Supposedly Sirius Radio said Johnson was close to signing with the Bears? I can't find a site linking this rumor, but I caught it on other message boards. Wouldn't this be a pleasant surprise. Bryant Johnson to Bills, Bucs or Skins? Joel Segal, the agent for free-agent wide receiver Bryant Johnson, said Wednesday night that he is in negotiations with three teams -- not including the Bears -- and anticipates having a deal done by the weekend. Interest in Johnson, a former first-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals, had appeared to cool because of a high asking price. The only team he is known to have visited is Buffalo, though Tampa Bay and Washington are reported …

I have to start this giving Bear Sox a little credit after I read a comment he made... I'm sure at least some of you are Madden geeks, like myself. Heck, I'm so bad that I only own a system for only that game. Once I started playing in college, I couldn't stop. My question to those of you who are in need of help, like me, is do you do any of the following: 1. Update your roster to the latest team, creating whoever you need? 2. Play with the Roster as if you were GM and create your own line-up making trades, etc that you'd like in a dream scenario? 3. Go for broke and create either an all-time Bears team or the '85 Bears team? As there's not …

It was already considered a possibility, but w/ the report (from PFT) that Det is set to release Kevin Jones, that would likely put RB at or near the top of Detroits draft needs. There has been a debate on this board for some time between those who want Mendenhall and those who want OT. I am in the OT camp, but have to admit, I am not a fan of Mendenhal to Detroit either.

This guy was ranked the 3rd best FA S by walterfootball, and from what I've heard/seen, he still has not been signed. I'd love to add this guy for about 4 years, $16 million, which could essentially save us the need to draft a S in round 3.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that there is mutual interest between the Bears and RB Chris Brown. Brown had finished with 102 rushes for 462 yards and five touchdowns while playing behind LenDale White. He is currently visiting Houston. I am not really sure how I would feel about this if it went through. I am inclined to lean toward the draft for RB and would rather we use free agent money on an guard.

I called this happening a while back and its now a reality/possibility. THIS is the type of guy you trade for and who would fit perfect for us. I dont know what it would take to get him, but it definitely would be worth exploring. If we sign somehow find some competent FA O-lineman, Id be fine trading our 1st rd. pick; or next years and.....? ANQUAN BOLTIN'? Now that the Cardinals have locked up receiver Larry Fitzgerald at a more affordable (or, as the case may be, less unaffordable) price over the next four seasons, they might have to deal with another thorny issue at the position. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Anquan Boldin could want more m…

Prospect A. (+)Has all the intangables and leadership qualities. Tough and plays through pain and takes command of the team. Strong arm and can complete all the intermediate routes. Decent mobility and can throw accurate on the run. (-)Doesn't shine at any physical aspect, but not poor at any either. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prospect B. (+)Has it all from a physical standpoint. Perfect height and weight for a QB and can take a hit. Is athletic enough to avoid the rush and buy time in the pocket. Can make all the throws and has great arm strength. Per Chicagosports.com Extra points: Bears quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton was part of a large contingent of pro coaches and scouts in San Diego this past Friday watching Josh Johnson, the University of San Diego quarterback. Johnson (6-3, 200) who struggled with his throws at the NFL Scouting Combine due to a back injury, was on point throwing on his home turf. Johnson first created as buzz by running the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds at combine, tops among quarterbacks. … Expect the Bears to be at Vanderbilt University March 21 to watch Commodore offensive tackle Chris Williams perform. He might be worthy of the Bears’ No. 14 overall pick.
