sitting for 4 weeks. I bet he returns for week 3.

Since this season is already over other than for watching the progress of Caleb, I took a look at the 2025 opponents based on the current records and seeding. On paper, it will be one of the toughest schedules in the league again with only 5-6 "winnable" games. The strong division makes the entire schedule that much tougher. 11 games against teams at .500 or better, 6 games vs sub .500 teams. Home Detroit Lions 9-1 Green Bay Packers 7-3 Minnesota Vikings 8-2 Dallas Cowboys 3-7 (Dak will be back) New York Giants 2-8 (should be ez win) Cleveland Browns 2-8 (should be ez win) Pittsburgh Steelers 8-2 Carolina Panthers 3-7 (currently 4th in NFC S) (shou…

  19. Here we go. I don't think I would ever imagine that I would be talking about the 9-3 1st Place Chicago Bears playing the 8-3-1 Green Bay Packers in Week 14, but here we are. This is going to be another weather game with game time temps in the teens, chance of snow and some light wind. Until this team loses, it is hard to bet against them right now. I am going to say 24-20 Bears in another one-score game.
