Now I dunno if they will trade him, or decline matching offers and take the two first round picks or what, but we tagged him. And if we did get two more first round picks, and we could package two of them to get a rookie QB and use one on an OLT, it might be an improvement for the offense, regardless of how good Robinson is as a WR. https://www.chicagobears.com/news/bears-put-franchise-tag-on-robinson

  4. Dak is locked up. Houston is not taking offers for Desean. Russell gives his team a 39 mil cap hit if he's traded. My assumption is they are out of the equation for us. That leads me to this question: who is a better solution than Trubisky? Take into consideration style of play and system compatibility, along with supporting cast.

The Franchise Tag's deadline is tomorrow. The new league year starts on March 17th (next Wednesday), so the Bears will have to get under the cap by that date. If they tag ARob, they would have to shed a ton of salary to get under the cap in a week. The only options I see are the following: 1. Franchise Tag and renegotiate a long-term deal to lessen the cap hit in 2021. 2. Tag and trade 3. Let him go to free agency, but still work a deal with him 4. Let him go, don't pursue

How about Fitzmagic and Ehlinger in the draft for next season? Leaves us the first pick for OT. I heard an interview with the Longhorn, seems pretty heady and smart. I’ll admit I watched next to noting in terms of Texas’ games this year.

  8. Pace said: “There’s a window here to improve our team. … We have foundation pieces in place on our roster. We’ve proven we have a playoff ready roster; we’ve been there two of the last three years and we’ve got a lot of young talent we need to develop. Obviously our expectations are much higher than that. But it’s about building upon what we already have, making the necessary strides. That’s a big one that we’re talking about right now and I understand that. But we do feel like we have a lot of foundation pieces in place, a lot of good talent on our roster, and it’s our job to add to that.” https://heavy.com/sports/chicago-bears/release-offensive-lineman-rashaad…

I personally think AROB is a top 5 or 6 best WRs in the league. Having said that, for the 18.6 mil it will take just to tag him this year should we? How about sign a Cory Davis made 6 mil last year, ( maybe 10 m) and Curtis Samuel who made 1.6 last year (6 mil contract for this year) and throw in a Phillip Dorsett 1.2 mil this year (3 mil contract). None are as good as AROB but gives us a upgraded WR room, for almost the same money. That way we can concentrate on upgrading the OL and a QB prospect in the draft.

Just throwing this out there , it was mentioned on the radio the other day that Chicago is the only mega metropolitan area not to have a second team. The Halas family name carries weight in the league I believe as long as Virginia is alive I can’t imagine someone breaching it, but isn’t it time for a second team? Just some offseason scuttle butt to kick around.

Sounds like a perfect Nagy scenario. Wont cost much , no draft capital, and then still draft a QB. I would say better than Foles.

SiriusXM mentioned that Russell Wilson has pushed for a trade and mentioned teams he’s interested in. The Raiders were named; Carr could be in play?

https://dabearsblog.com/2021/zimmermanqb Found this interesting. Don't know how close to reality the values are. But based on his points I just don't see any reason the Bears should do any trading up for any QB that would be available before ten. I want them to just stay put unless one of the top four falls beyond ten or hope Jones falls to 20. Other wise draft a OL best player available at 20 and see who's there in the 2nd.

I really like this guy. It seems like he gets it, he knows how to make the defense better and they will be next year. It was interesting to hear all the praise go to Fangio, and I don't think anyone ever mentioned Pagano once.

Heard on Waddle and Silvey that nobody is giving Philly a first round pick for Carson Wentz. Also, it's rumored that we are highly interested in Derek Carr.

  19. Started by Bill,

What if Pace and Nagy were to trade x=y=z players this off season. Get another four or five draft picks and try and have a draft like the Bears had in the early 80's. Start building a new foundation for a generation. Why would that mean they have to win now or be gone. Set a true foundation of picks to build on and insure them a decade of control? Why does it have to be win now or gone. Change the whole thought process.
